In this scene, Katherine Pierce (possessing Elena Gilbert’s body) and her daughter Nadia Petrova are talking. Katherine remarks that she is finally in the clear for the first time in 500 years with no one coming after her, and notes that people in town would likely slit their own throats to protect Elena Gilbert. When Nadia asks what that means for her, Katherine tells her she can make her own choices, but voices that she wants her to stay. Katherine admits that while she may never learn how to be a good mother, she will try. They acknowledge that they want more than just a standard mother-daughter bond.
