01:04The decision to close Yissa comes after Indigenous organisations urged the government to keep it open.
01:11The chief executive of Aboriginal Housing NT calling it quits today, adding her name to a list of high profile
01:19resignations among Aboriginal leaders.
01:21Every piece of legislation that gets put through has a negative impact directly on Aboriginal people.
01:27And it's killing my spirit and I just can't stand to see what's happening to Aboriginal Territorians in this environment
01:33at the moment.
01:34A spokesperson from the Chief Minister's office saying the CLP has a strong record of working with Aboriginal corporations which
01:42are taking constructive steps to improve outcomes for their people.
01:46And its focus remains on reducing crime for all Territorians, saying the government will continue to stand up to activists,
01:54carpetbaggers and their offender-first approach.
01:58The Batchelor facility, which will double as an evacuation centre, is set to open on the 11th of October.
