00:00The Bears happen to be the one game on the board where it doesn't seem like it's extreme weather,
00:04but weather is potentially in play, as I see here in Chicago.
00:07There could be some rain, some wind, probably always the case, by the way, in Chicago going into a game.
00:13The Bears, you know, naturally are the darling of the NFL.
00:16You put up 50 points in the NFL, everybody wants to talk about you, everybody wants to watch you.
00:20It's the national game today on Fox at 1 p.m. Eastern as they take on the Minnesota Vikings.
00:25The Vikings are playing with their backup quarterback, Carson Wentz, Joe.
00:28But as Doc said, and, you know, certainly you and I would agree and echo is that if the Vikings
00:34play well today
00:35and somehow win or maybe even keep the game close, I don't think there is a world that Kyler Murray
00:40comes back next week.
00:41I think Carson Wentz would probably just keep going.
00:44And the other thing that I would say is that we just spent an entire 17-week season last week
00:48doing shows week after week
00:50asking the same question, when is Justin Jefferson going to get the ball?
00:53And he didn't, the whole season.
00:55And then in week one, they somehow figured it out, Joe.
00:58Jefferson had a big game.
01:00Everyone's been waiting for that.
01:02Well, as the resident fantasy nerd, I will say he actually did get the ball a couple weeks
01:06when Carson Wentz was playing quarterback.
01:09So the context was Carson Wentz knows where Justin Jefferson's on the field.
01:13That's a good thing.
01:14And I'm with you.
01:16I know they put up 50-something points, but they also gave up 37.
01:19So let's not pretend like the Bears' defense is any good because it's not.
01:23And I think when you have to deal with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and look, Aaron Jones is older, but
01:27he is healthy right now.
01:29So even as an older player, I think, you know, it would be a compounded situation if this was week
01:3414.
01:34And there was a lot of tread on the tires here for Aaron Jones, and he wasn't 100% healthy.
01:39But he'll be able to take over this spot here as the lead back for the day.
01:42I do think this 4.5 is very much in play on the Minnesota Vikings side.
01:46I really do.
01:46I think that defense is very good.
01:48I think they can keep this game close and compete.
01:50And offensively, they have enough weapons that are all there and healthy, and Carson Wentz is playing for a job
01:55potentially here.
01:56If they come out with a victory, I think you're right, 100%.
01:59Even if it's very close, I think the chatter begins.
02:02Should we pivot to Kyla Murray back?
02:04Maybe we don't do that right away.
02:05Maybe we give him some more time.
02:07But I think this one is in play.
02:09And as impressive as the Bears' offense was last week,
02:12if they blow the doors off the Vikings this week,
02:15then we can start anointing the Chicago Bears as the team to beat the NFC,
02:18or one of them at the very least.
02:19But let's slow the roll and see what they do in Week 2 first with a real defense,
02:23not the Carolina Panthers.
02:25Yeah, I still am very much in on the Bears, and I'm still very in on their offense.
02:29And I do think another 30 or 40 points is coming today for them.
02:32I think that it is legit.
02:34I am buying.
02:35But the defense, obviously, and the number, you've got to lay 4.5.
02:38That is a concern.
02:39And then the other thing that I would add here, and really when you step back and think
02:43about it, I mean, Kyler Murray was available for like 25 teams in the NFL.
02:48It just so happened that the Vikings didn't like their quarterback, and he's there.
02:52I mean, he was available to play at the end of last year for the Cardinals,
02:56and they chose to play Jacoby Brissett.
02:58So is this an indictment for me on Kyler Murray?
03:00Yeah, probably a little bit.
03:01I don't love Carson Wentz.
03:03But the truth is, is that if he's playing well,
03:05I don't see any reason why the Vikings should just go to a guy who has not played well in
03:11a year.
03:12So good luck to Carson Wentz today.
03:14Maybe he ends up getting it done.
03:15By the way, outside, those two defenders for the Vikings, also really, really good today,
03:19too.
03:19We'll see what Brian Flores' offense decides to cook up today.
03:24We'll see you next time.
