00:00:18The champs are flexing their Super Bowl depth, and they've got a lot that he can lean on.
00:00:22Yeah, Drew Locke came in, played exceptional football week one,
00:00:25but that dark side defense leaned into it because they are exceptional.
00:00:29And as far as Arizona is concerned, quarterback Jacoby Brissett played great in week one,
00:00:34but lean into your tight end.
00:00:36Trey McBride may be the most dynamic tight end in football.
00:00:39He's the guy that's the actuator of this offense.
00:00:42A couple of outstanding offensive players in McBride and Jackson Smith and Jigba,
00:00:47as there is the rookie 39-year-old head coach who, believe it or not, this week,
00:00:52when asked about Seattle, called him the best coach team in football.
00:00:56And he's going to give it a shot against that man in his second year after winning the Super Bowl
00:01:02in his second year,
00:01:02beginning his third season,
00:01:04and describing his team as a flexible group with a lot of connectivity.
00:01:20Jason Myers kicking off to start things and on the return for the Cardinals,
00:01:26Devin Duvernay across the 35 and landing around the 42-43 yard line.

00:01:38Well, Drew Locke is at the helm in today for the injured Sam Darnold on Seattle.
00:01:42Now, we spoke with the head coach, Mike McDonald, of the Seahawks,
00:01:46and he said they are aiming for Sam Darnold to be ready to play next week,
00:01:49but they've got to see how he practices.
00:01:51I spoke with Sam just a couple of minutes ago,
00:01:53and he told me he has already done some things on the field,
00:01:56but he wants to be conservative with this,
00:01:58and he wants to make sure he returns at a safe time because it is early in the season.
00:02:02But McDonald, Darnold, and the rest of this offense have all the confidence in the world in Drew Locke.
00:02:08All right, both running backs, Love and Algier, start on the backfield,
00:02:12but the pass complete to Trey McBride after that 40-yard kickoff return
00:02:17to start things as the Cardinals cross midfield.
00:02:20Now, since he started in week six last year,
00:02:24Jacoby Brissett has passed for more yards in the NFL than any quarterback,
00:02:28which says a lot about how he hung in there last year through a tough season.
00:02:31Yeah, no question about it, and I tell you what,
00:02:33he made two or three throws that were as good as any two or three throws
00:02:37I saw all weekend in the opening weekend.
00:02:40He was dialed.
00:02:42Algier at the back after a nine-yard pickup.
00:02:48And a low throw that can't be hauled in by Michael Wilson.
00:02:52The pressure was put on Brissett the minute he got back by Derek Hall.
00:02:59Offensive line up front, hoping to pave the way for the rookie running back from Notre Dame,
00:03:06Jeremiah Love and the veteran Tyler Algier.
00:03:09And we saw them open up Trey McBride right there.
00:03:12This most dynamic tight end in football had that catch on the very first play.
00:03:17He is one of those guys that you are going to feed the football to regardless of where he lines
00:03:22up.
00:03:33And at this point, if you're the floor on a fourth and two,
00:03:42it looks like here comes the punter, Blake Gilligan.
00:03:44You know what kills you on?
00:03:46Penetration absolutely kills the running game.
00:03:49And watch Leonard Williams right here, mano a mano against your left tackle.
00:03:53That's Parris.
00:03:54And he just drives him, Parris Johnson, into the backfield,
00:03:58which allows no room for your running back to convert on third down.
00:04:07Gilligan will kick it away.

00:04:21Seahawks defense does what it has to do.
00:04:24And Drew Locke taking over after just a few plays in the opener,
00:04:30but said he knew all week he was going to start.
00:04:32So he was able to settle into the offensive game plan.
00:04:37He did enough for his team to win and had a strong preseason,
00:04:40which he said he leaned on confidence-wise to get him through that game a lot more comfortable today.
00:04:45I thought it was exceptional in game one, Chris.
00:04:48I thought he did a great job considering he had not one rep in practice
00:04:51facing that New England defense to prepare for that game.
00:04:55He really played well.
00:04:56But Jadarian Price gets the football, the rookie running back from Notre Dame,
00:05:01and with a confident carry himself.
00:05:05He averaged over five yards a carry in his first pro game.
00:05:10Yeah, he did.
00:05:11I mean, he's one of those one-cut backs, and I'm telling you, Smith and Jigba, he is the guy.
00:05:16This dude is so dynamic, led the league in reception yards last year.
00:05:22You give him the football and just let him make plays.
00:05:26Let's get out of the way, because he's going to do something special.
00:05:32And Jigba, to the bottom part of your screen.
00:05:39Drew Locke, going deep down the middle, towards the sideline.
00:05:44It's a Jigba.
00:05:44Jackson, Smith, and Jigba will take it down the sideline,
00:05:48and that is a Seahawk touchdown.
00:06:03Well, you've got somebody playing right here.
00:06:06You've got somebody playing in the half, and we just go right by him.
00:06:10So we've got a corner that's rolled up, a safety that thinks they're playing quarters.
00:06:14And guess what?
00:06:15Nobody has Smith and Jigba, and that is a horrible way for Arizona to start.
00:06:20We talked about it.
00:06:21He's the one dude you've got to cover.
00:06:23He's so damn dynamic.
00:06:25He's incredible.
00:06:26And you're just going to let him run right through your secondary?
00:06:29That's a mistake that will cost you a football game.
00:06:32And Jason Myers, the extra point.
00:06:37Locke had plenty of time, and he looked down the middle,
00:06:40but saw his number one receiver glide wide open.
00:06:47And they covered 82 yards for the touchdown.
00:06:50And look at this.
00:06:51I mean, bro, it's never going to be easier than that for Drew Locke.
00:06:55And that's your go-to guy.
00:06:57That's the guy you have eyes on.
00:06:59That's your first read in the progression.
00:07:01And when 11 is the first read and nobody decides to cover him, it's too easy.

00:10:50Once he catches the ball, he becomes almost a running back when he has this ball,
00:10:54and that's one of the places where he has been so good.

00:11:23when he is lined up in the short side of the field,
00:11:27what we call the boundary.

00:11:30That's where he makes his money.
00:11:32When he's into the field, meaning away from the boundary where you've got more space,
00:11:37look for those in-cutting routes, those seams, those crossing routes.
00:11:40That's what Trey McBride loves to run from that position.

00:12:36Well, look at when you line him up, and this is one of the things that makes the Seahawks so
