00:02A large group of Iranian citizens have been taking to the streets every night for over
00:08200 nights now. The demonstrations began spontaneously on March 1st, after it became
00:14clear that leader of the Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Saeed Ali Khamenei, had been assassinated
00:20in U.S.-Israeli strikes on his office a day earlier. The rallies have persisted unabated
00:26despite grave dangers and hardships at times, such as attacks on Iranian neighborhoods.
00:32One woman, for instance, was killed in March in the midst of a rally after U.S.-Israeli
00:38bombs hit a building in central Tehran. Her martyrdom, however, became a symbol of resistance.
00:45The presence of these demonstrators has accomplished two primary objectives. First, it shattered
00:51the illusions of U.S. and Israeli leaders who believed that a new war on Iran would be a
00:56accompanied by domestic unrest in the country, which would in turn pave the way for the toppling
01:02of the Islamic Republic. Second, as Iranian commanders declared in messages issued to commemorate
01:08the 200th night of consecutive rallies, it has bolstered the morale of Iranian fighters operating
01:14missile and drone launchers and air defense systems. Demonstrators say they foresee no end
01:20date for their gatherings.
