00:00Well, two absolutely remarkable election results in Germany yesterday. Two separate elections,
00:07neither one by either of the two governing parties in Germany, the CDU Conservatives,
00:13nor the SPD Social Democrats. And instead, Friedrich Merz, the Conservative Chancellor,
00:21hanging by a thread. I wrote about this at Hever News today. Do go and check it out. My latest
00:26article, I'll put a link down below this video, because Merz are vowing to try and stay in office
00:33and fight to stay as German Chancellor. But just consider this, that in the Mecklenburg for Parmen
00:41election, his party, the CDU, a party in government, for goodness sake, didn't even hit 5%, the 5%
00:50threshold for seats. Bean described that result as a disaster, and it is yet more evidence of the
00:59AFD's rise. They're the most popular party in Germany at the moment, and they won in another
01:06area of Germany. They previously won in Saxony-Arnhalt and Merz. You can see they're deeply, deeply
01:12unpopular. In office as Chancellor, as the AFD, you can see there, won in another German election on 38%
01:21of the vote, with the SPD Social Democrats in second. But just look at that humiliation for the
01:27CDU Conservatives. Below 5%, which means, as you can see here, they get zero seats because they didn't
01:35hit that threshold. So the party of Germany's current Chancellor has zero seats in that election compared
01:44to the AFD on 32, the SPD on 29, which really does show you if Conservatives talk tough and fail
01:52to
01:52deliver, they can expect a pretty brutal electoral wipeout. Now in Berlin, another party won. This being
02:01the Left Party, the party that grew, as you can see there, out of the former Communist Party, they won
02:10in Berlin. One of their core policies, it seems, is going to be to nationalise housing, a policy
02:17summer estimating would cost 20 billion euros. But in Berlin, you can see there, the Left Party winning,
02:25big boost to their support, with the CDU actually second there, but still declining quite significantly.
02:32And even in Berlin there, you can see the AFD increasing their support and coming third ahead
02:37of the Greens and ahead of the Social Democrats as well, in terms of seats. You can see the Left
02:42Party there dominating on 47 seats, the CDU down to 34 and the AFD on 29. I guess the question
02:50now is,
02:51how long can MERS cling on as German Chancellor? As you continue to see the AFD winning elections
