00:18doing great Paul how are you it's great to talk to you for the first time in my uh my

00:22window here so thank you for joining us the morning skate beautiful how was that how was
00:28morning skate Paul well it was uh it was just a regular morning skate of guys that uh I'm probably
00:36not going to see too much of this year as far as uh you know Kulik's in the lineup uh
00:41Kozak's in the
00:42lineup uh Merca's in there yeah I'm talking about guys I probably will see a lot of I think that's
00:51basically that's pretty much it oh Lion and Ellis okay yeah other than that uh Metza okay we could
00:57see a little bit of uh I I see him right now as the number seven defenseman so uh those
01:04are
01:04basically the guy and then tomorrow's lineup will be basically the guys um you know that's what
01:10you're going to and that very often happens in the preseason now for for people that don't know
01:16don't forget that with the new rules if you've played over a hundred games in the NHL you can only
01:23play in two preseason games right that's it okay I didn't know that yeah that's a new rule this year
01:29so um and that's why Lindy Ruff uh really uh wanted to do that scrimmage because of that uh some
01:37some
01:38some veterans like to play in the preseason games to get themselves ready uh maybe try some different
01:43things or that type of thing and now they can only play in two whereas before the team would have
01:48six
01:49and some of them would play in four uh a few would play in five and um but now if
01:56you've got over a
01:56hundred games in the NHL you can only play in two do you think those two games will both be
02:00the the
02:01home games that the Sabres play in the preseason my guess is yes yeah I definitely I've seen in the
02:07in the past that that tends to be how teams operate anyways in the preseason so yeah I would assume
02:12the
02:12same thing and that's why you would always get those non-competitive preseason games because the road
02:17team is basically the AHL team and the home team is you know Crosby Malkin you know that group and
02:26then when people come to Buffalo uh you know we just finished I remember last year Fitch just finished
02:31the prospects challenge I thought I was looking at the same team that was at the prospects challenge
02:35playing Thompson and Darlene and and uh you know so it uh that's usually the way it goes
02:40Paul before we get into kind of season outlook as the regular season's fast approaching just for
02:45the preseason game tonight I know we're talking about all these AHL guys and everything is there
02:50anyone though if you're watching or listening at home anyone should be keeping their eyes out for
02:55specifically that you might have your eye on absolutely Kulik you know uh you know he he had
03:01the chance to uh you know you were at the scrimmage so you got to see him at the scrimmage
03:06and he's
03:07going to play center today with Rashard and Sherry so uh you know I'm glad to see him back at
03:13center
03:13because I am not a fan at all of him just sitting on a line with Carrick and Malenstein playing
03:19wing
03:20um he's not even playing center for some reason Lindy Ruff really was insisting upon
03:25James Thompson being a center and he's moved McLeod he's moved Kulik so your three centermen
03:32as of right now are Thompson Norris and Ausland um so you know I you look at what the lines
03:43have
03:43been to start with Norris is centering Helenuse and McLeod well if you're insisting upon putting
03:49Kulik on the wing why isn't it Norris Kulik and Helenuse why is McLeod there why isn't McLeod on
03:55I mean he was on the line with Malenstein by the time the playoffs ended because he wasn't playing well
04:00so why isn't he on that line I mean see that's the kind of stuff I'm not understanding here I
04:05mean
04:06to me you might as well not even have Kulik playing if he's playing with Carrick and Malenstein it's
04:10just not that's not his style that's not his line um and to me it's useless to have him on
04:17a line like
04:18that so I just see some things here that uh you know Lindy Ruff said they'll be changing things I
04:24don't mind Ausland with Quinn and Benson I think that's a pretty good line I think Krebs has earned the
04:29right to start with Thompson I just think I think Kulik should be centering those two though I think
04:34Krebs really stepped into his own last year and actually started producing you know on you know
04:41playing like what you would expect maybe a first round pick to play like offensively and you know
04:47a good two-way guy a guy who's you know will step up uh when the going gets tough and
04:54uh so you know I
04:56think he's earned the right to stay with Thompson I and I don't hate Doan there or anything but I
05:01just Kulik's my problem with with where they just kind of stuck him yeah I think it's it we've talked
05:07about this all offseason long Paul they've got so many players that can play center and so many forwards
05:13that you don't you find yourself in this position where somebody is going to be in a spot where it
05:19doesn't make sense it's really hard to build a lineup with all of the players that they have on their
05:24team right now and feel like nobody's being left out and that to me is something that is going to
05:31be really interesting to watch tonight as and as the preseason goes like Kulik tonight to me this is
05:37an audition for him to play center like you're describing it's like okay do you have your legs
05:41enough that you can play the 200 foot game or do we need to stick you on the wing for
05:46a little while
05:47and protect you so you can get your feet back under you I'm curious how much you think this tonight
05:52with Kulik is sort of a trial run of how are your legs in a game situation in an arena
05:58where there's
05:59people watching yeah definitely and and by all accounts and Joe can pipe in here it seemed like
06:05he did pretty well in the scrimmage he did he did he was moving around and there were there wasn't
06:09really anything glaring that you would notice and give you a bad feeling of any kind so I thought it
06:14was fine yeah so yeah absolutely I agree with you 100 percent that this gives him the opportunity
06:20and Lindy Ruff did say he's going to move him around you know and just uh you know and you
06:27know
06:27how coaches are he's 22 years old it's not his fault that he wound up with a blood clot but
06:34you know
06:34how coaches are well you're you're gonna have to earn your way back you know earn it you hear that
06:40all
06:41the time you know so now Kulik has not played 100 games yet so he could play all four precinct
06:46games
06:47if that's the way Lindy Ruff would want to handle it he's only played 75 games so he can play
06:52as much
06:52as he wants what would you do in that situation Paul you think you would play him all four to
06:56get
06:56him ramped up or would that be too much you think at the start of the season I don't know
06:59if I'd roll
07:00him out tomorrow in the back-to-back but I think I might play him the last two okay um
07:05you know you
07:06let him get into this one he had the scrimmage on Saturday so you had Sunday off now you put
07:12him
07:12in a game I don't know if I'd stick him back to back but if it were me yes I
07:16would have him play
07:16in the last two so I'm I'm also curious how much this the same you know problem that I had
07:22just
07:23mentioned with they've got so many players up front I'm curious Paul if you think that that level of
07:30talent that number of guys that are all vying to take over essentially the Alex Tuck production
07:37right there are guys that see that spot there's probably four guys on the team right now that see
07:43that spot and go that's mine I need that I'm curious how you think that will change camp as a
07:50whole the
07:51intensity level the compete level from these guys how much that could push those players to drive and
07:58continue to improve at a maybe a higher clip than they would if it was a situation where it's like
08:03oh if the Costa you're the guy you're gonna okay you're gonna go right into that tuck spot like no
08:08that is not what this is this year they have got a number of players that are capable of of
08:15filling
08:15that role if things go properly that all I think are going to be fighting to earn that and I'm
08:20curious
08:21what effect do you think that might have on the team's camp as a whole they have more bottom
08:28six players and they have top six players I you know I look at all right where are the extras
08:34here
08:34all right you have three you have three guys you have 20 players and then three the three are Ellis
08:39Metza and either Kozak or Danforth because Zucker remembers not going to start he'll start the season
08:46on IR so one one of those forwards will remain the if there are no more injuries the other would
08:53have
08:53to hit waivers and go go to Rochester um so but then Zucker would come back which means probably both
09:03Kozak and Danforth eventually if there were no more injuries it is funny how you know it's our jobs to
09:10kind of look at well who's going to be the god man now or whatever but then it all it
09:13takes care of
09:14itself because another injury hits that was the whole goalie rotation last season yeah yeah another
09:19injury hits and it takes care of itself and nobody gets waved and another guy goes on IR and so
09:25so
09:25it's it's something that it's just kind of weird how it usually will just work it's but if it doesn't
09:30work his way out one or the other of Kozak and the way I see it Kozak and Danforth would
09:36have to
09:37be put on waivers and if Zucker came back and still no more injuries then the other one would have
09:42to do it
09:42I I don't see any other forwards um if they're not traded uh you know you look at uh the
09:51left
09:51wingers Krebs Benson McLeod Kulik I think they're all here and Zucker if you want another one you look
09:57at the centerman Thompson Austin Norris Carrick I don't think he's going on waivers um he might be
10:03the odd man out at times if like Kozak really really is good or something or Danforth is really really
10:09good
10:09um so you know I don't think he's in stone and the right wingers don't Quinn Hellenus Malenstein
10:16they're all basically in stone you know so um it's it's but you know the thing is too and I
10:23don't
10:23think he will but but Hellenus is a kid don't get comfortable kid yeah you played exceptionally well
10:30going into a very hostile place in Montreal in the playoffs you played exceptionally well in the
10:36world championships and came home with the golden goal but don't get a big head and I don't think
10:41he will but uh you know young kids are young kids so don't think you just have it made all
10:46of a sudden
10:47because you're next to Josh Norris and when you open camp and you've had all these other things happen
10:51but that kid I would be shocked if he took things for granted Paul question defensively here is we're in
10:58the preseason now officially starting tonight we were talking Lindy Ruff was talking about the potential
11:04partners for Owen Power and Zellweger of course is one of the big names there who do you do you
11:10see
11:10Zellweger fitting in there or are there other names you think that could maybe work with Owen Power
11:14pretty well too I don't like the two lefties two righties especially the two righties okay and and
11:19if you include Metzler you got three righties um I just think Metzler right now is the number seven
11:25I think he's built for it I think he has the mindset for it he cannot play for a couple
11:30weeks come in
11:30and play really well just like Bryson used to um so I think he's perfect for that job of you
11:36know
11:36the extra guy who will probably play a lot because you are going to get injuries on your defense at
11:41times um I I felt that Lindy Ruff would go with the lefty righties with the bottom four I mean
11:47Darlene and Samuelson both lefties they they're amazing I mean yeah as the play is going on they'll
11:53crisscross you know they they didn't line up that way you know maybe they'll line up Darlene's at the
11:59right Samuelson's on the left and you have a two-on-two rush coming and the two of them
12:03crisscross and now the other ones are on the right and the left um it's just the way they do
12:07it and
12:07they're good at it um so you know the lefty lefty there and for whatever the reason I I don't
12:14I can't
12:15give you a reason why but it's harder for a right-handed shot to play left defense than it is
12:20a left-handed
12:21shot to play right defense yep I have no answer for it I don't know if you do Owen but
12:25it just because
12:27you're still taking the puck off the wall on the backhand either way yeah but it just seems
12:32not to work as well with the righty so it still wouldn't shock me even though Zellweger
12:39and power and I know they played together I believe it was the world junior for team Canada
12:43so it's their they are familiar with each other I still and Crevier surprised some people last year
12:49he played some top four minutes in his first year in the NHL with Chicago and did well with it
12:55that's why I thought power would be with him as a lefty righty and then Zellweger would be with
13:00Timmons as a lefty righty um but that's not the way they started but just because they're not
13:05starting that way doesn't mean this is the way they're going to finish right now Timmons is playing
13:09left defense as a righty and I seem to recall that didn't go real well last year but um you
13:16know so
13:17we'll see how it breaks down yeah and to that point about how much they're likely going to shift
13:21things around I I'm I just want to caution people against early in this preseason even early in the
13:28season there will be movement on these lines because of as you discussed they've got so many
13:34players uh but you know in the bottom six that can come in and out that can play different roles
13:40and
13:40guys that can you know shift around in the middle six of the lineup as well so what do you
13:46think
13:46Lindy's process is in terms of identifying who he wants to work together is he going off of
13:52pairings or trios from last season is it stuff he's seeing in camp just a few days in or is
13:58he going to
13:58really use this preseason and maybe even a few of the early games in the year to identify who's got
14:05chemistry early on no the lines are still the same as they were when he came into camp so this
14:09is what
14:10he came with with the coaching staff in the summer by the way in the pregame today uh uh with
14:16Zach and
14:17Derek at six o'clock uh Seth Appert is going to be the head coach tonight uh yes Lindy Ruff
14:21is in
14:22Nashville for the uh uh funeral of Brent Peterson former Sabre they were teammates so Lindy Ruff is
14:28there um I had uh we Seth went for about 15 minutes today probably the last seven or eight we're
14:34about
14:35the power play and I asked him some questions with the fans in mind because everybody wants to
14:40absolutely crucify Seth Appert when the power play doesn't go well and I try to tell people
14:45this isn't like the offensive defensive coordinator in the NHL or the NFL he it's not Seth Appert's
14:53power play everything that happens is Lindy Ruff's he has the final say in how the power play is going
14:59to be run he has the final say in how the penalty killing is going to be run but I
15:03asked Seth
15:04about that I said a lot of people think this is your power play I and he had talked a
15:10little bit
15:11about and he talked about the collaboration over the summertime where every single thing penalty kill
15:18power play five on five everything the coaching staff with the analytics staff sit down together
15:27what's best here put it they went over tapes of the best power plays what makes this power
15:34play one of the best power plays next thing they did is went over tapes of the worst power plays
15:39what are these people doing that makes them a poor power play and everybody has input and then
15:46you know Lindy Ruff he has his philosophies he has the final say with this is what we're going to
15:53do
15:53with this power play this is what we're going to do with this penalty kill and then it's up to
15:57the
15:58coaches to coach it so it's a very interesting if people want to hear exactly how it's done
16:03what are the Sabres going to do to try to improve their power play this year and you know what
16:09kind
16:09of things do they do over the summer it's an interesting conversation I think people will be
16:14interested to listen to that actually I'm going to write about it too when we're done talking
16:17um you know and and how it actually works uh you know when if the power play goes south you
16:26blame
16:26Lindy Ruff and everybody because they're all in on it they're all in on the meeting and if it goes
16:31really well you give everybody credit but the way it goes in in if it goes poorly let's fire seth
16:40appart if it goes well boy tage thompson is a great power play guy boy you know it's the players
16:45yeah right they don't they nobody ever gives when they were 36 percent against montreal in the
16:53playoffs last year I didn't see one I didn't see one person say to me well boy seth appart's doing
16:58a great job it's it's thompson really you know really you know when they put benson and don't on
17:05there that and seth appart actually kind of agrees with that he goes he goes don't make the mistake
17:10of thinking it's my power play or Lindy ruff's power play or goes he goes it is the
17:15player's power play he goes I tell the players Rasmus Dowling this is your power play tage
17:21thompson this is your power play take ownership of it you know and so it's it's an interesting
17:27conversation I think people will enjoy hearing Paul just to you know stay in the power play for a
17:32second they're bringing Eric Stahl down from the front office into kind of the coaching circle here
17:37a little bit and to maybe attribute some things to the power play do you what do you make of
17:41that
17:42move is he more of just kind of a breath of fresh air in the room to give them some
17:45some other
17:46opinions if you will or is he kind of you know is he going to kind of take the reins
17:51on getting their
17:52power play in effect it's not just that he actually uh did did a face-off meeting with them I
17:59believe
17:59I think that I think Seth said yesterday um where you know he of course took many many face-offs
18:07in the
18:07National Hockey League and we know the Sabres are absolutely horrendous I mean I had heard what a
18:12great face-off guy Josh Norris was and I don't think he was real great at it last year now
18:16did
18:16injuries attribute to that maybe but I don't see anybody getting better you know it's just they're
18:23bad and they're still bad and they're always bad and and I don't see anybody getting better so
18:28I like this move I mean he still has his assistant to the GM role sure and he's not going
18:33to be at
18:33every practice as Lindy Ruff said he said he'll be there for a lot of the month but not all
18:38the
18:38whole month but there he's he's going to have power play responsibilities he's going to face off
18:43responsibilities um those types of things just tapping into the number of years and experience
18:51that he's had he did win the Stanley Cup and uh they did beat the Sabres along the way there
18:57I do I think I think I think a lot of people remember that yeah I don't know yeah yeah
19:01something
19:01like that in the conference finals uh but uh yeah so uh that just anything he can help with on
19:10the
19:10ice uh he's going to do but yes power play is going to be a big part of it and
19:14face-offs are going to
19:15be a big part of it okay all right very interesting now let's uh just briefly before we let you
19:20go here
19:20Paul you've been we've been there they're at camp preseason starts tonight how are we feeling about
19:27this team as a whole like they lost two big players in Alex Tuck and Bo Byram they are relying
19:33on some
19:34youth to come up through the system and and and sort of replace that production just real quick before
19:41we sort of get get rolling here and we don't stop until June how how are you feeling about this
19:47season
19:47heading in I don't think they're as good right now as they were when they finished the season I
19:52think letting Tuck go was a huge mistake I don't think anybody in the organization can replace what
19:59he brought uh he had a very specific and very good skill set defensively yeah I think Byram is a
20:06loss
20:07but I do like Zellweger and Crevier what they brought in there but that all that being said don't
20:13forget they had 109 points so even if they have 100 let's say they lose nine points let's say I'm
20:20right and they aren't as good as they were last year they have 100 points they still put in the
20:25playoffs you know they so um you know when you look at it that way maybe they aren't as good
20:34but nine points is a lot of points and if you lose nine points and they're sitting at 100
20:39you're still in the playoffs for sure even if you lose 13 points or 12 points let's say
20:45at 97 you're probably not assuredly but you're probably still in the playoffs so you know Helen
20:54and Oslin are good hockey players but they bring what they bring to the table they don't bring what
21:00Alex Tuck brings to the big springs to the table and they're going to miss what Alex Tuck brings to
21:05the
21:06table and um I like Oslin uh you know they have already moved kind of McLeod out of his role
21:13and
21:13it looks like Oslin's going to get that role and remember when we were talking about if you wanted to
21:17sign Tuck how could you do it he let's say he wants I think we were using a round figure
21:23of 10 million
21:24yeah and I said all right you trade you get trade Greenway get rid of his three and a half
21:28and you
21:29trade McLeod and get rid of his five and a half you just got rid of nine million the reason
21:33I thought
21:33you could get rid of McLeod is I think Austin can do his job as good or better yep and
21:39I think maybe
21:40Lindy Ruff agrees because it looks like he's in McLeod's role right now and you know that's why I'd
21:46said that not that I think McLeod I thought I liked McLeod his first year in Buffalo I thought he
21:50was
21:50excellent I was lukewarm on him last year and by the end of the by the end of the playoffs
21:56he was
21:56playing with Malenstein and and um uh I think Kozak maybe it was I don't remember who the other
22:02other player was on that line but he had he lost his position in the line because he just wasn't
22:07playing well you lose yeah you miss his speed but to me what what I'm looking at the lines now
22:14they've
22:14already replaced McLeod with Oslin and quite honestly with the way Oslin as smart as he is and
22:20the two-way player he is I think he probably will do a better job than McLeod did yep and
22:26that's
22:26that's part of why I I said the day that they signed Austin to that deal if he stays the
22:31player he is
22:31right now that deal makes sense and he'll get better right exactly sure you're right if he even if he
22:37doesn't get better it's fine it's fine because it's what's it's a million dollars more than they
22:43pay McLeod right now yeah cap's gonna go up 20 million dollars by the end of the deal and it's
22:47an
22:48eight-year deal it's like I'm thinking Noah what are you doing I know I know you probably you should
22:53have signed a five-year deal because you probably could bet on yourself and easily get better
23:00you know in x amount of years you guys can say how many 6.6 million dollars is gonna seem
23:06oh can
23:06you believe I just like they're they're paying Thompson 7.1 million at the at the prices now it's
23:12like they have Taich Thompson yes exactly yeah 100 percent you know Benson makes more than Taich
23:19Thompson on the cap at 7.5 but we understand why he does we understand why Norris is at 7
23:25.9
23:25you know we because you know so and Samuelson how many people when Samuelson struggled his first year
23:33was really good and then injury after injury after injury and there's a are you kidding me they gave
23:39him 4.2 million dollars which is nothing yeah but but people think that him at 4.2 million dollars
23:45and uh Lukanen at 4.7 are really huge contracts and you always hear that contract it's like that
23:52contract is not high yeah either in either case and now what are people saying about Samuelson who signed
23:58in 2023 for seven years at 4.28 million dollars it's like oh you're kidding he's only at 4.2
24:07you know
24:08and and I think the same thing is going to be said about Ausland you know and what do you
24:12what
24:12do you want to say two three years sure even maybe even sooner we're going to be sitting there going
24:17are you kidding I think it might he's all he's only costing 6.6 million dollars yeah Paul I think
24:22it
24:22might be December when we all think that and also I could 100 percent see that Paul I'd be remissed
24:28if
24:29before he let you go I didn't ask for a temperature check on this hellebuck situation I know um I
24:34know
24:35everyone it's it's kind of in and out what's going on in Winnipeg shuttle dayoff addressed the
24:40media earlier this week and said hellebuck's part of the family until he's not all of that I just don't
24:46know what I guess if you could give the people any semblance of what to believe in if this is
24:51still
24:51a possibility if you think it's a possibility or not well thanks to hellebuck I mean Winnipeg isn't
24:57going to get what they could have got from the Sabres before the draft sure uh from anybody I mean
25:02hellebuck really but hellebuck looked at it I've given you what was it three months four months to
25:07do this and you haven't done it so now I'm coming going to do public and now he's been suspended
25:13which I expected that didn't surprise me at all he doesn't show up to camp he gets suspended case
25:17closed I mean they're not going to let him get away with that um so that didn't surprise me in
25:22the
25:22least it's just part of the process I am not going to move my thought process at all I don't
25:29think
25:29they need him I I he what we don't know is was last year just an outlier where Lucanen's numbers
25:38were quite a bit better than than hellebuck's last year Lucanen had a better season um Lucanen had a
25:43very good season now the question is what happens this year you know can he can he take that season
25:50and improve upon it like every every good hockey player is going to improve on upon a season from last
25:56year you had a good year but can you be a little bit more consistent at times you know that's
26:01one
26:01thing he wants to work on you know he was and his numbers were excellent from December 9th on it
26:06was
26:06they were near the top of the league so I I just don't see the point in in risking 8
26:12.5 million dollars
26:13on your salary cap you're going to have to get rid of some couple of one or two probably decent
26:18forwards off your team well we've already talked about but it's not like they're overflowing with top
26:22six guys and you're probably going to lose Ostland or Hellenus or both or you're going to lose
26:29Ostland and Metzah or not Metzah I'm sorry uh uh one of your top right-handed shooting defenseman
26:37Mertka or one of those guys Kleber uh you know does does Lucanen have a no trade to Winnipeg we
26:44don't
26:45know he has five teams that he has a no trade to um and then if you do that and
26:53then you're you've
26:53weakened your forwards even more so now you're asking a goaltender who has been the best in the
27:00world in the regular season but has been a basically 500 or below 500 goaltender in the
27:06playoffs and is 8 and 15 in his last 23 playoff games with horrendous numbers you're going to ask
27:11him to stand in the net and basically steal the Stanley Cup I don't get it I don't understand
27:17it I don't get it I to me I would I would you know I would I I don't understand
27:25why Kekalainen
27:26thinks he needs to do that uh or was ever in on it um I I not that Lucanen is
27:33the best goaltender in
27:34the league or anything like that but I I just don't know if you're getting the best goaltender in the
27:40league anymore and and you're getting a goaltender who when the Winnipeg Jets won the president's
27:45trophy could not get them through you know so that's the thing I mean if he was like playing
27:52like Dominic Hoschuk did in the regular season and but he didn't play like that last year maybe he will
27:58this year maybe that was a one-year thing I don't know Winnipeg wasn't that good last year but he
28:02was
28:02part of the reason they weren't that good last year right it wasn't like you know he was it was
28:07the
28:07whole thing yeah I think I think for a long time he picked up a lot of slack there and
28:12and and did
28:13a lot of work and last year was the first year he didn't do that and look what happened to
28:16him
28:16sure and so I think it's I think it's a good you make a good argument Paul I I you
28:22know I like the
28:22move because I think I think he's the best goalie on the planet um but I don't think he is
28:27anymore I
28:28I I think you've got you've got an argument to make there I I don't I don't think I can
28:33uh I can
28:34give you much that's gonna disprove everything you just said aside we don't know he could be
28:39still the best goaltender it's a it's a gamble he still could be what he was last year we don't
28:44know none of us know exactly but you're right he could still be the best goaltender plan and last
28:49year could have just been an outlier we don't know yeah and that's why I don't know if I want
28:54to take
28:54an eight and a half million dollar chance and we can we can your forwards and we can your your
28:59your
28:59prospect pool uh to to to take a chance on it yeah I think that's totally fair when I was
29:08there were times I didn't like the goaltending but overall when Lucan and Lyon were alternating
29:13they were both lights out yeah they were great Ellis would come in he could sit for three weeks
29:18would come in and get you a win it might be a four three win or it might be a

29:23gets you a win there was a shutout I think from Ellis he shut out the Dallas Stars yeah yeah

29:28great you know I think Columbus too and I said this a lot no and I don't know as a
29:32goaltender if
29:32you would agree with it because I don't think I've said it to you but if Lucan and her lion
29:37were to
29:37get hurt it would not shock me at all if Ellis took the job no he got in the net
29:43and took the job
29:44just like Bussie did last year with Carolina who by the way showed up on waivers just like Ellis did
29:50and then was in the in net for the final series and helped them win the Stanley Cup so it
29:56would not
29:56shock me at all if he gets that opportunity after one year which I thought was a pretty good rookie
30:02year in the NHL if he grabbed the job if he ever gets the opportunity agreed I think he's he's
30:07got a
30:07lot of talent he's a higher pedigree goaltender than Bussie was I mean it's just the reality of it
