00:00You won't see this coming.
00:02These are the easiest and tastiest lentils
00:05you'll see today.
00:09Hi, do you want to enjoy a recipe
00:12that fills both your body and mind?
00:14Well, you can't miss out on a good hearty stew.
00:21The first step is to soak the lentils for a good while.
00:25You can leave them all night, just covered with water.
00:31Next, what we're going to do is take a leek
00:33and cut it into thin strips so that we can then chop it up
00:37into really, really small cubes.
00:41Then pour a little bit of oil into a pressure cooker
00:44and add the leek that we just chopped.
00:50Just with a little bit of oil and over medium heat,
00:53let it brown lightly.
00:56Just enough time to grab a piece of zucchini
00:59and chop it as well.
01:01So we make strips and cut them very thin.
01:04We want their flavor and all their essence.
01:07So, a very, very finely chopped piece.
01:12And in it goes as well.
01:15Once you have it, give it a little stir
01:17and go for the next ingredient while it cooks down.
01:21Which is going to be a tomato and the technique is the same.
01:26Cut it into tiny cubes so it breaks down and releases all its flavor.
01:31In it goes.
01:34Now we mix and let it cook for a bit, which is what they call sweating the vegetables.
01:39Why do they call it that?
01:41Good question.
01:43Also, I add a bit of ham cut into cubes.
01:46It's optional, but it goes perfectly with it.
01:50Once everything heats up, we add a good amount of paprika, which I always love.
01:56Add as much as you like.
01:58And ginger.
02:00I use a smaller amount, but it goes great with it.
02:03We enhance the flavor with meat concentrate.
02:06You could also use a bit of beef broth.
02:09And the lentils, already drained, go in.
02:13All of them, now what we'll do is cover everything with liquid.
02:17In my case, directly with broth.
02:21Vegetable broth to enhance the flavor.
02:23Also, since it's a bit salty, I don't have to add salt.
02:27If you just add water, then you'll have to add salt as well.
02:31We mix well, spread it out, and now, yes, put the lid on the pressure cooker.
02:37Turn the heat to maximum.
02:38And when it starts releasing steam at full blast,
02:41lower the heat to medium and let it cook for about 11 or 12 minutes.
02:46Afterwards, lentils are ready.
02:48Just wait for the pressure to go down.
02:51And serve your hearty comfort dish is ready to enjoy.
02:57Look, look, look, look, look at how amazing this looks.
03:01Don't tell me you don't feel like enjoying it.
03:03A little spoonful, and in it goes.
03:06Because enjoying a warm hearty dish is always comforting.
03:11And if you also have some good bread on the side to dip, that's even better.
03:17Are you also one of those who dips bread in the sauce?
03:21Tell me in the comments, and let me know what your favorite soup or stew recipe is.
