00:01Former Deputy Inspector General of Police Tanshri Ayob Khan Maidinpichy has been appointed
00:07Chairman of University Technical Malaysia-Melaka UTEM Board of Directors for a three-year term.
00:13UTEM said in a statement on Tuesday that his appointment took effect on September 16th
00:19following approval from Higher Education Minister Datuk Siri Dr. Zambri Abdul-Kadir.
00:25Ayob Khan succeeds Datuk Hussaini Omar, whose tenure has ended.
00:30The university said his extensive leadership and senior management experience in law enforcement
00:36would strengthen the board's role in guiding UTEM's strategic direction and long-term development.
00:42It added that his experience in strategic management would also help the university address future
00:48challenges, strengthen governance, expand strategic partnerships, and enhance its role in the
00:54technical education sector.
00:56Ayob Khan holds a Master's Degree in Information Technology from University Kebangsaan, Malaysia
01:02and served in the police force for nearly 35 years.
01:06He was Johor Police Chief from 2020 to 2022 before serving as Director of the Narcotics Crime
01:13Investigation Department and later the Criminal Investigation Department.
01:17Ayob Khan was appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police in 2023 and retired from the force
01:25in July.
