00:00I can't tell you how thrilled I was with our results here on the 7th of May.
00:06And I think in the first six months we've established ourselves as a very effective opposition.
00:12And I have to say, Dan Thomas, I thought, was doing a brilliant job.
00:17He came to our national conference in Birmingham and spoke and certainly had the support,
00:21not just of our Welsh members, but more broadly from across the United Kingdom.
00:25I am sorry for his personal difficulties that he's going through.
00:31No one's life is ever seamless.
00:33And I'm quite sure he will come out of these before too long.
00:37But it was pretty much untenable for him to continue as leader whilst he had these domestic disputes going on.
00:46So we very quickly and rapidly have moved to electing a new leader.
00:51And as you can see, Helen Jenner is now the leader of Reform in Wales and the group here in
01:00the town.
01:04Over the course of this week, the full shadow cabinet with one or two adjustments will be announced.
01:11And we will carry on as if nothing had happened.
01:14Waiting for Dan, who's going to stay a member of this place, to come back more actively with us.
01:21And we'll go on with that job of providing opposition, but also getting ready to put 1,200 candidates into
01:27the field for the local elections here in Wales next year.
01:31So there is an awful lot for us to do.
01:34We could have done without this bump in the road, but it's happened.
01:38We're making the best of it and we're now in the very capable hands of Helen.
01:42Helen.
01:43Diolch.
01:44Diolch, Nigel.
01:45Diolch fawr iawn.
01:47Ma'n anhynded i fi gael fy nhethol fel yr arweinydd newydd o Reform Cymru.
01:51Diolch.
01:52Ni yw dipodd y neud gwaith hynod o bwysig yma.
01:55Diolch.
01:56A dwi'n bwriadu adeiladu ar y gwaith yna.
01:58Diolch.
01:59Diolch.
02:00Diolch.
02:01Diolch.
02:05Diolch.
02:12Diolch.
02:14Diolch.
02:17Diolch.
02:18to account and will continue to
02:20build on our successes in order to
02:22work towards becoming the government
02:23in 2030. Thank you very much.
02:34Helen, thank you.
02:36As you can see, she's not lacking
02:37in confidence and she's going to do an absolutely great
02:40job. No political party
02:42goes through a period of time without having
02:44its ups and downs with people. That's the way that it is.
02:46I would just say this.
02:48We've provided a real voice of opposition
02:50here over the course of the last six months.
02:52Possibly the first real opposition
02:53this place has seen since
02:55devolution. And we will not
02:57be deterred or stopped in anywhere.
