00:00We learned yesterday, Craig, in a matter of fact, that Michael Penix Jr. will be under center for Atlanta, which
00:08is great.
00:10And you know what else is great?
00:12The simple fact that Atlanta's offense has been so terrible that they are the only team this season so far,
00:20Craig, that has not ran a play in the red zone.
00:25Not one play in the red zone have they had.
00:30My question was, it's disgusting.
00:33How is it that they announced this yesterday, so he was good to go yesterday, but on Sunday, he didn't
00:43even dress.
00:44Now, we asked Dr. Chow yesterday on the show, and he said it was not that the doctors hadn't cleared
00:49him to play on Sunday, but it was more that he just wasn't ready to come back.
00:56But on Monday, he's apparently ready to come back for Thursday night.
01:00I don't know what we're going to get from him, Craig, and that's the scary part with this Atlanta Falcons
01:07team right now.
01:08Yeah, I didn't know that stat about them not being in the red zone.
01:10And that is kind of crazy.
01:12So regardless of who they play, Atlanta now falls into a category of a team that I'm – look, obviously
01:21they're not good, but they're one of those teams where I'm not going to go on or against them.
01:26Because if there was ever a game even with a backup quarterback that they should have competed in, it was
01:31last week against Carolina.
01:32They should not have lost as bad as they did.
01:35I felt very foolish picking Atlanta.
01:37So they fall in the category with me like the Chargers where I think at this point I'm going to
01:44back off and let a few things play out, let a few weeks go before I start like automatically fading
01:50them.
01:50Because again, if you throw that graphic back on Thursday night, I mean the Packers haven't played well at all
01:56to be seven-point favorites.
01:58You know, like Joe, at all.
02:00Like for going on like ten games and the game's in Green Bay and it's Lambeau and it's fun and
02:06you're right, the Falcons aren't good and it's Penix.
02:09You know, but I really am not going to play that one.
02:12Like I don't know.
02:13I just – because I don't – it's not like they're playing Kansas City or they're playing some team that's
02:17playing – or even Minnesota for that matter that's playing good football.
02:21Right.
02:21I'm not sure about the Packers either.
02:23I've not been impressed watching them play.
02:25And the Jets probably should have won that game against the Packers on Sunday too.
02:29So that's a stay-away game for me.
02:32And the Falcons right now are a stay-away team for me until I see what the deal is.
02:38Joe, I was – that result – look, the Chargers result was very surprising.
02:43I thought the Chargers were easily going to beat the Raiders.
02:46And that was one of my picks on the show on Sunday for sure.
02:49But I was more surprised with Atlanta, Joe.
02:52Joe, in seasons where the Falcons, the Saints, and Carolina all play this little round robin, it didn't matter if
03:02it was Drew Brees.
03:03It didn't matter if it was Matt Ryan.
03:05None of it mattered.
03:06These teams would pull off upsets all the time.
03:08It was like you expect the unexpected, flip a coin in those games.
03:12That did not look like a coin flip game with Carolina and Atlanta.
03:15I was shocked to see Carolina do what they did to Atlanta there.
03:21I mean, I was flat-out shocked.
03:22Now, once they brought in the backup, obviously it was silly at that point.
03:25They weren't going to come back or even cover.
03:27But I can't play Atlanta on them, and I can't take the points, even though I'd love to take the
03:33points with them against Green Bay.
03:34Because the Packers – when was the last time they won a game by seven?
03:37I don't even know.
03:38But I will just stay away from Thursday night, I think, as of now, on that play specifically.
03:46Interesting stat and trend that I found out today about the NFC is that it's been over 30 years since
03:55a team from the NFC started the season 0-3 and made the playoffs.
04:01Atlanta is in that category, and Baker Mayfield and the Bucs are in that category.
04:08Now, Baker's got the Vikings.
04:10They are at home.
04:11And it seems kind of silly, Craig, with extra games and everything else that we're saying,
04:16oh, yeah, in September it's a must-win game.
04:2030-plus years in the NFC.
04:22You go 0-3, you're not making the postseason.
04:25Feels like this is a must-win game, no?
04:29Right.
04:29What's funny about this is that you brought it up.
04:31Like, Tom Brady, when he was at Tampa Bay, was incredible for two-plus years, whatever it was.
04:37He couldn't beat the Saints.
04:38The Bucs could not beat the Saints with Tom Brady.
04:41The Saints, no matter how bad they were, kept beating the Bucs.
04:44That's why this division is so wacky.
04:46Another game, Joe, where you're right.
04:47They have to win, but I don't want any part of that one, too.
04:50I'm going to have to find some games this week before the end of the week.
04:52I don't like a lot of them.
04:54You know what happens when teams have to win, right?
04:57Game time decisions.
