00:06Turns out, Jeff Kaplan took a tiny team into total stealth mode to build his dream game,
00:10and he just recently dropped a bunch of information on what the game actually is.
00:15It's called The Legend of California.
00:16It's an open-world survival FPS set on a mythical, untamed island version of 1840's Gold Rush, California.
00:23You will be exploring wild biomes, hunting wildlife, taking down hostile bandit camps,
00:27and building your own custom ranch complete with working mines and stables.
00:31Kaplan is a massive fan of Rust and loves Total Chaos, but he decided to do something completely different here.
00:37While people can hunt you down, and even wipe out your horse, base raiding is disabled,
00:41and they legally cannot touch your buildings, so nobody can blow up your hard work.
00:45On top of that, PvP is completely optional.
00:47If you just want to grab three friends, set up a private PvE server, and live out your cowboy fantasy
00:52without getting griefed, you can.
00:53To keep the world feeling fresh, servers wipe every month,
00:56shuffling the map strongholds and resetting your gear,
00:59but your permanent account unlocks and recipes carry over forever.
