00:09This is a devastating blow.
00:11This is an absolute devastating blow to the Giants season.
00:14And it doesn't matter.
00:15And here's what I'll say.
00:16Sure, as a Giants fan, do I think that there's a chance they win a couple games this year?
00:21Yeah.
00:22Do I think Jameis Winston can show what he's capable of showing last year?
00:26Do I think he's still somewhere near the guy who threw for 5,000 yards in the NFL,
00:31was the first overall pick, Heisman Trophy winner?
00:33Yeah.
00:33I still think he's one of the better backup quarterbacks.
00:36He didn't show it the other night in L.A., but I think he could be a serviceable quarterback.
00:40But the point is, the Giants season was based on winning football games, yes,
00:44but also the development of this quarterback, finding out he's your franchise quarterback,
00:49moving ahead with this coach and this quarterback, and that is officially done.
00:53This year is done.
00:54And we're at the point now where they're expecting a full recovery, and the ACL is intact,
00:58and it's more of an MCL and PCL and meniscus problem,
01:01and they expect him back for a full recovery next season.
01:04But who knows what that knee is now?
01:06Who knows if he's the future of the franchise?
01:08And this season that showed such promise against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday night
01:14is now effectively, okay, maybe they win some games.
01:18And it's about watching neighbors and see if he can stay healthy and develop.
01:20And it's about Carter, and it's about Reese, and it's about maybe coming together
01:25and seeing what this coach is.
01:26But the promise that this season could be anything is over.
