00:00The South Australian Government has consistently made clear to South Australian
00:04Police that we stand ready to do anything and everything we can to assist
00:08their efforts and recently we received a request from South Australian Police to
00:13facilitate a reward. Today I can announce that we are doing exactly that. The
00:19highest ever reward ever issued in the state's history is one million dollars.
00:25Today we match that effort and put in place a one million dollar reward for
00:32anyone that is able to provide information that results in us finding
00:38Gus or learning more about Gus's circumstances that leads to a finding of
00:43a body or resulting in a criminal conviction. The disappearance of our son
00:49Gus has been the most devastating and inexplicable event we have ever
00:53experienced. We love him more than words can convey and every single day without
01:00him has been incredibly difficult. Our heartache only grows as time passes and an
01:06entire year without any answers is upon us. Our memories of Gus are of a beautiful
01:12sweet and unique little boy who loved music listening to stories and playing in
01:17the natural world. Gus was growing up in an amazing environment, one that I cherish
01:24as my childhood home. He was learning so much and had such a bright future ahead of
01:29him but all of this has now been taken away from him. During the time Gus has been
01:36missing he should have celebrated his fifth birthday and his little brother's
01:40first birthday with us. One of the most heartbreaking things is that Gus and his
01:46little brother will not grow up and share their lives together.

01:55The love and support we have had from family and friends has been overwhelming.
02:00It has kept us going and helped us remain strong and hopeful for the future.
02:05We will never be able to thank them enough. We would also like to sincerely thank the
02:11community members, the SES volunteers, Australian Defence Force members and the
02:17police for working so hard to search for August. We miss Gus more than we can
02:23describe. We are desperate to have him returned
02:26home to us and we are desperate for answers.
02:31We believe that someone knows something. Someone knows what happened to Gus and may
02:37even know where he is. Even if you are feeling scared or unsure,
02:42if you know anything at all, we are imploring you to help us.

02:55This Sunday, on 27 September 2025, Gus went missing from his grandparents' property on Oak Park Station.
03:10Sadly, despite one of the largest search operations ever undertaken and one of the most intensive
03:18investigations relating to a missing person in South Australia, we are yet to locate Gus.
03:26As I said before, there has been 11 separate ground searches conducted and these searches have been
03:33the most visible aspect of this investigation.
03:3911 ground searches have been conducted over the last 12 months utilising hundreds of resources.
03:45Police, specialist police, mounted police, water operations police, field search controllers, SES,
03:51Australian Defence Force personnel, Aboriginal trackers, community volunteers. No stones being left unturned
03:56in relation to our search efforts. We have gone back time and time again.
04:02We have also had extensive aerial searching done. Police aircraft, drones, other aircraft fitted with
04:09specialist camera equipment that have captured detailed imagery of the landscape and surrounds of the Oak Park
04:16Homestead. This has covered an area of over 700 square kilometres. I've shown you this picture before.
04:25700 square kilometres is a significant, a very significant amount of land that's been searched,
04:31either aerially or on the ground.

04:37Recently, Task Force Horizon detectives have completed a painstaking, methodical,
04:44forensically detailed manual search of the aerial imagery that has been provided to us.
04:52This is in addition to the AI analysis that was done, and it was done to make sure that we
05:00are doing
05:00everything that we can to locate Gus. As a result of that manual searching, we have identified some anomalies
05:11in the imagery that has been provided to us. These anomalies are now being further reviewed,
05:21and depending on how that review plays out, will determine whether we return to Oak Park Station and
05:28conduct further searching. As I've outlined previously, Task Force Horizon detectives have been
05:36following three main lines of inquiry, and they were that Gus has wandered off and become lost,
05:43Gus has been abducted by a third party, or someone known to Gus has been involved in his disappearance.
05:51Two lines of those inquiry, namely Gus wandering off and Gus being abducted, remain unlikely.
06:01So far, we have no evidence to support those theories, despite consistent and exhaustive
06:10investigative efforts. The focus of Task Force Horizon remains on the third scenario, and that is
06:18the case that someone known to Gus has been involved in his disappearance and suspected death.
06:28As you're aware, I've previously stated that one of the grandparents is a suspect
06:33in our investigation. That has not changed, but I'm not going today to make any more comment
06:40or elaborate any further about the suspect in this particular investigation.
