00:20Yet Albanese said OpenAI informed Australia about the breach only on the 10th of September in an email sent to
00:28a government's generic address.
00:30Today I spoke with the CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, to express Australia's extreme concern about this incident.
00:40And I also expressed my disappointment that it took the company way too long to inform the government
00:46what had occurred and the nature of the way that that notification occurred as well was unacceptable.
00:55OpenAI said in a statement that it discovered during an activity review its models took actions it did not intend.
01:03An investigation is underway to determine whether OpenAI could be charged
01:07and a task force was launched to assess the effectiveness of Australia's response to AI-related cyber incidents.
01:14No personal information was believed to have been accessed at this stage.
