00:00So the front this week is a par 36 with two par fives and two par threes.
00:04And the back this week is a par 34 with two par threes.
00:08As mentioned before, we were talking about Nico, bent grass greens, bent grass fairways,
00:12and a bluegrass, that sticky bluegrass ryegrass rough you see kind of in the Midwest and the Northeast.
00:18You've been out there, you've walked the course, you mentioned you really like what you saw out there.
00:22Give us a breakdown on Medina number three.
00:24I think the OCM team just did an incredible job.
00:29I, for one, am a huge fan of what they've done at this golf course.
00:34I think a couple of the comments from, I think it was more the USA side,
00:38kind of just talking about how the fairways were playing maybe a fraction too wide for their liking.
00:43The golf course isn't firm.
00:45Tons, they had three inches of rain that came through over this past weekend.
00:49And I think there was just a little bit of concern of like, man, is this, it's just going to
00:54be,
00:55you know, is it going to play too easy?
00:56And I find that that's not going to be the case.
00:59I find that the golf course, especially the rough, when you miss the fairway, it's going to be four inches
01:04or so.
01:05So it's definitely a problem when you miss the fairway.
01:08And I find too that the way they use bunkers as a visual disruptance off of the tee,
01:15especially ones that are even like 200 yards off of the tee that have no, like that aren't in play
01:22at all.
01:22That sometimes just, they just play tricks on your, on your mind a little bit.
01:26And there's a couple holes that come to my brain, like the seventh, the par three,
01:31the green looks like it's half the size of what it is.
01:34But there's a bunker that's a hundred yards off the tee that's, that's like perfectly hiding the left side of
01:39the green.
01:40So there's just this visual deception that happens from a strategic standpoint off the tee where you're looking at your
01:45yardage book.
01:46You're like, wait, which bunker, what carry is that?
01:48And so I find that, I think you'll see a lot of the players, there's going to be good discussions
01:52of,
01:53Hey, what do you think here? Do you like this play? Should we play aggressive here?
01:56Or should we play a little safer? So I think that'll make for some fun discussion,
02:01especially in the foursome play on maybe even that drivable par four, the 12th hole.
02:07But when, when we look at the golf course and just the Creek, you know,
02:11there's the 17th that comes to mind for the old Medina and the par three,
02:15all the history that happened on that green. And then 13, two,
02:18which played a similar direction over the Creek, more like front and back.
02:21And I was talking to some of the Friday guys out there on the golf course and Andy's from this
02:26area.
02:26And he said like, they've, they've done a great job of getting the diagonals.
02:29And when I started thinking about the diagonals of that, of this Creek,
02:32or really a lake that kind of feeds into a larger Creek is what it looks like to me.
02:37It really is cool how the par threes have a little bit better angles to them.
02:41The drivable par four has a better angle. It's not as much up and back.
02:45And you feel like the water is,
02:47is less of a force carry and more of a part of the hole that if you're a
02:51little bit off left or right, then it would come into play.
02:54So I think job well done in the redo. I think you'll see, first off,
02:59it's going to look fantastic, fantastic on camera. This course is popping.
03:04It's green. It's lush. The bunkers look terrific.
03:07And I think it's a very proper test for these guys this week.
03:11Do you see an obvious advantage for either team, you know,
03:16in terms of suiting a skillset, you mentioned, you know,
03:19comparing this course to Royal Montreal where maybe we only played two sessions.
03:23I feel like this is a much better fit for him,
03:25or maybe are there a select few players on either side where you're like,
03:29this course is really going to suit their skillset. Well,
03:31I think the USA is a favorite for many reasons, but I just look at this golf course.
03:37I just, I just see that it potentially fits their team a little bit better.
03:41I think if it was a little firmer and the rough came into a little bit more play and
03:46it certainly does on some tee shots and you'll find yourself in a lot of fairway
03:51bunkers that are well below the level of the actual fairway where you got to
03:57hoist something up in the air. If the wind's blowing that definitely could come
04:00into play, but I still,
04:03I just can't see the international team winning this thing. If they did,
04:07I'd love to be wrong because it would make for some great conversation,
04:10some good TV and we'd probably be pointing and having a conversation about
04:15what's going on with team USA and why can't we figure this thing out as we head
04:18to a Ryder cup. So there's always that possibility.
04:20It's why we play the game, but just how I look at the USA team, you know,
04:26I, if anything, you could, could see that if rust is a possibility,
04:30but the team was here last week, they were, they were here.
04:32These guys have been practicing. Now who's going to be ready when the gun goes off?
