00:08sitting with Dwight Powell. We're just going to chat a little bit about fashion as well as
00:12how his offseason was and the upcoming season. So, Dwight, how was your offseason and did you
00:17work on anything specific of your game? Offseason was, sad to say, relatively uneventful. I was in
00:24the gym and literally that's about it. Yeah, okay. No travel, no. Nothing? Just in the gym.
00:32Laying low. Well, you've been through so many different eras of Mavericks basketball. What
00:37feels different about this team and this new lineup of guys and also a coach? I mean, it's in a
00:42lot of
00:42ways a clean slate. So, we got a lot of young guys, obviously new staff. There's been a lot of
00:48change
00:48this offseason. So, I'm really looking forward to seeing this group come together and find a way
00:56to be successful. And we do have some older guys, some vets that can lend a hand and leave in
01:02whatever
01:03way they see necessary. But I'm more excited for how this team is going to synergize and come together
01:09with all this young talent. Yes. And so, speaking of young talent and you being one of the veterans,
01:13how does your role apply to getting those guys acclimated and who are very young, as young as
01:1820 years old? Yeah, we got some. Yeah. I think first and foremost is leading by example.
01:26Allowing them, you know, access to me and letting them resource in whatever capacity they feel they
01:32need some guidance or some help. But I think it's a long season, longer than most of these guys are
01:38used to. So, showing that consistency and showing up every day and leading by example.
01:44And so, I have to ask you, because there's word around town. And also, personally, I think you're
01:49one of the best-dressed players in the NBA. So, what can we expect from Dwight Powell this season?
01:55What era of fashion are we channeling?
02:00Like I said, this summer was spent in the gym. So, I have nothing loaded, like locked and ready.
02:07So, it's going to be shooting from the hip this season.
02:10So, hopefully, our schedule allows for some shopping to be in the NBA, but we'll see.
02:16For sure. And what do you say is the culprit behind your love for fashion?
02:21I mean, my mom loves clothes. So, growing up, I saw closets overflowing. Mostly, like, work wear stuff, like
02:32women's pantsuits and whatnot. Yeah, I love, I love fine tailoring. I love, you know, street wear and high five.
02:41Like, I like, I just like the aesthetics of all of it. So, I try to mix and match where
02:44I can.
02:44So, a fun question is, if there was anyone on the team, whose closet would you go shopping in?
02:50Shopping in?
02:51Yes.
02:53Long and hard, everybody.
02:56Not including your own.
02:58Since you shop there regularly.
03:03I don't know if your clothes would fit, per se, but I like Kai. Kai has his own very unique
03:10style, which I think is what the definition of style should be. It's something that's, you know, unique to you
03:15and something that suits you. So, I like what he has going on.
