00:51But also, they're not putting him in on IR.
00:53He might go out there and try and play quarterback with a J.J.

00:57So this whole thing is bizarre.

01:00It's a very weird situation at the quarterback position right now in that division with these
01:04two teams and what we're looking at.
01:05And it's compounded by the fact that there is pressure on them that when you start 0-2,
01:12then the pressure is, well, don't put him on IR because then we know we can't get him
01:15back for four weeks.
01:16Like maybe we can sneak him in in three.
01:17And I think that's the mentality they're taking right now.
01:19Now, the good thing is, if you look at some of the numbers of, let's say, Tara McLaurin
01:24with Marcus Mariota, they've played a good chunk of games together.
01:27And the stats are actually pretty good.
01:29He's had almost 800 receiving yards, just a little hair under that four touchdowns in
01:34the nine games he's played with him.
01:35So that's pretty good.
01:36That means he can still sustain.
01:37But this matchup against the Seahawks defense is difficult.
01:40They've given up 16 points all year.
01:42And now the team total for the Washington Commanders is 16 and a half today.
01:45I find that hard to believe with Mariota.
01:47And going back real quick, just to circle back to what you were talking about with Winston.
01:50Yeah, I do think there's a lot of prove it today.
01:52You give him a week of practice with the ones, see how it goes against the Titans, a lesser
01:56opponent, but a difficult situation with wind and rain and other elements in that game.
02:00And what's problematic to a further extent is you can't pull away Mac Jones from San Francisco
02:05because he was so good in that offense last year.
02:08God forbid something happens to Purdy.
02:09They have an option to break the glass open and have somebody that they think they can win

02:14Same thing with the Bengals with Joe Flacco and other like there's guys.

02:23But the problem is like the teams that have the backup quarterbacks that you want don't
02:26want to give them up because they could easily find themselves in the same scenario in any

02:32Yeah, I've often been critical of the Cincinnati Bengals in years past who come into seasons
02:40with a not real option at backup quarterback.
02:44It's like guys, you know, Burrow is injury prone.
02:48I mean, just he might be unlucky, right?
02:51Again, like I'm not calling any one of these players fragile, but Joe Burrow misses time.
