00:17Designing and building a vehicle was at the back of my mind, so I kept visiting garages and collecting scrap
00:23from four-wheelers.
00:25Swaraj, who studies at Vikash Residential School, spent three months putting the vehicle together.
00:31He collected discarded parts, then assembled the motor, battery, steering and braking systems needed to make it run.
00:39He wanted to drive a vehicle he had designed himself.
00:42He also wanted it to run on electricity with solar power to help address charging and battery backup for use
00:49at night.
00:51It was my dream to sit in a vehicle I had designed, and I followed my passion.
00:57VOLTEX has a 48-volt, 800-watt brushless DC motor, a 48-volt battery and disc brakes.
01:05Swaraj says it can reach about 25 kilometers per hour.
01:09Charging takes three to four hours, and the project costs approximately 1 lakh rupees.
