00:00Detectives are continuing to try to put a name to a woman whose body was found in a bin bag
00:06in Stanley Park.
00:07Merseyside Police launched a murder investigation after her remains were discovered in a walled garden on Friday the 28th of
00:15August.
00:16More than a month on, her identity remains unknown.
00:19I'd like to provide some further information in relation to the description of the woman.
00:25We, from her friends at work, have been able to say now that she has no teeth, top or bottom.
00:30And I mention that because I know people have been asking about dental records and whether we've done any checks.
00:35She has no teeth, so that line of inquiry we have pursued.
00:39In terms of age range, we're going to open that up to between 60 and 80 years of age.
00:46We've always said that we're around 70, but I'm just conscious of not missing people out who think actually she
00:51might be a bit younger, a bit older, so I won't call into the police.
00:54So it just opens that age range up.
00:57Also, the woman was suffering with a number of medical conditions, so she had osteoporosis, COPD and arthritis.
01:06And we also believe she was malnourished.
01:08So whether that's through neglect or whether that's through her age, we're not sure.
01:12But clearly, it's a woman, an older woman, who had some vulnerabilities through her health conditions.
01:19So in terms of trying to jog people's memories about people that they've not seen for a while, in terms
01:25of her age, health conditions,
01:29are really keen to jog people's memories and see whether they can come forward with any information.
01:33Detectives believe her body may have been in the park since the first week of July.
01:38Police describe her as white, five foot two inches tall, with a small build and strawberry blonde hair.
01:45She was wearing a pink Nike t-shirt when she was found.
01:49Merseyside police say officers have eliminated 126 women who members of the public contacted them about after raising concerns.
01:59Detectives have also reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV footage and carried out 900 home visits.
02:07Police say they've been working with partner agencies, including the National Crime Agency, as they continue efforts to identify her.
02:15This woman, we have no name for her.
02:17I would love, I know the investigation team would love to give her a name to identify who she is.
02:23It is, you know, she's been found in a bin bag in a park.
02:26And to appeal from me, please, if you've got any information about what's happened to this woman, please come forward.
