00:30...and that certainly was Matthew's story.
00:33I was extremely happy when I got famous.
00:37Then I was like, uh-oh, this didn't fix what's inside me.
00:40This didn't do what I thought it was gonna do.
00:42My brother would talk about that feeling of emptiness
00:45or loneliness that he couldn't quite fill.
00:48He spent $7 million trying to get sober.
00:52That's how seriously he took his disease.
00:55I had people telling me to stop, say,
00:57you're gonna kill yourself if you keep going like this.
01:00And I just didn't know how.
01:02The world is saying goodbye to a beloved actor
01:06and one of our best friends.
01:12So this is the funny part of the documentary.
01:16As Matthew's buddy for 40 years,
01:19he would definitely want everyone to talk about how great he was.
01:23He meant so much in so many ways.
01:27Matthew recognized this is an area
01:30where he could really make a huge difference.
01:32I wanted to introduce myself and say that my name is Matthew
01:35and I'm an alcoholic.
01:36He saved my life right there in that moment.
01:38I believe that.
01:41How funny he was.
01:43When he made people laugh, it made him feel good.
01:47To have that connection with an audience
01:49is a wonderful, sacred thing.
01:54And how we miss him.
01:57I missed you guys.
01:59I missed all of you.
02:07I missed all of you.
