00:04We have a conversation about a great number of things, certainly China was among top issues, the freedom of the
00:20people of Tibet, his representation of freedom across the globe, just as we believe that the United States of America
00:27is representation of freedom across the globe.
00:29We discussed a great many things.
00:33This is Diki with Radio Free Asia. China's ethnic unity and progress law has raised concern about a potential impact
00:40beyond China. What is your view on threat of transnational depression for the Tibetans living inside the United States?
00:46The threat from China in terms of transnational depression is far-reaching. China will reach to anywhere that they can.
00:57They've proven that. They will observe people. They will send spies to different countries.
01:04They will send police to different countries to observe anybody that they can and repress what they do not want
01:10to see. They will expand that to any country across the globe.
01:14Their threats go well beyond that. They will harvest the organs of people. They will spy on our countries. They
01:19will steal our intellectual property.
01:22They will take what does not belong to them. The threats from them are extensive. We do not believe in
01:28the same things. We believe in freedom and democracy for all of our people, that people are born with certain
01:36inalienable rights, that the government is not meant to provide them but protect them.
01:41These are fundamental differences between what China represents and what America represents and what the people of Tibet seek.
01:50So you said that China was among discusses with His Holiness.
01:56Yes.
01:56But following the recent visit by Xi Jinping to Washington, D.C., will that have any implications on the U
02:03.S. outlook to Tibet and the Tibetan issues?
02:05My second question is, a new bipartisan law called the Future Act, assuring the more optimistic the delegation is on
02:14the passage of that bill?
02:15His Holiness also believes that it's important to meet with leaders across the globe. As I do, as President Trump
02:22does, His Holiness believed that it was important that President Trump meet with Xi Jinping.
02:27They are two leaders of the world's biggest and strongest countries across the globe.
02:32So, yes, it's very important and it should happen. It doesn't take away in any way for believing that China
02:39should not be repressing its people, should not be repressing the Tibetan people or the Uyghur people or take your
02:46pick of people, but rather working to embrace freedom and support freedom across the globe.
