00:03black holes are still one of our universe's greatest mysteries massive distant bodies
00:08capable of gobbling up anything and everything that crosses their event horizons however experts
00:13now say they're not all distant and they're not all massive and tiny ones could float through
00:18our solar system and cause observable effects experts say that primordial black holes or pbhs
00:24were formed mere moments after the big bang these black holes were formed without nearly as much
00:28matter as later ones as there simply wasn't enough stuff to collapse into a normal black hole however
00:33they could still do so because the conditions in the initial moments after the big bang were much
00:37different than today as space as we know it was expanding and near the speed of light astronomers
00:42have long believed that these black holes which are around the mass of a giant asteroid and the
00:46size of an atom could wander around the universe and experts have just calculated that we are likely
00:51visited by one of them around every 10 years they also found that if one of them comes within just
00:55280 million miles of mars we could be able to detect that as it would effectively cause mars to wobble
01:01on
01:02its axis that shift would equate to around 3.3 feet of martian movement over 10 years but that's
01:07measurable experts add that as a pba trips through our solar system at nearly 450 000 miles per hour it
01:14could also affect the trajectories of asteroids and other cosmic objects as well
