00:16Iran is drawing attention with a striking and unusual display of its Shahed-136 attack drones.
00:24Pink and blue painted Shahed-136 drones have appeared at public rallies and military events across Iran, creating a very
00:34different visual image of a weapon widely associated with modern warfare.
00:39But beneath the bright colors, there is no major new drone variant.
00:44These are standard Shahed-136 airframes featuring colorful paint schemes for public displays and events.
00:51The pink versions began attracting attention in April 2026 during celebrations associated with Iranian girls and daughters.
01:01Iranian state media showed pink Shahed-136 drones mounted on vehicles and displayed at events in Tehran and other Iranian
01:11cities.
01:11In some displays, the drones appeared alongside crowds and other military equipment, turning the familiar attack drone into a highly
01:21visible centerpiece of public events.
01:23Later, pink and blue Shahed-136 drones appeared together at a nationwide rally in Kermanshaw, held in honor of Iranian
01:33boys and girls.
01:34Similar displays were subsequently reported in other parts of Iran, with the colorful drones appearing at rallies and military-linked
01:42gatherings.
01:43But what exactly is underneath that unusual paint?
01:47The Shahed-136 is a relatively low-cost, propeller-driven, delta-wing, one-way attack drone.
01:55It is designed to fly toward a designated target and detonate its warhead on impact.
02:01The system can be deployed in large numbers, making mass attacks and saturation of air defenses one of its key
02:08battlefield characteristics.
02:10The drone has become especially well-known because of its use by Russia in Ukraine.
02:16Russia operates a modified version known as the Garon-2, which has been used extensively in attacks against Ukrainian targets.
02:25Iran has also developed and deployed the Shahed family as part of its expanding unmanned weapons capabilities.
02:32Despite the unusual pink and blue paint, however, the basic Shahed-136 design remains unchanged.
02:41The colors do not represent a fundamentally different propulsion system, guidance system, or weapons platform.
02:48Instead, the displays place a familiar military drone in an unexpected public setting.
02:54The contrast is hard to miss.
02:57A weapon designed for one-way attacks and long-range strikes is being presented in bright pink and blue at
03:04highly visible public events.
03:06And while the appearance may be unusual, the underlying system remains the same Shahed-136 that has become one of
03:14the most recognizable drones in modern war.
