00:00:07to get to as the Cleveland Browns sit here three and one atop the AFC North plus the divisional
00:00:14series are set after the Braves win the deciding game three in sin Philadelphia packing we'll get
00:00:21into it we got Joe Thomas coming up this hour to talk all things NFL and probably his Browns as
00:00:27well we got the bear we're going to preview a weekend of college football of NFL money corner
00:00:32the film room with crawlers it's going to be a fantastic show and it all starts now on FS1
00:00:45good start to the day
00:01:01what's happening boys welcome in T-Bow baby I'm Michael Cady we got chief data beers and mega making money
00:01:07with you today hope everybody's having a great Friday guys how we doing guys
00:01:11four hats on the panel oh wow four forwards hats to add it up uh we are we are uh
00:01:17Megan would you like to throw a hat on thanks for the memo guys yeah I know sorry we didn't
00:01:22mean to leave you out guys I know I know
00:01:24we've already got the woman stuck in the corner now we're not telling her wearing hats this is crazy yeah
00:01:29there we go Meg looking good thanks man uh yeah guys I don't know man it's it's it's October spooky
00:01:36season is here it's the month of orange very appropriate that the Cleveland Browns now sit at
00:01:41three and one boy Cady you're a stiller sin how we feeling the I mean it was actually a very
00:01:50exciting
00:01:51fun game way better than I thought it was going to be but our offensive line cannot block anything
00:01:58Rogers whenever someone was is in like within two yards of him he just goes down gives up
00:02:04um yeah it's just a boring brand of football that the Steelers play and I'm I'm just over it I'm
00:02:09over it
00:02:09yeah I mean you mentioned it being a fun game I I kind of disagree it was really it was
00:02:15I thought it was
00:02:15pretty miserable until the fourth quarter obviously right in classic NFL Mario Kart fashion it's like
00:02:21somehow the guy gets like the lightning power up the star and it's suddenly it's it's a close finish
00:02:27but uh but let's start with the Browns I'm actually happy for the Browns Deshaun Watson
00:02:35it it's where the story has started he plays pretty good last night he has his moment he he he
00:02:41leads
00:02:41the game-winning field goal drive after the Steelers come all the way back to tie it in that fourth
00:02:46the couple of touchdown drives and it appears that he might be winning over those Cleveland fans
00:02:52tall task because you you'd have to you win three games in Cleveland you're a king he's a very
00:02:58obviously kind of unlikable guy but it's an undeniably like pretty good story like this is
00:03:02the guy that we saw in Houston where he got that huge contract to go to Cleveland after after all
00:03:08his
00:03:08uh issues but yeah he looked good I hate to say it but he looked good I I just can't
00:03:13believe the
00:03:14Browns are sitting at three and one that I mean when was the last time that they're sitting in first
00:03:17place at the end of uh the first four weeks it would be a wild Eric Anderson Baker Mayfield one
00:03:23of those teams maybe I think they went uh they made the playoffs once with Baker yeah I think
00:03:29they won a playoff game for sure yeah they beat the Steelers they beat the Steelers the last time
00:03:33that they actually scored 21 and a quarter I think might have been that playoff game against the Steelers
00:03:37in fact they only scored 21 three times all of last season they scored in the second quarter alone
00:03:42last night and look yes Watson is Watson's been solid I don't think he's been great uh the the
00:03:49the fumble was it was still pretty bad he had another fumble that he got lucky to dive on
00:03:53um on the last drive he had the interception so like there's there's still stuff to clean up
00:03:59but he's doing enough they seem to be improving and and really what it mainly is I think it's two
00:04:05things first the we all know the Browns have drafted well right that's a good young team everywhere
00:04:10outside of quarterback they seem to be gaining in confidence that is coming to the floor and then
00:04:16I think Todd Munkin's a really good coach dude for all the of all the jokes we made about giving
00:04:21a
00:04:21you know a guy who's over 60 his his first chance to to be a head coach if you look
00:04:27at what he's done
00:04:28every stop that he's been at whether it's with Lamar and Baltimore even going back to Georgia
00:04:32yeah which Stetson Bennett which I mean Georgia hasn't been the same that's when they won the
00:04:36back-to-back they have been the same since he left and now getting this out of the Browns
00:04:40and Deshawn credit to Todd Munkin he's the guy that I think should be most celebrated for the
00:04:46start is it real uh Cleveland yeah it's real uh relatively right I I have no again I have no
00:04:57illusions about a a championship ceiling for the Cleveland Browns but uh playoff team certainly
00:05:04okay which for them is akin to a championship because I mean they look they they have a lot of
00:05:09they got a pretty solid offensive line it looks like now uh they got a lot of youth and talent
00:05:14at
00:05:14the skill positions look at those receivers with Denzel Boston and and and obviously uh Casey
00:05:20Concepcion and Judy uh the defense is great I'm worried about Mason Graham Mason Graham going down
00:05:26the interior D line Mikey's a tough loss yeah yeah I don't know it looks I think they said knee
00:05:31he was
00:05:31walking off the field they they didn't need a full cart off but it didn't look great when he was
00:05:36down on
00:05:36the field so he's the best player I've ever yeah he's the best player I've ever played against oh
00:05:41you actually got to go against Mason Graham oh for like he's an absolute demon yeah so good how much
00:05:46of that suck it was the worst I we played at Michigan and he picked up a fumble and I
00:05:52tried to tackle
00:05:53him and he carried me on his back for like 50 I'll never forget that that was no stop uh
00:05:59yes oh sorry
00:06:01Danny go ahead the uh the Browns though it's it's a fun story so far especially after that first game
00:06:05we saw Deshaun Watson I think his first or second pass was picked off and you're like oh same old
00:06:11Brownies and to see them win three in a row and T-Bob I don't know I what I saw
00:06:16out of Deshaun Watson
00:06:17last night I saw some kind of flashes of Texans Deshaun Watson where he was moving in the pocket he
00:06:26was
00:06:26evading rushers and he would he would kind of be stuck in the pocket for a second he'd make a
00:06:30move
00:06:30like he's like 2019 Deshaun Watson so yeah I mean three stuff three things stuck out to me it's the
00:06:37young receivers Denzel Boston he's that deep threat type of guy and the defense obviously getting to
00:06:43Rodgers they had I think five or six sacks and then Todd Munkin just really seems like like that
00:06:48culture setting coach so I'm rooting for him I'm rooting for the Browns I think this is a cool story
00:06:52so far early in the season and we'll see if it's sustainable but I think their over under was
00:06:57five and a half wins maybe four and a half wins so will they get there will they get they're
00:07:02playing
00:07:02the Jets they're playing the Titans they obviously have you know the Bengals and Ravens so they feel
00:07:07at least like an eight win team it would be an abject disaster if they didn't hate eight wins I
00:07:12like
00:07:12when there's the bad traditional loser teams like the Bears have this come up I feel like the Jets are
00:07:18pretty good I feel like the Raiders might be okay the Browns are right in that group like somebody
00:07:23like one of those teams I think are going to end up in the playoffs and I think that's a
00:07:26great story
00:07:27that's where the Deshaun factor just makes it so hard for me yeah to work through on a on a
00:07:32personal
00:07:32level is if anybody else is a quarterback yes I'd be like banging the drum for the Browns right now
00:07:39oh man the the most miserable fan base in the entire NFL's history you could argue finally having a
00:07:46little bit of hope but I I mean I don't know Meg how do how do you feel about it
00:07:51um I don't know
00:07:52watching these two teams play last night between Rogers just literally conceding every single guy
00:07:59I mean he was again as Cade was saying he was folding which I mean at 42 years old why
00:08:04wouldn't
00:08:04you just fold yeah on the other side I don't know if necessarily like I believe in the Browns yes
00:08:09Deshaun Watson looked great but I mean I feel like we've seen flashes from Deshaun Watson before that
00:08:14ended up not playing out in his favor but just a tale of two different places right now I'll say
00:08:20this I'm just happy for Browns fans yeah I'm happy for everybody in the Browns organization
00:08:28outside Deshaun Watson and T-Bub I I don't want to speak for Browns fans but I would guess
00:08:35most of them don't care who's playing quarterback as long as they're winning ball games no I agree
00:08:40but this is but this is the great irony that we point out multiple times for the season if the
00:08:43Browns are actually good it's going to be this crazy thing where they've been wandering the desert
00:08:47looking for a quarterback for 40 years they finally make the playoffs with the quarterback and it's a
00:08:52guy they can't keep yeah like they gotta go find another solution so I it's one that's universally not
00:08:58liked as well so just just you know what I don't enjoy it Browns fans three and one that's all
00:09:03just focus on that I don't think they worry about the future yeah you can't you know like not in
00:09:08this
00:09:08situation no also right now they got the guards in the postseason the Browns are three and oh Ohio
00:09:13State besides for that their one loss I mean they're rolling Ohio should be should be up right
00:09:18now that's true and and I mean even like even the Bengals look pretty good all right uh now on
00:09:24the
00:09:25other side of the docket I don't know if I'm a Steelers fan it's bad like like what do you
00:09:33like
00:09:34okay we make fun of the Browns quarterback situation the Steelers is no better no you're
00:09:38running out uh you're spinning your wheels here with Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers right we spend
00:09:44so much money on our defense for them just to not tackle you trade we were talking last night in
00:09:50the
00:09:50cave like no one could tackle on their defense it was insane Raj Raj and McCarthy just going at it
00:09:58they know I know they have a lot of history but they seem a little pissed off well yeah I
00:10:03mean
00:10:03Rodgers saying what the blank call it and then you can clearly say McCarthy saying uh well you
00:10:12saw what he said you saw you you saw what he said which is funny because that is kind of
00:10:16how like a lot
00:10:16of people I think feel about Aaron Rodgers and and they've worked together for a long time now
00:10:22after the game this is what McCarthy said about their uh their interaction I think the biggest thing
00:10:27Burton said something about some uh something on the tv um but yeah I communication sometimes is not
00:10:36the best choice of words but we're everybody's competing on the field and I think you know um
00:10:42what's said on the field the way I grew up in this game you know usually stays on the field
00:10:47that's not the
00:10:47case today I understand that but um yeah any negative communication on my part I wish I wouldn't
00:10:54use those words how about that Pittsburgh accent yeah it's good it's coming out more and more
00:11:01it feels like oh my father now I I would say this I don't think that the actual interaction is
00:11:08a big
00:11:08deal that's whatever that's football what fine the but why are the Steelers having so much trouble
00:11:13getting the play in it's been delays delay of games all season long obviously Rodgers is triggered
00:11:18or triggered about it like it's supposed to be McCarthy's bread and butter why is the operation
00:11:22so poor I like the usually because this has been happening all year usually in practice you figure it
00:11:29out and you work on getting the play in me I don't know if it's communication from the offense
00:11:34coordinator I don't know what's going on but Raj seems pissed and they got to figure it out because
00:11:39it's causing a lot of problems and that just ruins the whole like the the culture of the of the
00:11:48team
00:11:48when you just can't get stuff going well and it's well it's just no excuse for that veteran of a
00:11:52head
00:11:52coach and that veteran right play caller to not have that figured out so you got those two old guys
00:11:58uh like I said there's no quarterbacks you trade Joey Porter jr clearly your best corner because you
00:12:03have this old school rule you don't want to negotiate during the season then Jamel Dean ends up getting
00:12:08his ankle hurt so you're down your new CB1 like DK Metcalf even in a great game but he's still
00:12:14probably one of the less uh least exciting wide receiver ones in the entire league we we spent all
00:12:21yesterday pumping up the rookie alignment ahead of core because he was awesome last week he played
00:12:26terrible last time he let up Rodgers arm get on the hit on the pick uh he gave up a
00:12:32sack that that led
00:12:33to the missed field goal gave him another sack of the fourth he had a false start Darnell Washington
00:12:38is the only fun part about the Pittsburgh Steelers right now he's the most fun player to watch in
00:12:44the whole team it's so boring can I say one thing Shaq it's so funny like 18 times on that
00:12:51final two
00:12:52minute uh possession uh just from an Aaron Rodgers perspective I do want to say this he looks better
00:12:58than what I had expected out of a 42 year old quarterback yes he goes down very easily and when
00:13:03he gets rushed and and there's a tight pocket like he gets uncomfortable but like his arm power is still
00:13:09there yeah he's still throwing bombs so like the no look passes too are still very much I thought he
00:13:16was gonna on that with 10 seconds to go when they got the ball back I'm like he's gonna throw
00:13:20a Hail Mary
00:13:21and beat the Browns like that's exactly what's gonna happen yeah I'm surprised he went straight
00:13:25I agree I thought they tried to do it 15 yards they had a timeout that was crazy Rodgers I'm
00:13:31sorry
00:13:31like I I I do see somewhere you're saying Dana because again the touchdown throw where he's on
00:13:36the run yesterday he throws it back to get it into the window back shoulder that's like that that's
00:13:41crazy but he does not have the arm strength that he used to so not trying to advance it 15
00:13:4720 yards
00:13:47you had a timeout before the Hail Mary was was I I thought it's really dumb I don't just don't
00:13:52know if they believe in Boswell he hasn't been y'all are just old you can see it in his
00:13:57eyes that
00:13:58he's he's tired yeah he's tired dude I'm tired he's older than us dude by like half a decade they're
00:14:04gonna be nine and eight they're gonna make the wild card there's no they're not bro there's no way
00:14:09pull up that schedule again here all right we'll do quick Steelers schedule before we get to
00:14:12baseball but there's I there's no way the Steelers should go in nine and eight every year I know I
00:14:17like a bit but I'm done I'm done being like gaslit by Rodgers the offense is so limited he's old
00:14:23there now that next floor looks like two and two to me
00:14:27yeah every four does kind of look like yeah I'm telling you T-Bob when we come back here and
00:14:37they're eight nine nine and eight I want an apology no no it ain't happening all right so
00:14:42the wild card round the MLB wrapped up last night we had one game three from the wild card uh
00:14:48series
00:14:49and that was Braves Phillies uh the Braves come out last night and immediately jump on Aaron Nola yeah
00:14:57I mean Aaron Nola legend of the game he's old at this point shortest postseason out of his career
00:15:02second shortest outing of his career full stop Braves go up early they never look back
00:15:09Chief it just felt like the Phillies had the life sucked out of him from the beginning here
00:15:13yeah and it felt like the Phillies might have been one of those teams that could get hot at the
00:15:18right
00:15:18time Harper Schwarber they have the power arms it's almost like they're kind of built for the playoffs
00:15:23but the Braves just outmatched them they were ready to go uh Matt Olsen there with the big bomb
00:15:28so yeah I mean the Braves were you know they got the the right to host that they're the better
00:15:34team
00:15:34all year and they took advantage of it in that uh that key game three but I gotta tell you
00:15:39my joy for
00:15:41baseball has been sucked out of me yeah I I didn't even have this on last night I had the
00:15:46the Blackhawks
00:15:47and then on the big tv I had football so I just the Cubs have killed me when it comes
00:15:52to baseball
00:15:53good luck to the Braves or whoever else very fun day in Chicago local sports talk I've never lived
00:16:00in a major city that has like two professional teams and so that was fascinating yesterday listening
00:16:05to callers uh berate one another from the from the same city Meg yes the Phillies core is this the
00:16:14last
00:16:15that we see of this current Philadelphia iteration that has had so much success but now appears to be
00:16:22well going in the wrong direction um I'm gonna go and say no I feel like that yes it's going
00:16:30in the
00:16:30wrong direction but they do have the offense to do anything they want when they're clicking um
00:16:36maybe we need to work on like pitching rotation a little bit but again having the people that you do
00:16:42in Schwarber and Harper and Boehm I mean you could just go down the lineup I don't think we're done
00:16:48we had the same conversation about them this time last year where it's like what do you do
00:16:53Schwarber's a free agent maybe it's time finally to blow it up and start over and then they're like
00:16:57oh let's run it back one more time and they get to the exact same spot basically and fall short
00:17:03so I
00:17:03I don't know who knows what's going to happen the work stoppage everything maybe this is the right time
00:17:08for for some of these teams to transition into a new era um the Cubs included uh but I feel
00:17:15like the
00:17:15Phillies like how many times can you run the same core back and expect something different
00:17:20well uh it means that the divisional series are now set we got Yankees Rays Padres Brewers Dodgers Braves
00:17:27and Guardian Sox very fun we'll talk about a bit more later on but right now let's welcome in
00:17:34coming up after the break NFL Hall of Famer Joe Thomas get his thoughts on how real this Cleveland
00:17:40Browns team is plus the rest of the NFL as well don't go in there we got more Wake Up
00:17:45Barstool
00:17:49welcome back to Wake Up Barstool so every single Friday we are so lucky we are joined by NFL
00:17:55Hall of Famer the man who's also got Hall of Fame beef talking about Joe Thomas one of the best
00:18:02to
00:18:02ever do it Joe what's up babe how we doing today oh never been better boys thanks for having me
00:18:07on
00:18:07today after last night's Browns victory I'm riding high all the way through the weekend there's a lot
00:18:12of belief in Wisconsin and Ohio right now let's go yeah I mean guys again uh yeah of course Wisconsin
00:18:18everything's coming up Joe Thomas let's start with the Browns uh three and one here we sit at the
00:18:26beginning of October uh in sole possession of first place in the AFC North is this real is this real
00:18:34is
00:18:35it sustainable and if it is why is it you know it's so real it doesn't feel real because you
00:18:42know
00:18:42I'm so used to talking about the Browns draft choices already in October and to finally just
00:18:48be able to sit here and go ah we're talking about actually the Browns this year and this team and
00:18:54these
00:18:54players and the what ifs like that's what's fun about being a fan and right now that's the fun in
00:19:00the
00:19:00Browns fan base whether it continues or not I think that remains to be seen I think you know
00:19:05Deshaun Watson's playing better football he's clutch right he three straight game winning drives to finish
00:19:11the game so he's finishing uh people out and he's able to deliver the football where they need to
00:19:17in the clutch moments but he still has a lot of turnovers there's still some decision making ball
00:19:22security issues that are coming up but he's making the plays when they count he's given his team some
00:19:28hope and some belief their defense is playing great really they're carrying him and I think for
00:19:32Browns fans like we just want to enjoy the moment just without quantifying or qualifying every single
00:19:37thing like we usually have to as fans and just believe in somebody and something and that's Todd
00:19:43Munkin and this culture that he's brought to the Cleveland Browns and this defense that they're
00:19:47riding right now it's just fun for once to be a Browns fan uh Joe last night a lot was
00:19:53made of
00:19:54Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy yelling at each other it was very funny I mean the mic picked it
00:19:58up you can clearly see what McCarthy said back uh how how normal is that like take take us into
00:20:06the
00:20:06NFL huddle how normal is is any of that a big deal I mean if it was a rookie quarterback
00:20:12yelling at his
00:20:13head coach that had been around 20 years maybe it's a different conversation but Mike McCarthy and Aaron
00:20:18Rodgers have worked together for a really really long time I mean they're basically married and married
00:20:22people they yell at each other it happens right in the heat of the moment they're fired up they both
00:20:28know there's no ill will and that they are eventually are going to get on the same page but in
00:20:32that moment
00:20:32right Aaron's trying to communicate something to Mike on the sideline Mike's trying to communicate to
00:20:38him they're trying to get on the same page it's a road game emotions are high those are things that
00:20:42just happen right it's not a huge deal unless you're my 10 year old Jack Thomas and I had to
00:20:47run
00:20:47downstairs to grab a beef stick because I was getting a little hungry during the game and he runs down
00:20:50and goes
00:20:51dad dad the camera caught Aaron Rodgers saying the F word to his coach and he could not believe what
00:20:57just happened like he's a huge Browns fan he was very excited to see the team win but I think
00:21:02he was
00:21:03more excited to see and hear that on national television oh shout out Jack man that's awesome
00:21:08who's the pup back there that keeps that keeps walking behind you Joe yeah that's my dog dog he's my
00:21:14lab and uh he's like I know we're going to the farm today dad and so he's just pacing right
00:21:19he's just
00:21:19doing circles around the desk right now I mean great name uh all right sorry David go ahead Joe
00:21:25um you talk a little bit about uh Todd Monk and being that culture setter what have you seen out
00:21:29of
00:21:29him just uh as the head coach and what has changed with him uh leading up the team you've seen
00:21:36him
00:21:36have some good sound bites after the games and kind of an electric guy so what do you what have
00:21:40you
00:21:40noticed out of him as the head coach of the Browns he's a first time head coach 60 years old
00:21:46so you would think maybe I don't know does he relate to these younger players does he relate
00:21:51to this generation or not and uh I think he's answering that in spades because he's authentic
00:21:58and you hear it in those press conferences you know like when coach Tomlin was on tv and said
00:22:02the Browns is going to do the Browns things you know Browns are the Browns he went back out and
00:22:06was
00:22:07like f that I don't really care what anybody says about this team or what's happened in the past like
00:22:12this is my version of the Cleveland Browns I'm going to install the culture that I want which
00:22:18is accountability which is toughness which is working hard which is attention to details and
00:22:23those are the things that are permeating right now throughout the team they're finding a way to win
00:22:27even with tons of mistakes and a bunch of young players but they're gutting it out and I think that's
00:22:32a reflection on the head coach and the culture that he installed as soon as he got there that's all
00:22:36he
00:22:37wanted to talk about it's that accountability it's the expectations he doesn't care who's back there
00:22:41he doesn't care what has happened in the past he's ripped that rearview mirror off and he said
00:22:46you know what I'm going to name Deshaun Watson the starting quarterback I'm not looking at
00:22:50Shadour Sanders because he might be our best quarterback for next year or the year after
00:22:54he's like I want to win week one and if we don't win week one I'm going to try to
00:22:57win week two and
00:22:59he's just taking the season one game at a time and I think that's refreshing probably for people in
00:23:02the fan base like myself and then for players like just having that authenticity from your head coach
00:23:07where you know exactly where you stand every single moment of the day like that's what you
00:23:11respect the most about any coach Joe I want to get a little technical with you on the offensive line
00:23:17side oh the uh let's go the right tackle for the Steelers I think it's pronounced I I in a
00:23:25core right
00:23:25I in a core that's what I say um he was struggling a lot last night especially early and then
00:23:31they kind
00:23:32of threw like the the tight end and the running back over there to chip but then that caused the
00:23:37defensive end to be in like a wide nine and it just wasn't working out for him um kind of
00:23:44speak
00:23:44to like the wide nine technique and like can you try to change up your set jump him or is
00:23:49it you got
00:23:50to get back because he's so wide like what what kind of goes through your mind on that a wide
00:23:55nine
00:23:55too just like a very wide line just a very wide line you're trying to you're trying to drag that
00:24:00tackle out there into deep water and make him operate in space yeah I'll try not to get too
00:24:05nerdy but like right if a defensive end lines up just outside my eye it's a five technique if he's
00:24:10like inside eye of where the tight end would be that's a seven if he's outside of where the tight
00:24:14end
00:24:15is it's a nine if he's even wider than that like splitting where the tight end is and the slot
00:24:19receiver is we call that like a wide nine he's not even on the screen when you're looking at the
00:24:23tight copy from the end zone and it creates a lot of problems but really the the biggest problem is
00:24:28in your mind as a tackle because you see that guy who's already faster than you he's already stronger
00:24:32than you he's already better looking better girlfriend the whole deal he's so far out there
00:24:37that it makes you scared and nervous that oh crap I gotta get the heck out of here and what
00:24:41was
00:24:42happening last night with the Steelers right tackle I'll let Kadek be the one that pronounces the name
00:24:46but he was getting nervous and what happened was he was bailing out of there as fast as he could
00:24:52right so he was dropping that foot in the bucket we talk about stepping in the bucket with that
00:24:56outside foot which is not a good thing because it opens your shoulders it takes you out of your kick
00:25:00and as soon as you've opened your shoulders and you've taken yourself out of your kick now you're
00:25:05not gaining as much speed as you want and it's pushed your balance point on your back foot you want
00:25:11your balance point to be on the inside of your inside leg that allows you just like a shot putter
00:25:15to keep pushing backwards and staying in balance because as soon as you now bail and you open up
00:25:21you're almost like running to the sideline yeah and that makes you very light in perspective and
00:25:26to where your weight actually is because you're moving very quickly in that direction your weight's
00:25:31going that way and so then as a defensive end all you have to do is basically you're running a
00:25:3640 yard
00:25:36dash right through that guy's sternum and he's got no ability to get his feet in the ground to anchor
00:25:42and to stop the bull rush in those situations that that was exactly what was happening but to your point
00:25:46the browns are playing almost three quarters of the time in man coverage and what happens is if
00:25:51you put a tight end over there or somebody to chip to help which is usually your first answer to
00:25:55give
00:25:55some help to a tackle who's struggling the problem is somebody's got that tight end and man to man and
00:26:00when he starts blocking a lot of times these defenses have an adjustment where now they're going to trigger
00:26:05and blitz yeah so now you've got a big problem because you've got a tight end who's seemingly trying to
00:26:10help and block that defensive end who you've already got assigned to a tackle and then you've got the guy
00:26:14who's covering the tight end now he's blitzing and nobody's assigned to block that guy and so you you
00:26:19have all sorts of protection issues especially when you're getting a defense that's playing a lot of
00:26:23man coverage when you try to add more blockers in there and so for me if i would first of
00:26:28all i
00:26:28wouldn't be opening my shoulders and stepping in the bucket and use a bad technique and getting beat so
00:26:32i don't need a chip but what i would try to do is if i had a nine technique like
00:26:37that you can try to
00:26:38short set them or at least take away some of the space so i'm gonna first of all get off
00:26:43the ball on the
00:26:44snap that's the number one problem that our right tackle from the steelers had he was a little bit
00:26:48late off the ball but i want to be setting with an angle quickly to try to get into the
00:26:53hip of that
00:26:54tight end so as soon as he gets in the way of that defensive end for a second i'm right
00:26:58there to put my
00:26:59hands on him right i don't want to create space by setting really really deep and allowing that chip
00:27:03to happen but then having two or three steps from that defensive end after he gets chipped
00:27:08to gain speed back and to be able to gain that momentum to run right into you and try to
00:27:14run
00:27:14through you so a lot of problems in the game that weren't going to be fixed with just chipping because
00:27:20of the man coverage that the browns defense was playing that is a fantastically detailed explanation
00:27:27man like it's geometry guys that those are the level of of of ideas that are happening every single
00:27:34play in the nfl that we're all just blissfully unaware as we yell like why are they throwing
00:27:40him he was wide open uh all right every week let's get let's get in some of some of the
00:27:45other games
00:27:46coming up this weekend uh joe i would say that we have a couple of dual-sided must wins and
00:27:51one of
00:27:52the big ones is going down to the big state there in texas cowboys at houston uh houston once again
00:27:59season online already cowboys a disappointing one and two they trade for joey porter uh he's been fake
00:28:07hurt all year long how can a guy like when you're in the nfl you're you're at that level you're
00:28:13that
00:28:13good can he just show up and have an impact already this sunday i think at some positions you can
00:28:20right
00:28:20and i think cornerback is one of those positions because it's a lot easier when you're playing corner
00:28:24to just say hey all right you're in main coverage or you're in you know cover three cover two whatever
00:28:29it looks like that fits with your defense and those principles are pretty much the same no matter
00:28:34what defense you go play with and then they're just going to kind of tighten up their call sheet a
00:28:39little bit on defense they won't have as many exotic pressures or exotic coverages to that side of the
00:28:44field so that they can get joey porter jr out there and allow him to start making an impact but
00:28:50they're not going to put too much on his plate mentally where he's going to make mistakes because
00:28:53obviously making mistakes in the secondary is almost as bad as making mistakes as a left tackle
00:28:58because yeah in the secondary is pretty much a touchdown if you screw up coverage for us it's
00:29:03a sack and your quarterback might be out for the season so the stakes are pretty high for both of
00:29:07us
00:29:07but i think for a guy like joey porter jr playing corner they're able to get in there right away
00:29:13and
00:29:13be able to take nearly all the snaps because it's not so individually detailed and specific to that
00:29:20position and that defense that they run joe we got uh pat's bills this weekend we can obviously a huge
00:29:26one for the patriots and we have seen drake may be arguably the worst quarterback in the league
00:29:32through three games so what are you seeing out of him and what does he have to do better obviously
00:29:36the turnovers aren't great some people are saying it might be you know an injury from last year
00:29:41whatever it is what does drake may have to do to turn this around well he's got a 58.6
00:29:47rating right
00:29:48now which is the worst ever by a quarterback a year after leading the nfl in quarterback rating so
00:29:54it's an enormous drop so everybody's wondering what's going on right naturally the first thing
00:29:58you're going to think is injury but i think a lot of times what happens is like these young players
00:30:02they put a lot of film out there and then all these defensive coordinators have all off season
00:30:06to watch that tape to come up with different schemes and strategies to be able to try to
00:30:12attack your weakness and i've seen it a bunch of times like we had a lot of rookie quarterbacks
00:30:16played for 20 quarterbacks that started for me when i was with cleveland and a lot of times they would
00:30:21start fairly hot but as soon as you get that big book on a guy and you start understanding all
00:30:26right
00:30:26he doesn't throw into the deep left half of the field for whatever reason he doesn't like that throw
00:30:31or he likes a lot of check downs unless somebody's wide ass open in the secondary now all of a
00:30:36sudden
00:30:36defenses adjust right if all he wants to do is throw short now you're bringing your safeties down
00:30:41you're playing a lot tighter coverage and you're forcing him to make the throws that he doesn't like
00:30:45and so i think it's just a matter of drake needs to evolve now and really be self-critical look
00:30:50in the
00:30:50mirror that mirror test be extremely honest with yourself and look and say what are the things that
00:30:56i don't do very well and where are the defenses giving me those holes to be able to try to
00:31:00attack and
00:31:01exploit to try to make them honest because that's the biggest issue on defense right they only got 11
00:31:06guys it's a big field they got to cover so there's going to be gaps and holes and a lot
00:31:10of times those
00:31:11defenses are putting those gaps in their holes in the areas where the quarterback just doesn't like
00:31:16to throw the football or has some weakness and so for drake he's just got to take that next evolution
00:31:22and that next step in his development which is totally normal for any young player at any position
00:31:27it just gets highlighted so much more when you're playing that critical quarterback position
00:31:31uh joe okay there's there's a team in the nfl that may be the best in the nfl um injuries
00:31:39don't
00:31:40seem to matter they have them constantly and yet we don't actually talk about them that much in the
00:31:45show and that's the niners and it's crazy because they're also like a massive brand they're always
00:31:49successful they got a really big game coming up sunday against the broncos what is it about san
00:31:54francisco purdy shanahan that they're able to withstand so much personnel loss and yet just
00:32:01keep winning football games well first of all it's kyle shanahan um he was my coach in cleveland in 2014
00:32:08he was the best coach i ever had in any sport wow he understands the game he understands the emotional
00:32:16uh side of the game his emotional intelligence to be able to get to his players is extremely high
00:32:21and i always said like he was the most motivating coach not because he wanted to get in your face
00:32:26and yell at you and threaten you and scare you but because he would show you the game plan and
00:32:31he was
00:32:31very very smart with his x's and o's still is yeah and you would see how he's putting you in
00:32:36a position
00:32:37to succeed in an advantageous position over your opponent in everything you did then you would go out
00:32:43and practice and then you would see it walk through and then regular practice during the week and then
00:32:48friday and saturday you would be able to see cut-ups of yourself doing those things against
00:32:52your scout team but he would also overlay cut-ups from games going against the defense you're going
00:32:58to go against doing those things that put you in that position to succeed so he was building this belief
00:33:04in your mind throughout the week that we're going to win my coach is putting me in this amazing position
00:33:09to win and succeed and like there's no greater feeling as an athlete to feel like wow i've been given
00:33:15the
00:33:15upper hand because of our strategy and our technique that we've been coached and all i got to do is
00:33:20go
00:33:20out and play ball it gives you this feeling of no stress no anxiety because all we got to do
00:33:26is go out
00:33:27and execute the game plan like we did during practice we saw it on film we saw what the defense
00:33:32is going to
00:33:32do we're prepared for everything and we're ready to go out and kick their ass and i think it really
00:33:37shows because brock purdy has taken zero sacks thus far which is pretty amazing through three weeks and
00:33:43he's got 130 plus rating as a quarterback and he really is just carrying on that tradition of guys
00:33:49at quarterback with kyle shanahan that maybe people don't know a whole lot about when they first get
00:33:54there yeah but he makes people understand who they are because he finds those weaknesses in the defense
00:33:58he's got the amazing play action game which gets huge uh gaps and voids in the defense and allows his
00:34:05quarterback easy throws his reads are very very simple for the quarterback because he coaches him so well
00:34:11and then as a head coach he's a great communicator right because the head coach a lot of times your
00:34:16job is i got to communicate what i want to all my assistant coaches and then it's their job to
00:34:21deliver that message to the players and that communication has to be clear and crisp and concise
00:34:25he does it consistently as a head coach and i think the reason we don't talk about him is because
00:34:30we're so used to the niners just being good doesn't matter who the quarterback is it doesn't matter
00:34:34what the injuries are they're going to be a good team can i just say joe you give the best
00:34:39answers
00:34:40i agree so sincere so detailed so well and so i real quick here joe they want me to go
00:34:45to break but
00:34:45but i want to ask you about this because i we see this happening all over the nfl where you
00:34:50think about
00:34:50like a mike mcdonald maybe getting out of baltimore uh ben johnson getting out of detroit you had kyle
00:34:56shanahan in cleveland what's it like as a player when one of those guys leaves and you're like oh man
00:35:02like
00:35:02i don't i don't know man that that guy should have been the guy here it was devastating he was
00:35:08only there one year and there was some friction between him and the front office i mean i don't
00:35:13know really what it was i don't get involved in the drama in the front office but i think it
00:35:17kind
00:35:17of had to do with some of the personnel that kyle wanted kyle always wants a good fullback right
00:35:21that's really one of the positions that unlocks his offense because of his ability to use that guy
00:35:27who's a blocker and move him all around the different formations and use leverage and geometry like
00:35:32you said before good good use of a math term there to be able to get those advantages and i
00:35:37don't think
00:35:37the front office really like believed in that very much and kyle was like well this is what i need
00:35:42to
00:35:42be successful and so if you're not going to give me the uh as bill parcells would say the groceries
00:35:47that i need like i'm going to go somewhere else because i can't make a beautiful michelin starred
00:35:52hall of fame wagyu meal unless i have the right groceries and so for kyle when he left like it
00:35:58was
00:35:58devastating to the fan base it was devastating to the guys in the locker room because we knew how
00:36:02good he was and we knew he was a star in the making went to atlanta right away had a
00:36:06great
00:36:07successful stint as an offensive coordinator and now he's in san francisco jeez it feels like it's
00:36:11been a decade yeah it almost has it's crazy joe hey joe thank you so much guys hall of fame
00:36:16farms.com
00:36:17all of fame farms.com you with the best freshest wagyu any beef any meats okay hall of fame beef's
00:36:24the
00:36:24absolute best thank you joe thanks joe all right coming up next let's look at uh the nfl we got
00:36:29a
00:36:29let's go around look at this week four that's coming up uh great slate in the nfl and our
00:36:34i have a few topics that kind of like the niners maybe we're not talking about enough here on what
00:36:45all right guys let's roll around the nfl slate here real quick we're going to play a new game are
00:36:50we talking enough about and i'm going to answer i'm going to give you a a sentence and you tell
00:36:55me obviously if you think it's getting the appropriate amount of attention mikey are we
00:36:59talking enough about the sustained success of derrick henry the average lifespan of an nfl running
00:37:07back is two and a half years he's entering his 11th season and yet every year he just somehow gets
00:37:13better and even though on paper his offensive line has gotten worse with linderbaum leaving
00:37:18he has just somehow gotten better and the team still builds around derrick henry and lamar jackson
00:37:25but it's truly unbelievable how he just keeps getting better every single year megan you have
00:37:30some uh connections with houston they're in a must-win game this three uh weekend i would say
00:37:35are we talking enough about how much trouble the houston texans are in um i don't know if we are
00:37:41i mean
00:37:41they're oh and three with losses so what like the bills the colts the bangles the defense that was
00:37:47so stout last season has seemed to have had some regression the offense seems like they don't
00:37:52really have an identity i mean i don't know if we're talking enough about it because i don't know
00:37:56if there's enough people that care about the texans but i think we should be talking about it more
00:38:01chief when we sit down to do this segment there's a topic not on here because we have
00:38:07hidden agendas in the production room you think we're not talking enough just how down the packers are
00:38:14right now well and how far they've fallen in a year where it's like a couple years ago they're the
00:38:19oh we're the youngest team we have our next quarterback the hot coach matt lafleur and now
00:38:24it's like we don't have a first round pick next year micah parsons is out if they lose the bucks
00:38:29they're one and three the division starts falling apart and it's like dude how i don't think they've
00:38:34ever been down this bad in my entire life since brett farve walked through those doors in 1991
00:38:38they've always been a team that was in and around the playoffs or a super bowl contender they're looking like
00:38:44a
00:38:44team that's going to be finishing with a bottom 10 record with nothing to show for it the packers
00:38:49might be dead dead very hot coach dana kenneth walker the chiefs it seems like it's all anybody's
00:38:59talking about with the chiefs but should should we be discussing it even more i don't know what
00:39:05circles you're hanging out in with whoa whoa whoa i'm talking about football circles mike that wasn't
00:39:10that crazy i thought it was kind of like a shot sorry about i don't know what circles you're
00:39:16hanging out with but the circles i'm hanging out with we're talking about kenneth walker a lot
00:39:20because this guy has completely revamped their entire running game you've seen in years past they
00:39:26haven't had that guy as a complete game changer they've won super bowls but they've never had a
00:39:32great running back this guy is completely completely reshaping the entire offense after a down season
00:39:38last year i'm talking about enough but yeah as a program we could definitely talk about kenneth
00:39:43walker more and now we get three and oh chiefs against three and oh raiders this sunday one of
00:39:48the more unexpectedly fantastic matchups of this early nfl season great coming up next guys let's close
00:39:55out our number one we're gonna head to the money corner we got some more weather or not picks
00:40:01here on wake up barstool
00:40:07there we go guys it's time to head to the money corner with megan making money
00:40:12meg what do you got cooked up for us this weekend um so want to go ahead and throw it
00:40:16out there i uh
00:40:17was able to get back in the win column last week five and oh so if you went ahead and
00:40:21tailed all the
00:40:21bets you get a nice 23 to 1 parlay so up first that's what i'm talking about let's see if
00:40:27the
00:40:27regression bug doesn't come back we're gonna go west virginia iowa state under 53 and a half west
00:40:33virginia has one of the most dominant rushing offenses in the country leading all power force
00:40:37schools with 294.8 rushing yards per game rich rod's game plan should be pretty simple ground and pound
00:40:45dominate the trenches chew clock uh and unlike okie state uh iowa state does not have the players or the
00:40:52scheme to exploit the back end weakness no they can't stretch the field vertically and if they're
00:40:56going to try to run west virginia is going to just stack the boxes both of these teams are kind
00:41:02of in
00:41:02desperation mode right now which is kind of silly to say because it's early in the season but i think
00:41:06they're going to play a little bit more reserved and uh it's going to be tight but i like the
00:41:10under
00:41:1053 and a half ground and pound of stacked box mikey's dream not going to happen what do we got
00:41:15next
00:41:15uh we're going to go with auburn at tennessee playing against auburn again this week big bounce back
00:41:21opportunity for the voles uh tennessee who is uh tied for first in the sec for sacks with 19
00:41:28auburn uh they're down at the bottom with only uh let's see 14 sacks tennessee also has the number
00:41:36one red zone offense meanwhile uh auburn's red zone offense ranked 110th in the country
00:41:43i like tennessee i actually played them in an alt line all the way up to 16 and a half
00:41:47oh i i i liked what i saw out of bazon brandon against texas last week guys big growth out
00:41:53of
00:41:53that kid watch him this weekend big bounce back big bounce back up next we have i mean do i
00:41:57really
00:41:57need to tell you guys about this but it's a service academy under uh in the last 20 years these
00:42:03unders
00:42:03have hit 80 plus percent of the time both of these teams run triple options so obviously both coaches
00:42:10know how to defend the triple option not just that but this game is being played at air force where
00:42:14the elevation is high high high high high so tired guys a little winded we're gonna go the under
00:42:20navy air force 46 and a half air force should run the air raid uh up next we're gonna go
00:42:25by you at tcu
00:42:28by has an offense that is physical and disciplined on the ground they have an o-line that rarely gives
00:42:33up negative plays uh they should dictate the tempo and easily control the line of scrimmage tcu relies
00:42:39heavily on the long ball which might not go over so well because why bc uh byu boasts the third
00:42:45best
00:42:45defenses defensive passer rating allowed on deep balls um and all that being said byu is also off
00:42:52of a buy so they're well prepared for this game at tcu byu is great i it feels like a
00:42:57fever dream that
00:42:58tcu ever played for a natty all right last one here last one last one i was talking to our
00:43:02good friend
00:43:02brandon walker he does not like this because he thinks arkansas is one of the worst teams in the
00:43:08country uh well right now i know that texas a&m just got beat up by my lsu tigers just
00:43:13last week
00:43:14marcel reed looks absolutely terrible taylon green he's gonna see this as an opportunity to get a big
00:43:20win in the sec however i don't think texas a&m right now should be 14 point favorites against
00:43:27a lot of the sec team so we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna take a little bait here with
00:43:31arkansas
00:43:31plus the 14 and a half going into kyle field you can shake your head all you want i'm not
00:43:35no no no
00:43:36this is this is a classic situation where it feels so bad that it's probably really smart like it feel
00:43:43like like i don't know i but but again you won last week and and as we say play all
00:43:48the legs individually
00:43:49if you do that you're going to win the majority of the time and then sprinkle a little bit of
00:43:53fun
00:43:53in the parlay and it's plus 23 50 guys megan thank you so much of course all right uh let's
00:44:01go ahead
00:44:01and go to break when we get back i'll give you those whether or not plays a bit later in
00:44:04the
00:44:04show we got two more for you coming up this weekend hour two of wake up barstool coming up on
00:44:10the other
00:44:10side the bear bang bang
00:44:20what's happening y'all welcome back to wake up barstool every friday we're joined by one of our
00:44:23best friends actually our best friend bar none here on wake up barstool it's chris liga aka
00:44:29the bear you catch him on big noon kickoff every single weekend also host of the college football
00:44:35show with stew gotts and the bear brand new show y'all should go check out bear what's happening
00:44:40babe how we doing today we're we're doing great uh here in minneapolis for uh big noon tomorrow
00:44:46minnesota michigan uh winner winner goes to what four and one and then and the loser if michigan loses
00:44:53this game they potentially could uh be sitting three and four in a couple weeks so we'll see what
00:44:57happens but yeah looking forward to a uh a fun weekend of games big moment going down for fleck
00:45:02big moment for whittingham but i want to talk about kirk okay fair i've been telling no not herbie
00:45:10no no no ference i've been telling you everybody in the country needs to prepare their kids for ference
00:45:17in the playoffs bear you love ohio state tomorrow what makes you so confident that the buckeyes are
00:45:24going to go into that stadium and and have success against a tough iowa hawkeye football team i just
00:45:31don't think that iowa is going to be able to drag them down into a sloppy gross kind of game
00:45:36like
00:45:37they were last week with me look michigan last week threw for almost 300 yards i just wonder what
00:45:43jeremiah smith and julian sand and the offensive weapons that the buckeyes have are going to be able
00:45:47to do against iowa look this is an iowa team that had the one offensive touchdown like 80 yards
00:45:53go one touchdown period it was a kick return touchdown uh going into the fourth quarter
00:45:58look if they can get the confluence of events of a a 22 yard field goal when you should have
00:46:03gone
00:46:03for it a goal line pick a stop two point conversion kick return touchdown injury to stop the clock late
00:46:10in the game and two miracle conversions at the end of the game fine i will i will sit here
00:46:15and salute and
00:46:16tip my cap to to ferris and the hawkeyes but i just don't see it uh tomorrow i think ohio
00:46:21state
00:46:21goes out there and puts up a big number all right bear question i'm going to bring you down to
00:46:25the sec
00:46:25who do you think has a better shot this week mississippi state or mizzou that is a great question
00:46:33and i would suggest playing both of them on the money line because i think one of them will win
00:46:39outright i just don't know who it is i would say the better the better chance i think is
00:46:45miss missouri because i think or yeah you do you agree or disagree i would agree with that
00:46:51personally no i know i don't i don't i don't i don't disagree i have i've kind of gotten sucked
00:46:56up into the florida hype though i i would say here so so why why it's a spot thing it's
00:47:02like we talked
00:47:02about last week old miss was the squarest play on the board last week coming off of that emotional
00:47:07win everybody loved old miss last week nobody wanted to bet florida and now this week the shoe is on
00:47:13the same the same foot for the gate like they they are the team that everybody loves them right in
00:47:17the country they're going to the playoff and now you're going on the road and you've got to come
00:47:21back down from that high and missouri's hearing about from idiots like me about eli drinkwitz
00:47:28owen tan against top 10 teams in the regular in the regular season and losing nine straight
00:47:32and their inability how are they still ranked and they hear and see that the florida past events i
00:47:38think can be exposed a little bit um this could be a pretty big game i think for austin simmons
00:47:43so
00:47:43would not surprise me if of those two it were missouri who wound up pulling the uh the little
00:47:49upset there tomorrow they're talking about your alma mater the hurricanes man they're playing the
00:47:54they're playing clemson this week do you think they just take care of business easy one i do uh in
00:48:01a normal i used to be very hesitant and scared and nervous about games like this but
00:48:06i just don't it's more of like the name value of clemson right now i think still carries that
00:48:12weight for what dab was winning that program did as kings of the acc for so long but the weather
00:48:17could
00:48:18be a little bit of an equalizer but you still got mark fletcher yeah and that offensive line to lean
00:48:22on i ultimately think if you just take strip the name off of it strip the logo off of the
00:48:29stats and
00:48:30watching clemson this season the lsu and north carolina ran all over them yeah you look at
00:48:37their passing attack they got some weapons with wesco and some other guys a receiver but they're
00:48:42really young and inexperienced at the quarterback position i i just i just think it's a bad matchup
00:48:47but i kind of liken it to back in 2013 when we all kind of thought florida state was really
00:48:55good
00:48:55but there was still a pretty good contingent of people oh they're beating everybody because the
00:49:00acc is ass and they aren't really that good and then they went to clemson and that was the whole
00:49:05james and we gotta do it in the locker room and it was like uh-oh it was like the
00:49:08oh oh shucks
00:49:09type of moment where people realized florida state really is that good it was like 51 14 or something
00:49:15so we could have a situation i'm not going to say it's going to be 51 14 but tomorrow could
00:49:20be that
00:49:20people still questioning miami a little bit tomorrow could be that like light bulb moment
00:49:25where miami is as good as a lot of people think they are fair talking about your uh miami hurricanes
00:49:31and darian mensa one game for the rest of your life you got to pick a quarterback you're picking
00:49:35camario taylor arch manning or darian mensa who it's tough i'm putting you on the spot arch would be
00:49:44arch would be bronze on that podium yeah i'm getting which is interesting because he has the most big
00:49:49wins on that podium bar bar none yeah but is it really because of him or is it more because
00:49:56of
00:49:57the defense honestly it kind of was dude i'm just saying bare nose ball hollywood smothers had a
00:50:02had a big to do on that final drive that's fair that's fair that's fair that was a dead ohio
00:50:06state defense to your point yeah see if i say mensa i'm coming across as a homer i don't think
00:50:11so
00:50:12that's fine though all right i i got i got approval from the crowd so yeah i'll say man just
00:50:17because
00:50:17i think the way he has been so unflappable this year and the the type of ball the ethos is
00:50:24an
00:50:25unbelievable deep ball and he's hitting guys men mensa would be the guy but do not that might
00:50:31change tomorrow if k1 uh pulls the upset over the uh tide well and that's the question that i want
00:50:37to
00:50:37get into is in terms of newcomers every year we see it right we have all of our preseason quarterback
00:50:43favorites and then guys emerge we knew mensa was going to be good we didn't quite know on kamar we
00:50:49didn't quite know on keel and russell both of them nearly identical stats both probably the most
00:50:56exciting newcomers to the party how like how excited are you for this matchup and do you think this is
00:51:04kind of a statement where either one of them announces themselves okay i am a top five quarterback
00:51:09in the country yes because it's an absolute swing game for for both teams if you look at alabama's
00:51:15schedule after this they got georgia coming up and things go get a little bit in the deep end for
00:51:20the
00:51:20tide whereas this is like the biggest game in starkville probably in a dozen years since that
00:51:26auburn game in 2014 uh and if state were to win this you look at the rest of their schedule
00:51:31yeah it's
00:51:32still a little tricky and they got texas and they got the egg bowl at the end of the year
00:51:36but you could legit see a path for mississippi state to get to the college football playoff if
00:51:43they are able to win this game and i don't think that's anything anyone would have expected to say
00:51:48at the start of the year but i guess look last year this was a team that lost what seven
00:51:53straight or
00:51:53whatever it was to end the season yeah got to a bowl game because there weren't enough teams to fill
00:51:57bowls but they have come out this year and uh good for jeff levy good good for uh kamaru taylor
00:52:02for
00:52:02recognizing i think the potential that a lot of people thought he had when he wound up playing
00:52:07against all miss lee last year all right bear back to me uh so i took two of these games
00:52:12so i don't
00:52:12like love this question but i'm hoping that you give me the right answer who's on the bigger upset watch
00:52:18tennessee byu usc
00:52:24i would say byu only because of the injuries and going on the road here off a bye they are
00:52:34off a bye
00:52:34but and i think tcu stinks like like you look at how the hell did that team play for the
00:52:40national
00:52:40championship four years ago whatever it was like i think their issues in the locker room i think they
00:52:44are also down some receivers still uh the quarterback has some problems but we we saw last
00:52:51year with byu they kind of played a bunch of close games and came out on the other side to
00:52:56tell us tell
00:52:56they uh living through a little bit so i would say byu probably would be the the answer there i
00:53:04think
00:53:04the situation for for auburn to go into neyland and pull an upset is a little bit stronger but i
00:53:11just
00:53:12don't have any belief in auburn i have zero belief yeah yeah i think they're like one in 21 and
00:53:17they're something like that in their last 22 games against ranked teams and i i byron you you know
00:53:22byron brown is good for at least two turnovers so you can bank which we talked about last week as
00:53:27well yes we did and so i would uh i i would i don't think tcu i i think both
00:53:33those favorites will win
00:53:35just to question whether they cover the number for you so bear we we tend to uh overreact because of
00:53:40course you do right we have small sample size that we're trying to have sweeping conclusions from
00:53:45i look at oregon they're going to be off this week an early buy but not bad timing in terms
00:53:51of kind of
00:53:52resetting for the season they'll probably have a ranked unranked with ucla they'll get a tough
00:53:56nebraska team after that tough illinois team after that are we living in a world where we have
00:54:03top 10 oregon again like a month from now yes okay yeah i think we are especially if they do
00:54:10beat
00:54:11ucla and you look at the look ahead lines uh but like we all do they're about a 12 12
00:54:16and a half
00:54:16point favorite in ucla next week and then they get maybe the killing rayola bowl uh in in a couple
00:54:23weeks after that hopefully dante more is healthy and able to play but that will certainly be a juicy
00:54:28storyline if it is rayola who has to play that week and then you look at the back end of
00:54:31the
00:54:31schedule and outside of that trip to columbus like they're going to be a significant favor in
00:54:36every single one of those games so uh before the year i think we all thought oregon was a playoff
00:54:42team
00:54:43one that very easily could win the national championship and and one other thing to throw
00:54:47out there like that loss at oklahoma state might not look as bad as it certainly did in the shock
00:54:54of
00:54:54the moment yeah look they were coming off of a loss to tulsa and everyone's like oklahoma state stinks
00:54:59and maybe they weren't fully prepared or ready they were looking ahead to oregon in that game
00:55:03uh who the hell knows but i think it i think we're looking at a 10 and 2 oregon and
00:55:08a team that
00:55:08ultimately is going to reach the playoff all right it's time we've been doing it every single friday
00:55:12for poke the bear we have one game we all select it let's look at the standings real quick this
00:55:18week
00:55:18we're going to stay here in chicago guys the fox friday night game it's the brand oh look at that
00:55:23look at that graphic very nice very nice okay these are um really uh odd yeah i don't know why
00:55:32they did it that way whoever numbered this is dyslexic or something i'm very confused right now
00:55:38i'm just saying kate it's not fourth he's he's one and two he's last anyway um tonight northwestern
00:55:46opening a brand new stadium penn state road favorites chief i'm gonna go in order the bottom
00:55:53of the screen chief you start us off i gave you northwestern last week i'm giving it to him again
00:55:58uh opening that stadium i think it's going to be an intense awesome atmosphere i like the
00:56:04quarterback child i think northwestern uh wins outright dana biaz is this just the uh the the spread
00:56:12or can we do a total as well uh just the spread just the spread sorry pal
00:56:18i love the new the opening of the stadium give me the northwestern just give me i'm with chief
00:56:23you're the cats all right uh katie i'm going northwestern as well oh no yeah i'm not like it
00:56:30i'm not like it i'm not like where this is going but i mean look i i matt campbell's a
00:56:34good coach
00:56:35i'm gonna live in a world where david wrong is a better coach i mean both have done a lot
00:56:39with less
00:56:41there's there's there's a momentum to this northwestern program right now and i do think
00:56:46the stadium i think it matters so yeah i'm i'm going cats as well look at us uh megan what
00:56:52is
00:56:52this line i didn't look at this game minus two and a half sorry uh penn state minus two and
00:56:57a half
00:56:58i am gonna hate to agree with everyone however it's bad momentum's on their side opening the new
00:57:04stadium i mean the people of philadelphia are already down bad might as well make it you know two
00:57:09weeks in a row i'll go northwestern to cover there eagles phillies i am gonna save the graphic
00:57:16yes i am gonna go i am gonna go penn state to bounce back off of that loss uh late
00:57:21last week
00:57:21it is interesting because a lot of times matt campbell has been on the the wrong end of these
00:57:26toss-up type games if you go his time at iowa state as a head coach when you were looking
00:57:31at the
00:57:31line within a field goal either way like those toss-up games he was eight and 19 so at some
00:57:37point
00:57:37the the coins got to come up heads for him and they got to get a win in this uh
00:57:41i trust beck and
00:57:42that team going on the road we'll uh we'll go with the knits all right there you go bear saving
00:57:46the
00:57:47graphic also in this game could gain that that could be huge right because we often choose the same game
00:57:52here for standings uh now real quick bear we've been doing something called weather or not here
00:57:56uh our producer reese is a massive weather nerd like truly passionate about the weather game and
00:58:03he he's been you know okay we're just take everything else what games are going to be
00:58:08affected by the weather and how's it going to go 11 and 2 on the season thus far suffered a
00:58:14defeat last
00:58:15night but we have a couple more plays for this weekend we're going to play under 43 and a half
00:58:21with michigan traveling to minnesota where you're at bear beautiful weather today but some rain chance for
00:58:29the second half tomorrow but most importantly some gusty winds okay we're talking 25 to 30 mile an
00:58:34hour gusts we're also going to head to the island san jose state at hawaii under 50 and a half
00:58:42so there
00:58:42it is guys under in the michigan game under in the hawaii game thoughts bear hawaii hawaii has been an
00:58:48under team this year they're really having trouble scoring points uh for timmy chang i'll be curious to see
00:58:54what happens here i didn't realize it was going to be a very windy year but that makes a lot
00:58:58of sense
00:58:58two quarterbacks uh certainly that in the wind won't be able to throw the ball of minnesota
00:59:03got some changes on the offensive line i would also look uh in the southeast in the carolinas
00:59:10supposedly rain in clemson maybe rain in uh in chapel hill maybe rain in uh in raleigh as well so
00:59:17take a look at the southeast tomorrow as well because uh throughout a couple of those big games
00:59:22in north carolina south carolina could see a little bit of weather as well love it there you go
00:59:26chris league you catch him on big new kickoff tomorrow thank you so much brother love you
00:59:30have a great weekend everyone
00:59:32so guys we got ryan dimster coming up talking baseball in a couple of minutes but first let's
00:59:38look at what's in store for us this week and here's the college version of it um not not not
00:59:44not necessarily like uh it's the heavyweight knockout of a slate but if you're a college team
00:59:50head or football head i guess you had a lot of sass when you said that by the way what's
00:59:54that
00:59:55no but if you love college football you would know that these things tend to deliver when you think
01:00:02they're not going to uh and there is a lot like miami clemson get out of here miami's gonna dominate
01:00:07them i'm a believer in iowa same here i i think last year you saw because there was oh how
01:00:13are they
01:00:13going to keep up with the athletes okay well last year indiana had incredible athletes they need a
01:00:18last second drive to win in that stadium oregon incredible athletes they needed a last second
01:00:23drive to win in that stadium what's the say that i say we'll be in the same boat i think
01:00:27they at least
01:00:27keep it close what is it 14 and a half 14 i think it's 14 right now it is no
01:00:35half right now okay so
01:00:35our friend ohio state what's the punishment if they if they eat hawk food i think hawk i thought
01:00:43he has to lay in a field for every point i think it's like an hour uh why is it
01:00:48hard to play kinnick
01:00:49i mean these fans well first of all like if you're the visitors we it is us to that that
01:00:55bar right
01:00:55there these okay that's how the swamp is on top of you they're saying heinous things heinous things
01:01:03so it's so many so loud um it's an awesome environment the wave is incredible to be a part
01:01:10of that's so sweet i just love it it's a great place to play but it is it is tough
01:01:14uh always play
01:01:16up or down to their opponent how many times did you hear hey fat boy that's that's the lightest thing
01:01:21a lot of fat jokes uh speaking of the swamp florida mizzou not in the swamp but florida hitting the
01:01:28road
01:01:28to mizzou the thing that i almost want to see here because i've given myself over to this gator team
01:01:34i almost want mizzou to get out to an early lead so i can watch how florida handles that like
01:01:39if they
01:01:40have to rely on aaron filo throwing the ball a bit more to to come back or do they just
01:01:46stick with
01:01:47ball i try to like that that's that that's what i want to see all right let's look at sunday
01:01:52slate
01:01:53uh because while this one's kind of whatever sunday slate i mean this is a good one day
01:01:58this is some good old-fashioned ball boys rocks some good old-fashioned boy and it's not just
01:02:04the one o'clock it's the four o'clock as well i mean broncos niners is going to be awesome
01:02:08i'm looking
01:02:09at this texas the texans team they're oh and three yeah they very easily could be three and oh they've
01:02:15had three games that have been basically toss-ups i feel like they always kind of start that way they
01:02:20do
01:02:20pretty excitedly right i think it's like 20 to 6 or something the uh but the the but the ram's
01:02:27eagles
01:02:27this is a i'm gonna prove a lot that's a that's a matchup that we saw in a little snowball
01:02:31in the
01:02:32playoffs last year so that's gonna be a great game and then of course jaguars bengals two solid teams
01:02:37in the afc so one game and by the way i'm so done with the texans i'm i'm i'm i
01:02:43could not be more out
01:02:44i i hate this idea that you're just gonna start oh and three every year and then still be good
01:02:49it's
01:02:49not true it's just not true fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me fool me
01:02:54three times
01:02:55can't get shamed again can't get fooled again exactly man yeah i had a question oh yes who does
01:03:00shuck nasty have in the saints uh they have uh oh my god why am i blank right now help
01:03:06me out
01:03:06production falcon oh the falcons it's a katrina game it's a katrina game we're gonna we're gonna
01:03:11it's it's it's it's the the the the anniversary of of the the dome coming the revival but we'll get
01:03:17to more of that on monday's show a game that wasn't on that graphic just now a battle of the
01:03:22undefeated raiders versus chiefs and everybody talks about the chiefs offense he does the defense
01:03:31has been fantastic with spags and i'm really fascinated because clink kubiak is an excellent
01:03:37offensive mind you're seeing him and cousins they work together great chief i'm really excited for
01:03:42the spagnolo versus kubiak chess match that we could potentially see in vegas on sunday yeah me too i think
01:03:49this has become like a marquee game this weekend top of the afc west great uniform matchup classic
01:03:56silver and black i do think the raiders are one of those teams that make the league more fun when
01:04:01they're good and it's been 20 years since they've been good but yeah i i love that the raiders are
01:04:06back i like that kirk cousins is doing it i don't know why i have a soft spot for him
01:04:09but this is uh
01:04:10you know the suburban white guy he is me kirk cousins is he is he's the most representative
01:04:18quarterback of middle america white men that we have in the nfl i would say i would i would agree
01:04:24so yeah it's a it's a big game i still like the chiefs i think i think that defense is
01:04:30rolling now
01:04:30they have the balance with kenneth walker um but it's uh it's definitely fun to have the silver and
01:04:36black back and relevant they're gonna be in the super bowl again aren't they man it feels that way
01:04:40they're just gonna they're just gonna be there it's gonna be the whole it's gonna be another
01:04:43five years of this i'm going to my first bears game this weekend i'm pretty excited oh let's go
01:04:47i've never been to a bears game only been to the saints game who the bears have this weekend the
01:04:51jets
01:04:51okay i think the jets are jets that's pretty good but we got case keenum uh what about bajin
01:04:57i thought bajin was still qb2 after the game ben johnson said bajin's qb2 he did say that he won
01:05:03the
01:05:03job he's he won the job in training camp we have three quarterbacks that we like i don't know how
01:05:08you go to bajin how can you give it to yeah after keenum was so good because you're ben johnson
01:05:13and you can do whatever you want that is true the rare he might be too might want keenum uh
01:05:20maybe
01:05:20so keenum looked fantastic the other night dana yes okay it's gonna get worse for y'all before it
01:05:27gets better things going awry in boston red sox getting just embarrassed by the yankees your your
01:05:35your your your mvp quarterback has the yips he's been actively terrible your head coach is your head
01:05:43coach we all know about that and now you got the bills when you when you're most desperate most down
01:05:49you have josh allen and the buffalo bills and you got to go too high mark see bob you know
01:05:55when i started
01:05:56watching football the first game and i can remember no the young man it was a it was a monday
01:06:02night
01:06:03football game the rams and the patriots at about i think it was 2000 or 2001 2000 what did the
01:06:09patriots
01:06:09end up doing that year they won the super bowl what did they do since that one super bowl they
01:06:14won five
01:06:15more okay yes yeah so i've been blessed as a patriots fan very true for 20 whole years and then
01:06:22we saw
01:06:22mac jones and what it didn't work out and now we have drake may who went to a super bowl
01:06:26i have nothing
01:06:27to complain about my life's good i've seen six super bowls i've seen greatness if we have a couple
01:06:32years of of a drake may with a bad shoulder i'm okay with it patriots are dead it's everything
01:06:38it is sad dribble coming out it is sad because patriots the dead the port noise of the world
01:06:46last year were like we're back another 20 year run i can't believe we got another franchise
01:06:51quarterback again and it's gone you know you know who i said you know who i said that about
01:06:56our close personal friend mac jones mac jones is the boy man and i and i i tweeted this out
01:07:02but if
01:07:02the shoulder injury and whatever's going on the yips if this continues to happen we'll have to make a
01:07:07call uh actually it's great that you mentioned mac jones bring him back
01:07:11graphic we get the graphic that we had yesterday and i'll kill a couple seconds here where we find
01:07:16it don't make fun of me no no no it's okay we got to go to break no i love
01:07:22mac jones okay you
01:07:23obviously because him and drake may have been the exact same quarterback if he needs to get
01:07:28shoulder surgery and take the year off call in mac i love this fake shoulder injury that y'all are
01:07:33making up for me it's fantastic i too like to find reasons to explain what about nine what about
01:07:38nine of the giants 2.0 nine 2.0 times two right isn't he wearing 18 yeah yeah so mikey
01:07:48that was the point that was the entire point that's two yes michael thank you thank you for explaining
01:07:58it for us get into some baseball chief as i said fun day in chicago yesterday well yeah super fun
01:08:11depends on your perspective right yeah white socks fans elated cubs fans devastated how much of a failure
01:08:18was this chicago cubs season i think i'm going easier on them than most i'll say a seven like when
01:08:24we
01:08:24started talking about this team back in march it was we're going to have cade horton we're going to
01:08:29have justin steel we're going to have this awesome rotation ben brown guys that can really sling at
01:08:35big power arms and then and then they traded for cabrera it's like there's your staff 0 for 4
01:08:41everybody's either hurt or suck or both and so then you're trying to cobble together a pitching staff
01:08:47and you spend these resources to get starters at the deadline and then you leave holes other places
01:08:53and then at the end of the day the playoff series complete failure when you have bregman pca everybody
01:08:59going 0 for the series that's the failure overall the season it's kind of whatever it's very
01:09:05disappointing so much of sports is just timing and health and and a little bit of luck and they ran
01:09:10into a buzzsaw and they played terrible megan when you look at these brackets i've i've i find this
01:09:16divisional series to be pretty fantastic from a storyline standpoint brand standpoint which of
01:09:22these matchups do you like the most matchups i like the most probably that yankees raise matchup
01:09:31i just i mean those those two just going at it i think is going to do something for me
01:09:35but i also
01:09:36have made a lot of money on the yankees which is probably me being a little biased so if i
01:09:40offered
01:09:40you a question that we had in the document earlier which is let's say aaron judge back yankees with
01:09:46judge or the field who are you taking i'll probably take the field um even with judge i feel like
01:09:54the
01:09:54padres are really really hot um it's tough even with judge back i think i would have to take the
01:10:01field the poor rays man i mean congrats to you they finally got mentioned on the show all they are
01:10:06is the
01:10:06one seed it's only we're all year long and yet no one uh we never talk about them and here
01:10:12they sit
01:10:12the odds makers don't like him nobody likes the tampa bay race oh poor guys man poor junior
01:10:21junior's a stud yeah what if the only player i know what if the white socks is all down so
01:10:26i was
01:10:26gonna say like the opposite side of that coin is uh the white socks might be the most likable team
01:10:32we've seen in a decade they got dogs they're a bunch of brodies they're young guys they party hard
01:10:38they play hard they got a frat house sort of feel in the clubhouse kind of makes you feel a
01:10:44little
01:10:44bit like the old stuffy nerd if you're a cubs fan doesn't it like yeah i'm an old stuffy i'm
01:10:49just
01:10:49saying like like a bit like the corporate machine versus like y'all are like the cubs feel in chicago
01:10:55right now i wish i could remember the fraternity's names but uh the fraternity that the animal house
01:11:01attorney's going against right the white socks are belushi and co and and y'all are the the rotc boys
01:11:07yeah they're yeah look at yeah i think this is the the socks fans i think by and large maybe
01:11:17a little
01:11:17bit more authentic if you know like they're south side they're neighborhood guys they're you know
01:11:22they're like the blue collar team and cubs fans are yuppie it's wrigley field you have a lot of people
01:11:27who are just wrigley field fans like those stereotypes exist for a reason but the thing
01:11:32that we've had over them is that they suck they suck they lose 100 games a year so when they
01:11:39won
01:11:39that playoff series that was the fourth playoff series win in their entire history the other three
01:11:45happened in 2005 so like cubs are the lovable losers no one loses more than the white socks so
01:11:52they're having a good run here i do think they're kind of set up for the future new stadium coming
01:11:56good
01:11:57for them uh i hope they lose in the most heartbreaking way mikey i want to play a couple
01:12:02clips for you uh brut that's a very petty in there uh i want to play a couple clips for
01:12:07you
01:12:07they're gonna put a smile on your face use a little white socks after they punch their ticket
01:12:12it's the great of the series against the guardians fun right mike your your thoughts about going to
01:12:18cleveland electric my thoughts about going to cleveland that's right sir well what we're gonna do
01:12:23we're gonna get on a plane we're gonna head to cleveland ohio somebody's pouring alcohol down
01:12:28my pants what we're gonna do is we're gonna show up play white socks baseball and we're gonna kick
01:12:34some all right go get them oh yeah come on
01:12:41we're gonna play that we gotta play we gotta play mooney as well uh here i love mooney every time
01:12:46you
01:12:46i love mooney every time you can get better one thousand one hundred not a thousand this time
01:12:53yeah one hundred oh this is literally me and you are really in japan they're celebrating with you
01:13:01anything you want to say to them same height same same yeah he's drunk
01:13:09but he's drunk yeah told me you didn't need him i'm drunk
01:13:15yesterday maybe hungover you know yeah still learning english yesterday hungover
01:13:20no no yesterday tomorrow i don't speak english
01:13:24i don't need the translator congratulations
01:13:27thank you so much
01:13:30the screams are the best
01:13:32they're america's team
01:13:34we speak little english we just pour beer in each other's mouths
01:13:39that is us
01:13:40uh they are america's team they're so relatable speaking of beers guys let's head to the young station
01:13:46come on man get up it's time it's time guys for last call with dana beers okay
01:13:54we're gonna enjoy a nice little bevy
01:13:58i gotta talk to you guys
01:13:59what a great start to fridays
01:14:00i gotta talk to you guys
01:14:03we were having a discussion
01:14:05hey make yourself at home
01:14:06let me ask
01:14:07i mean it's a lot of head man
01:14:12listen
01:14:12there's usually a lot of head in the first one you pour
01:14:16can i have the floor
01:14:17listen everybody we were having a discussion upstairs here at barstool
01:14:21and the discussion revolved around if the bears were to win a super bowl which
01:14:26first of all let's relax okay
01:14:28they're two in one
01:14:29and um the question was
01:14:32if caleb williams were to win a super bowl
01:14:35would he be more iconic in the city of chicago
01:14:39than michael jordan
01:14:40no
01:14:41michael freaking jordan
01:14:43no
01:14:44okay and i'll i'm gonna get to it
01:14:47chief you you are more of a what are you a millennial correct
01:14:50yeah
01:14:51yeah these were gen zers and i'm not i don't do the whole generational thing
01:14:55but i don't care what generation you are
01:14:58michael jordan
01:14:59jordan is michael jordan
01:15:00caleb williams would have to win three super bowls
01:15:03to even touch the aura
01:15:05and the iconic-a-cy
01:15:07of michael jordan
01:15:08iconic-a-cy
01:15:08iconic-a-cy
01:15:09you can't touch his iconic-a-cy
01:15:11i mean
01:15:11go ahead
01:15:12no
01:15:12because i haven't seen
01:15:13i haven't seen any space jams with caleb williams
01:15:15no i mean
01:15:16look at caleb
01:15:17like that 85 bears team
01:15:19like our dads talk about it still
01:15:21like they're legends
01:15:22they got the car commercials
01:15:23they got everything
01:15:24caleb winning it would be huge
01:15:26it would put them in a stratosphere
01:15:27like even that team
01:15:28it was the defense
01:15:29we didn't have a star franchise quarterback
01:15:31he's not gonna be
01:15:33a global worldwide brand
01:15:35where he's
01:15:36his body is on football uniforms
01:15:39soccer uniforms
01:15:39yeah
01:15:40shoes
01:15:40the six championships
01:15:42the documentaries
01:15:43he's a
01:15:44jordan's like a myth
01:15:45like you hear stories about him
01:15:47he's a god
01:15:48i understand the fact that he would become a legend in this city
01:15:52and i understand the fact that this is a football city
01:15:55it is
01:15:55but let's pump the brakes
01:15:57see but no but dana
01:15:58you hit the nail on the head there at the end
01:16:00it's kind of like
01:16:01i talk about this with college basketball right
01:16:03like indiana
01:16:04they they love college basketball
01:16:07to define them for for decades right
01:16:09they got one taste of football
01:16:12and they threw that basketball out of the house
01:16:15who gives a hell
01:16:16i don't give a damn
01:16:18we're getting mark cuban on board
01:16:19we're putting all the money
01:16:21you look at kentucky right now
01:16:23the basketball team has been bad for 25 years
01:16:26nowadays all that matters
01:16:28all that matters
01:16:30is football
01:16:31i think in america
01:16:32especially the nfl
01:16:33and the super bowl
01:16:34i know what you're doing
01:16:35he got caleb williams i kind of see what the young guys are talking about
01:16:39you're just trying to be cool
01:16:41he is playing heel
01:16:42he's playing heel
01:16:43i hate michael jordan
01:16:44i agree
01:16:44what
01:16:45clearly
01:16:45i agree that football
01:16:48is
01:16:48in this city
01:16:49is bigger than the bulls
01:16:51it is
01:16:52it is
01:16:52yeah
01:16:52but that doesn't matter when you're talking about michael jordan
01:16:56who won six championships
01:16:58the greatest athlete of all time
01:17:00those kids weren't alive
01:17:01you know what
01:17:01if they were to get to see caleb williams win a super bowl
01:17:04it would absolutely mean more of it
01:17:06that's like maybe like michael vick's more important than babe ruth
01:17:09like i wasn't alive for babe ruth
01:17:11he's still a legend
01:17:13he has the aura
01:17:14the myth about him
01:17:15the same way jordan does
01:17:17like everyone knows
01:17:18there are certain athletes in every generation
01:17:21jordan is in that stratosphere
01:17:23it's like him and babe ruth
01:17:24and maybe tiger woods
01:17:25transcends generations
01:17:26yes
01:17:27where they're just
01:17:28how about that
01:17:28i like that
01:17:30hangover tomorrow
01:17:32obviously not
01:17:33no i look i mean
01:17:35again though guys
01:17:36i i think you're asking these kids
01:17:39to do a lot
01:17:41of heavy mental lifting
01:17:44to be like
01:17:44god forbid t-bop
01:17:46god forbid that
01:17:47people have to think and do heavy mental lifting
01:17:50my god
01:17:51they hate thinking
01:17:52they just run straight to ai
01:17:54they don't do anything
01:17:55also respect to the bears fan in the room
01:17:57can we chill
01:17:58on the super bowl
01:18:00i think that conversation was like over his career
01:18:02not necessarily this year
01:18:03okay okay
01:18:03but
01:18:04i had to bring this up on the show
01:18:06because
01:18:06it hurt my brain to ever
01:18:08to
01:18:09to
01:18:09i think you'd have to win three
01:18:11is that the number
01:18:12how many
01:18:12how many
01:18:13nba championships
01:18:14is one super bowl worth
01:18:16because it might be worth six
01:18:17it might
01:18:18it honestly might be worth six
01:18:20six to one
01:18:20six to one
01:18:21it depends
01:18:22it's at least a three to one
01:18:24it depends on the city
01:18:24it don't depend on the city
01:18:26that's what i'm talking about
01:18:27guys
01:18:28it does
01:18:28football is king
01:18:29troy
01:18:30all right troy eckman
01:18:31troy eckman won three
01:18:32is he michael jordan
01:18:34no
01:18:34look at the cowboys
01:18:36we still talk about him
01:18:37every single day
01:18:39they're america's team
01:18:40in the early 90s
01:18:41that was
01:18:42that was roger staub
01:18:43who was building that
01:18:44they were america's team
01:18:45before troy eckman ever got there
01:18:47jerry brought them to the next level
01:18:48i'm gonna say something
01:18:49yeah
01:18:49that might piss you off
01:18:51uh lebron james's
01:18:53covid ring for the lakers
01:18:55was probably more important
01:18:56than matt stafford's ring to the rams
01:18:59hmm
01:18:59how about that for football city
01:19:01a region
01:19:02yeah how about that
01:19:02interesting take
01:19:03because you are right
01:19:04la is one of the
01:19:06it's a laker city
01:19:07it is one of the exceptions
01:19:08to my rule
01:19:09like they'd probably even take
01:19:09the dodgers
01:19:10over the rams honestly
01:19:11yeah
01:19:12uh i think la would
01:19:13but la's a
01:19:16hedonistic cesspool
01:19:17of inverted morals
01:19:18and crumbling society
01:19:20that's true
01:19:21if you want to stand
01:19:22with la
01:19:22go ahead
01:19:23is it hedonism
01:19:24i care about the midwest
01:19:25i care about the south
01:19:26i care about america
01:19:27and america
01:19:28we like pigskin
01:19:29i thought hedonism
01:19:30is when you get like
01:19:31naked at a resort
01:19:32yeah that's la
01:19:33yeah that's very la dude
01:19:34yeah
01:19:34i do like that definition
01:19:36of hedonism
01:19:37getting naked
01:19:37at an all-inclusive
01:19:40that was me getting naked
01:19:41and going down the
01:19:42atlantis water
01:19:43you got anything to add
01:19:44for last call
01:19:45or you're just
01:19:45yugging booze
01:19:46yeah i want to go to resort
01:19:47and get naked
01:19:48hey by the way guys
01:19:50uh me and mega
