00:28Welcome along.
00:30it is at match one in the BMW development world championship and legends and it is two iconic
00:38teams up against each other you've had sings India up against up against Usman Khawaja's
00:44Australia and it's live from the iconic charge of cricket stadium
00:50and in some ways it's a hot day a day game today Usman Khawaja of Australia who is acting
00:57captain at the moment we're hearing that David Warner will arrive tomorrow he decided that he's
01:02gonna have a bowl first so India will back first it's very hot yeah there's a little bit of breeze
01:09from coming from the far end countdown begins seven six we're ready to go almost all right let's go
01:20let's play slip in place then there is that swing got that action which will just allow him in a
01:32good
01:32wrist position and straight away right on it and the pitch never offered any grass you know this
01:39one little short pulling it away for one it's the opening run nice looking shot good from Raidu just
01:53comes down and poses himself it's the first boundary 20 overs but we used to play 50 again down the
02:00page
02:01but this time didn't get it right and he's been caught at mid off the length was better short the
02:07ball didn't come he was looking or searching for another boundary over mid off but caught quite
02:12comfortably at mid off you just look at the length here side on just checking that front foot I'm
02:18sure that is fine look at the length back of a length he can't come at it can't get his
02:22hands
02:23through it so it hits the top of his back Lachlan right on the edge takes a very comfortable catch
02:29and a
02:29good start for Australia Raidu gone India five for one nice shot just slightly over pitch and he's able then
02:42to get his hands through the ball a little bit of swing but gets it through and up and over
02:50outside edge and
02:54third can't stop it bit of a dive it's well played by Ogip maybe slightly a little bit more labored
03:04than
03:04he used to be and there will be an overthrow and an apology straight away but fine-legged third man
03:13bought inside the circle high in the air and that's a field it does try and get underneath it but
03:21flies it for
03:22the first six in season three you're gonna get punished but it's so close to the stumps oh could
03:27be out that's a beauty bit more pace in it bit more zip in it and beautifully taken by wicketkeeper
03:35absolutely 100% decent delivery skips through off that live grass easy catch for Ben Dunk
03:45and Stuart Finney comes and goes
03:52gone for 13 India 33 for two and it just seemed to wake him up dropped the skipper Khoja was
04:01expecting that
04:02a little lazy the ball was just sort of dying at him that's what he can do prior the match
04:12remember
04:12last year against Australia put down and then hit straight back down the ground for a maximum oh
04:20in the air but we'll be fortunate and we'll also get a four oh squared him up we'll still get
04:32a boundary
04:33will you passing both slow through the air put enough revs something like that but not in the
04:39hitting zone because if it's in the hitting zone is out of the park just together outside edge fortune
04:46again with the brave you're not saying not so much with forward four more left-hander against left
04:54hand glass oozing with glass launched of the runway and it is a maximum from the blade of you've got
05:01sing change of pace roll of the fingers they take it feed a bear he gets the breakthrough what a
05:09cat in
05:10the deep yeah I was given the responsibility to come and break that partnership have a look at that just
05:17running
05:18the fingers across the ball the slow ball the pace variation working didn't want to give the spinners a go
05:27against no one as well as you're out saying but gets the man that he was looking for number no
05:32ja
05:33departs for 31 of 26 75 for 3 you would have liked number no ja that's better delicate it's not
05:42all just
05:43about power it's not delicate big swing in the air and that's going to go all the way flat this
05:52time
05:55well that's an absolute pie and it's gone high in the air it's another maximum for yuvraj
06:03flight it comes out a juicy full toss nearly goes out of the ground we're going to see a few
06:08balls go
06:09out of the ground again there's the edge we did slightly open the face though we'll give him the
06:15credit for that one it's another boundary through that area is Nathan Coultonisle excellent Yorker but
06:23that's going to be his 50 well played by Yusuf Patan sorry by Yuvraj Singh not just that delivery but
06:31the
06:31entire innings just his second 50 in the WCL the first came back in 2024 banged in short and he's
06:41feasted on that once more Yuvraj Singh you cannot bowl there skill two edge and that'll be four more
06:49that was a genuine nick he does go full and he smashed down the ground but Midoff gets around
06:57and there's confusion in the middle there's going to be a run out they're both at the same end but
07:01the
07:02ball has hit the batter and gone to safety don't think he obstructs the ball this is just
07:10that Yusuf Patan and Yuvraj looking at each other jockeying he tries to get out the way
07:20righty big swing here and he's actually got it just nowhere near the middle of the bat but will
07:27that get Yusuf Patan going first six for him full toss taking the bait and wings deployed for a maximum
07:39skided skided skided fielder will become the spectator second maximum in this over
07:46in Hilfenhaus pitched up Yuvraj fantastic shot six it is from Yuvraj Singh this is a death touch beautifully played
08:04flicked deployed maximum Yusuf Patan oh it's and this time he breaks the partnership does Hilfenhaus got
08:15behind is Yusuf Patan but not before he did the damage oh they're very close I think he landed just
08:22behind the line and then just dragged on over the line so I have doubt that this will be called
08:29a
08:30no ball there's a little bit behind the line so he'll be okay this is a little quicker delivery look
08:39at the leg the left leg going a little bit away that's why he was falling away from the ball
08:44and
08:44the ball just kicked off the surface from that grass got the edge and a comfortable catch Yusuf Patan
08:51gone for 37 is 158 for four wrist spinner oh we'll get the breakthrough deceiving the left-handed
09:00air fought Patan you know the slow delivery spinning delivery
09:17we will see the outside out there yes so far Patan a very small visit out there gone for one
09:31two in the air long off Contenta takes the catch two for two in the sober for Favad Amit and
09:39pick the
09:40wrong delivery to hit over the top ball slicing off the bat and a comfortable catch a very beautifully
09:46taken in the deep at mid-off but what an inning what a wonderful inning Yuvraj Singh 71 of 44
09:54deliveries
09:54come to an end 160 for six just got to pick the wrong ball didn't pick the wrong ball on
10:00that occasion
10:01that's a beautiful shot by Rishi good about themselves the Indian champions again similar delivery
10:08maybe similar result full length easy pickings for Rishi again three in a row what a shot this was in
10:21more
10:21control shot keep going oh almost court was hit hard straight at the bowler straight at him or more
10:32middle again same result he's dealing in sixes that's massive again this time over mid off give it a good
10:43go try to catch that Darcy short but he was short get a single throw at the north striker's end
10:56direct hit
10:59he's looking at the ball that's gone
11:04I don't think India will mind that as long as it's not Rishi the one you saw was done his
11:10job
11:10is given a little stand to his partner has gone for two and one ninety two for seven last ball
11:15of the
11:16settings hits it nicely through covers will get four to that crisp drive Rishi the one finishes it in style
11:26this innings 35 of 12 for him but importantly his team the India champions reach a hundred and ninety
11:34six or seven in the 20 overs at number noja started proceedings that get one in strong for the India
11:41champions 31 of 26 Raidu and Vinny couldn't really convert but it was you brought singh turned on the
11:48show here in Sharjah 71 of 44 right six bowlers used by Usman Khwaja but it was Ben Lachlan who's
11:57been
11:57the pick of the bowlers two for twenty of his three overs for our damage spinner did a very good
12:03job
12:03couple of wickets for him in one of his overs two for thirty one help for now is getting a
12:08two for as
12:09well which means to win the first match Australia champions would require a hundred and ninety seven
12:16runs of their twenty overs and we're ready to go here comes Mohit up and over straight away from
12:27Darcy short that's how he likes to approach the game and that's gone all the way that's come right out
12:35the screws blitzed through cover what a start again
12:42leading edge chance taken comfortably India have their first it's on Bhatti Raidu
12:50and Mohit Sharma responds straight away on the ball a shade too early with one Khwaja
12:57confirmation nowhere close to being a no ball yeah just shut the face of the bat the shade early good
13:04catch there by a body right who this man Khwaja gets out for naught 11 for one Australia
13:16wow that's an aggressive start that sailed into the stands so quickly onto the length have a look at that
13:25just like a short arm jab if you might say yeah just surprised Mohit as well
13:34bang straight back over his head that has gone a long way have a look at that just fixed the
13:40length
13:40so early Darcy short orthodox batting percentage cricket
13:50that's going to be more runs it's another six how flat was this one too just helped around the corner
13:58fearless batting by Darcy short have a look at that just a little swivel and the pace carrying the ball
14:05over
14:06the boundary rope it's been a great start i tell you what double kulkarni very soon or very early on
14:11in his
14:14but a similar result that's beating the man
14:20it's not good all of that doesn't matter muscled over the boundary ever wide long off
14:27you know how Darcy short is enjoying this batting surface just real power good line good land
14:37looking to bowl always on the scene on the stitching of the ball
14:42stops done him straight away and boy india needed that it's harbujan who gets them the breakthrough
14:50the experienced campaigner was looking to come down the surface ben dung just corrected the line the
14:59length and that was good enough good bit of keeping there by namanuja as well ben dung departs for six
15:0741 for two
15:11oh it could be a chance it almost was i think it might have carried you know to mohit sharma
15:16who did his utmost best to get to it
15:22battered down the ground full face of the bat
15:29bit of invention and it works very nice believe it or not he has played for italy
15:38heaved over the boundary behind square by joe burns going with the spin
15:45just picks the line the length so very easily
15:49needed that boundary joe burns just to grow in confidence find the middle of the bat against the
15:55harvesting
15:59that's going to be another six
16:02short arm jab really
16:04ball sits up really nicely with that extra bit of bounce
16:09you know just looks to go over mid on with great amount of ease
16:17wow he is feeling it today what a way to go to 50 in just 17 balls
16:24darcy short take a bow australia 74 for two of five dominic cork well he's enjoyed the speed doesn't
16:34hasn't he he's a good player darcy short he has been for a long time now
16:43doesn't matter
16:46launched up the runway and it is on the streets of sharja
16:50of the blade of darcy short bit of traffic out there as well so just what you want when you're
16:56stuck in a traffic jam a ball coming through your window he knew straight away
17:05played beautifully up to now seven sixties
17:12no pace on offer but he's got something up on that strike has burns yeah what's clever about this
17:19harbijan tries to take pace off and go wide and all he does is because of the pace it sticks
17:25in the
17:26surface so burns stays deep
17:31down on one knee and wings deployed for a maximum and we're not even towards the end of the eighth
17:39over at the moment
17:42ten sixties between these two in this partnership seven foot short
17:49goes ariel field of air takes it that is the big wicket that brings on the smiles on the faces
17:57of the
17:58players of the india champions doesn't get to all of this because it's slightly over pitched couldn't
18:06get underneath it's a good catch in the deep and an excellent innings from the australian opener darcy short
18:14he goes for 65 102 for three
18:19oh in the air in the air now did that carry it was you brad singh
18:24good over this has been
18:28leading edge this time it's taken
18:32gulkarni does get his second
18:35in australia they lose another one warned about
18:40working the ball to the leg side when he was just
18:45dropped short in front of extra cover this time
18:48and picks out backward points good catch from radu
18:52on for a globe one of two for four for dual kulkarni has brought the india chance back into it
18:57aggression and that's a gorgeous shot isn't it on the up down the track
19:03he wasn't to the pitch at all but just eased it through the gap
19:08they've got to keep taking wickets this is a beautiful shot beautiful shot
19:12he knew exactly what the baller was looking to do and got into position very early and just scooped it
19:18for four it might have gone for six actually this was right out the joss butler handbook played it
19:24so well like a frying pan flipping it over the top a pancake for six just put together a few
19:34pace off picked out the man behind square on the offside that just climbed on it a little bit
19:41gripped in the pitch kulkarni he's having an excellent day it was outside the offstop he wanted
19:48to guide it into the gap between these two fielders you just saw on the screen but couldn't manage it
19:54just because of the lack of pace well played well played for 11 116 for five
20:10the indian champions
20:12for kulkarni australia champions collapsing here so four wickets for him what a spell excellent spell
20:22they didn't start well the indian champions but they're just coming back so nicely
20:28first ball duck for kulkarni australia 116 for six
20:35charge oh that would have been a spectacular cool ball by mohit chava
20:44he's trying and he's almost picked out long on that's bounced just in front of pierce chowler who
20:52did excellently well didn't he went for the catch
20:58heave this time he gets hold of it if anyone can win this game this man can he's shown that
21:06he's got class he's he's got that power who can hit sixes
21:14that's the googly and it does the trick but uh the most admiring thing was his length his length was
21:22just perfect richardson wanted to get under it had no chance gone for four it's 136 for seven naturally
21:33connected with that but he's picked out deep mid wicket
21:37steward biddy pouches it and that could be the hammer blow for the australia champions
21:44as joe burns departs kind of skidded a little bit came a little quicker than his expectation
21:51got the toe end of the bat and comfortable catch very nicely taken in the deep
21:57went quickly to him and he passed it beautifully very well played joe burns scoring 45 136 for eight
22:06he's walked 10 and straight away and i can't believe what i've just seen there what a bizarre
22:13sequence i hope he's okay he's looking good again in the air and another one gone
22:22comfortably taken aussie's losing a plot this hits high up on the bat just like the previous delivery
22:31except this time he's got enough on it to get it out it's a long on rishi dawan safe as
22:38houses
22:38australia are on the verge of defeat here hilfenhaus gone for one 139 for nine
22:46sky's it has it done a distance it does did back a bunch on this occasion bnw sixes
22:57this ground isn't big enough at times and australia well credit to him they keep going they keep pushing
23:09goes for the yorker but nicely dug out by forward denies kulkarni a five foot he finishes his quarter
23:19oh what a catch that is a stunner sensational from stuart binny
23:30yeah a really good win batted well posted that big score and they filled it excellently
23:40really good catch from stuart binny chowler appreciates that but a good team performance
23:47from india this first game in this bnw developments world championship of legends season three and it is
23:55india champions two years ago who get themselves off to a good start thanks to excellent innings from the
24:02captain uvraj kulkarni with four wickets as well it's been a story of two batters really it was
24:10largely short who kept things under control 65 of 28 for him was batting brilliantly seven sixes four
24:19fours burns had to be in the middle since they lost short he was but he kept running out of
24:25partners
24:2545 of 32 nobody else could get to double figures and in the end
24:30they could not refinish the full quota of 20 overs as they were wrapped for 150. five bowlers used and
24:37kulkarni was the best of them yeah four for 44 in the big wickets that he got darcy short was
24:44the biggest to break that partnership three for moit couple for chowler and a wicket for harbizhan
