00:06currently training for Expedition 76,
00:08a long duration mission aboard the International Space Station.
00:12I'm excited to welcome you to celebrate
00:14a historic year in global space exploration.
00:16Not only because you've all come together,
00:18but because you're in Turkiye.
00:20I was born at Angelik Air Base in Adana,
00:22and I have many great memories from childhood.
00:25As the 71st signatory of the Artemis Accords,
00:28NASA is proud to welcome the Republic of Turkiye
00:30to the growing international coalition
00:32of like-minded nations dedicated
00:34to peaceful, transparent space exploration.
00:37This signing is the capstone
00:39of what has been an amazing year in exploration.
00:42NASA, alongside its partners, undertook the near-impossible,
00:45sending four astronauts around the moon
00:47during the Artemis II mission
00:48and launching cutting-edge science missions
00:51like the Nancy Grace Roman Telescope.
00:54NASA never undertakes these grand endeavors alone.
00:56Nations like Turkiye bring a bold vision
00:59and a growing record of achievement to that effort.
01:02In growing its space program,
01:04we have seen Turkiye contribute
01:06to these vast accomplishments,
01:08sending two astronauts into space
01:10and progressing the development
01:11of their first lunar mission, IAP-1.
01:14Additionally, we've seen Turkiye bring together
01:17the global space community
01:18at two of the world's largest aviation,
01:20aerospace and technology festivals,
01:23Teknofest and the International Astronautical Congress.
