00:05I'm NASA Astronot Deniz Burnham,
00:07currently training for Expedition 76,
00:09a long duration mission aboard the International Space Station.
00:13I'm excited to welcome you to celebrate a historic year
00:15in global space exploration.
00:17Not only because you've all come together,
00:19but because you're in Turkiye.
00:21I was born at Angelik Air Base in Adana
00:23and have many great memories from childhood.
00:26As the 71st signatory of the Artemis Accords,
00:29NASA is proud to welcome the Republic of Turkiye
00:31to the growing international coalition of like-minded nations
00:34dedicated to peaceful, transparent space exploration.
00:38This signing is the capstone of what has been an amazing year in exploration.
00:43NASA, alongside its partners, undertook the near impossible,
00:46sending four astronauts around the moon during the Artemis II mission
00:49and launching cutting-edge science missions
00:51like the Nancy Grace Roman Telescope.
00:55NASA never undertakes these grand endeavors alone.
00:57Nations like Turkiye bring a bold vision
01:00and a growing record of achievement to that effort.
01:03In growing its space program,
01:05we have seen Turkiye contribute to these vast accomplishments,
01:09sending two astronauts into space
01:10and progressing the development of their first lunar mission, IAP-1.
01:15Additionally, we've seen Turkiye bring together the global space community
01:19at two of the world's largest aviation, aerospace, and technology festivals,
01:24Technofest and the International Astronautical Congress.
01:27Before wrapping up, I wanted to share a more personal connection
01:29that makes this gathering especially meaningful to me.
