00:00I can't remember a weekend in which one, much less two,
00:06refs end up getting suspended for their actions towards actual NFL players.
00:12And that's exactly what we have here,
00:15is that we've got two NFL refs that have now been suspended,
00:20one in the Giants game for telling Trey McBride there for the Arizona
00:26that he can go, you know what?
00:28And then same thing in the Minnesota game.
00:31Like, what is, is this new?
00:33Did I miss this?
00:34Where did I miss that?
00:35Refs now are all of a sudden getting in the faces of players.
00:38What's going on here?
00:40Yeah, I mean, it feels like a lot more penalties too this year.
00:43It feels like a lot of constantly looking for flags, like on every play.
00:48And that does happen in, it's a small sample, it's four games,
00:53but all is required is that the league talks or commissioner talks to the refs
00:57and to see less flags, less flags the rest of the season.
01:00It does feel to me, at least, from watching the games,
01:03that I'm seeing more flags than I ever have before.
01:05Yeah, and I've never seen that either, like you're talking about, ever.
01:08Never, never, never, ever have seen that before.
01:10So, yeah.
01:12Eight years, Craig.
01:13It's been since the NFL has actually doled out a punchman against a ref like this.
01:18It's been eight years.
01:19And they did it for two in the same weekend.
01:22What's interesting, though, is that the calls haven't stopped the scoring.
01:26It does feel like there's still a lot of scoring in the league.
01:28I would say that through the first four weeks, we've gotten good football for the most part.
01:33I think we've gotten better football this first four than we got last first four last year.
01:37Now there's some dog games.
01:38The London game was horrible for a while.
01:42You know, Miami's offense was struggling and the Jets' offense was struggling.
01:46There's always going to be poor games, but I think these primetime games have delivered in a lot of ways
01:54so far.
01:55So I've been encouraged watching the first few weeks of the season, but they have to fix the ref thing.
01:59You can't have all this stuff going on with the refs.
02:01Like, it feels like every time there's a touchdown, like, they call it back for something.
02:05Like, something's going on.
02:06It's crazy.
02:08Yes.
02:08The Jets had three interceptions in a game.
02:11Haven't had one in two years, and every one of them came with a flag.
02:14It was like, you've got to be kidding me.
02:18Yeah, right.
02:19Yes.
02:19Like, you've got to.
02:20Even a 300-pound defensive lineman got an interception, and they threw a flag on it.
02:25You know what's funny is I wanted, I was thinking about this today to try and get an early look
02:31at some of the picks,
02:32like, to see what the lines were, Joe.
02:34And I'm not positive, but you know me when I get started on this stuff.
02:38I think, I think that by the end of the week, the pick may be your Jets this week.
02:47I have a feeling.
02:48Oh, no.
02:49Everybody's betting the Jets.
02:50That's the problem.
02:51I have a feeling the Jets are the pick this week.
02:53I have a sneaky, sneaky suspicion that that may be it.
02:58And looking at the down and the up and all that.
03:00What I want to do now, honestly, and look, Chargers, whatever, we've got to start betting on Houston.
03:06That's what we've got to do.
03:08I mean, Houston is 0-4 ATS.
03:10Like, this is unprecedented.
03:11Like, they got to, they're going to, Houston is still going to have a really good ATS record at the
03:15end of the season.
03:16Nobody, nobody covers no games, Joe, in 17.
03:20Like, they've covered none.
03:21They have 0-4.
03:23Houston's got to get some covers here, man.
