00:00You know, the end result is to win. So, like, don't take that the wrong way. And everything that we
00:05do is towards winning. But no, if we have the right guys in the building and they keep improving and
00:11they keep trusting in their teammates and trusting in themselves and develop, they'll continue to go forward and give their
00:16best and do everything they can because they respect and love their teammate and go after it and get better
00:21and win a game.
00:22So, I don't believe that we have a team that will do that. As a matter of fact, this is,
00:29and it's what I just told them downstairs in the team meeting. I told the guys very clearly that this
00:35was going to be a tough journey that we're all going to go on. And I told them that if
00:40they weren't up for it, then go talk to Sully.
00:43This is the time to find out as we build this thing and grow, who are the real guys? Like,
00:49who are the guys that we can trust that want in the boat? Because when we flip this thing and
00:52we will flip this thing that we want to have around. And the only way you find out those things
00:57is going through adversity together. And we're going to find out a lot about the guys. If there's any guys
01:02like you just mentioned, then they won't be here.
01:07Dolphins head coach, Jeff Halfley there. I am so impressed. Every time I listen to this guy speak, Omar, he
01:15just gets it. And, you know, maybe it's just refreshing to hear, you know, a little bit more normal press
01:23conferences than we've been used to last few years.
01:25But, man, Omar, it is refreshing to hear a guy who, you know, look, does not shy away from his
01:34situation, right? He has been very upfront and honest about the situation.
01:38And he's also been very upfront and honest about we need to change the culture here and we are going
01:44to turn this thing around and we are going to change said culture.
01:48And I think, you know, again, he is doing a fantastic job as the head coach of the Dolphins through
01:55not even a quarter of the season here.
01:57But the fact that this team is starting, you know, that you can see the improvement every week.
02:02They are starting to look better and they are playing competitive football, which is a whole heck of a lot
02:08more than I, you know, I think we were, to be honest, we're expecting.
02:12I know you were up there with me, Omar, when we were at practices and we saw this team go
02:16through training camp.
02:17And the expectations were quite low.
02:20So I know people want to win.
02:22I get when, you know, when you get close and you, you know, and then you make some mistakes and
02:28you kind of fumble the win there, which you did.
02:31You could have had that game, right?
02:33I get that people are frustrated, but Omar, I think this team is continuing to head in the right direction
02:40under Jeff Halfley, who just seems to win these press conferences pretty well.
02:45Yeah, he's killing these press conferences.
02:47He's definitely 4-0 undefeated in a press conference.
02:51The question is, can he solve problems and also player development?
02:57I am, yes, we, right now, I think that we've proven so far that John Eric Sullivan is quite solid
03:06at his job in terms of the talent he's evaluated, talent that he's added in the draft.
03:12Not necessarily free agency, but in the draft.
03:17But to me, the jury's still out on Jeff Halfley because I really haven't seen anything magical from a coaching
03:25standpoint.
03:26I need problems solved.
03:27That's a coach's job.
03:29I need game plans that put you, that mask your deficiencies and highlight an opponent's weaknesses.
03:37And that, yes, we can make this excuse again that, oh, you know, there's not much, that much talent around.
03:46You saw Chris Bell.
03:47You saw what he's done.
03:49Is that a guy that doesn't have talent?
03:51You saw Caleb Douglas at the beginning of the season.
03:54Yes, they're rookies.
03:55Yes, they're young players.
03:56But you saw, like Chris Bell, what is this, two weeks he's run away from every defender for big gains?
04:04And he's not even, he's probably 80%.
04:08He doesn't practice a portion of the week because he's still coming back from that knee injury.
04:13Which, by the way, is kind of crazy.

05:12And as we sit here today, there have been tremendous advances in the medical game.

05:29I thought he dropped a lot for an injury that, you know, it seemed a lot.
