00:00And if you could just explain here, because when this thing gets finished, it's the first place I want to
00:04go to and see how this is going to play.
00:05Just explain what's happening in this piece of the property and how these holes are going to be played, because
00:09this is such a cool green.
00:10And Charlie, the other thing, too, like before you answer this, Jim, is that that's where that Cobbs Creek comes
00:16in right there.
00:16You mentioned at the very beginning that there was tons of flooding.
00:19Is this kind of the area that was a big issue with the erosion in the creek that you guys
00:24were having to restore to be able to make this green?
00:26I see that stone wall as well.
00:28I imagine that has a big influence of just a general flooding that you might get in this bottom.
00:33Because when you get to the top of that hill and you look down at that little section of the
00:37golf course, it sits in a little bucket.
00:41Yeah, yeah.
00:41No, that's actually a great point, right, Charlie?
00:43I mean, Smiley, is that what gets missed on all this, and we talked a little bit about this in
00:50the beginning, is the community aspect.
00:52So the entire, well, 90% of the stretch of the property of Cobbs Creek, the creek itself has been
01:00altered and adjusted to be able to control flooding.
01:04And it's not so much flooding for the golf course itself, right?
01:07It also controls the flooding that happens down in the city of Philadelphia, right?
01:12So us being able to hold the water back up on the Cobbs Creek off proper is keeping some homes
01:19and streets and other important infrastructure down in the city of Philadelphia free from flooding waters.
01:25And that's a huge aspect.
01:28So a lot of what we're looking at has been, you know, widened and deepened in order to control the
01:34floodwaters.
01:35And the way it zigzags through the property, you can see, if you look up in the upper right-hand
01:39corner, you can see that creek making a left-hand turn coming back down towards us.
01:43Then when it gets past that little, you know, puddle of water we're looking at there, then it makes another
01:49turn and heads on down to the third green.
01:51The third green is, you know, kind of an island green over top of the creek, similar to, say, 12
01:58or 13 at Augusta, right?
02:00Then you come up here and what you're looking at is that's four green, which kind of plays down from
02:05the lower left portion of this picture.
02:08You don't see the T. The T is probably anywhere from 10 to, you know, 30 feet above the elevation
02:15of that green.
02:15How far?
02:16So it's kind of – it plays from maybe 150 from the forward everyday T probably to about 185, 195.
02:24Is it pitched a little this way too towards the water, like from the – is it the high side
02:27on the left?
02:29Yeah, so it'll be – yeah, back left to right front is kind of how it's pitched.
02:33Back left to right.
02:33Man, that's –
02:34I love that.
02:34Yeah.
02:35Can't wait to be in that left rough.
02:37Yeah, right?
02:38For that left bunker.
02:39That front right hole location is looking like a nice little sucker pin right there.
02:44Exactly.
02:44And it's hard to tell here, but the elevation difference coming off of that green up to that first bunker
02:49is probably, what, three or four feet.
02:51Then it's probably five or six feet up to that second bunker.
02:54It's going to swirl down there too, man.
02:56Gosh.
02:56Oh, yeah.
02:57A ball being in the air with elevated tee shot.
03:00Oof.
03:00Yeah.
03:01So then this five play – is the tee box adjacent to the fourth green, this five play back up
03:06across the creek?
03:07Yeah, so five would be what you'd call your kind of your traditional cape hole, right?
03:13Because you've got to kind of pick off as much as you want to chew.
03:15And then a green kind of sits with the creek on the left and behind the green.
03:19So from the – well, the whole entire hole does.
03:23It's just the tee is different.
03:24So we talked about this in the beginning about Marion.
03:27Think about five at Marion.
03:28Yeah.
03:29And, you know, that fairway that you're hitting to is basically the fifth fairway at Marion, right?
03:33Everything pitches hard from right to left.
03:35Oh, exactly.
03:36It's such a good hole.
03:37The green – yeah, the green complex pitches hard from right to left.
03:41We've got a little bit of a different situation because we have a higher hillside that we have to tie
03:45into.
03:45But the tee is different, right?
03:47The tee in the Cobbs Creek case is playing on the left side of four green, obviously.
03:51So you've got that diagonal carry over the creek, which is an added element with the tee shot.
03:57Whereas Marion, you know, the creek basically runs down the left-hand side of the hole.
04:01And you guys saw it.
04:02I saw it at the amateur.
04:03Everybody was just leaving the ball in the right rough, right?
04:06They couldn't hit that fairway.
04:08Yeah.
04:08And then they're coming in from the right rough to a green that's sloping hard to their left.
04:12You know, they didn't know what the hell to do.
04:14So it's great.
04:15But this is a little bit different, albeit kind of the same concept of a golf hole.
04:18But – and, yeah.
04:20So this is a stretch of holes.
04:23Again, like you saw at Marion.
04:24You've got some of the stuff on five, some of the stuff on 11.
04:27But what you have pictured here, that's on the third hole.
04:30That's on the fourth hole.
04:32That's on the fifth hole.
04:32That's off of six tee.
04:33That's behind 12.
04:35You know, that's behind over 13.
04:37And it's constant throughout the theme of Cobbs Creek.
04:40Kind of a coincidence, too, that both fifth holes, right?
04:43You know, it's kind of bizarre that they – just the way that the golf course lays out,
04:48how it could be very, very similar in the way it looks, the way it plays.
04:52But also, I have to ask you, did you happen to see the chip shot that Jay Lang Jr.
04:58hit on the fifth hole?
04:59He hit it just short of the green, and he chipped up all the way up to the right at
05:04Marion
05:04and hit it up into the fringe, and it came back about 40 feet and almost went into the hole.
05:09I thought that was one of the coolest shots that we saw all week,
05:12but it spoke to the imagination and creativity that you have to have around Marion.
