00:02Hello and welcome. Welcome to MMBQ content. These are my downloads if you're interested.
00:07I'm just going to show you that they do work, they're inside Blender. I'm showing you this just so you
00:12understand.
00:13That I know how to animate a little bit. Not too great, but I'm okay.
00:18Press play. This is a roundabout. It goes around in a circle. Like a roundabout does.
00:24Okay, it's got 365. That's what it's got. It's got 250. It doesn't have 250. It's got 365.
00:35Just so you understand that. So I can go back and I can play forward. That's it.
00:39You can shorten this to whatever you want. Of course, you want it to go from the first beginning.
00:45See here? Face in this direction. And in the last frame, you want to make sure that the character is
00:52in the same location.
00:53Okay. Now of course, as you can see, my content is working. Now, because of the new Blender version 5,
01:03it does not support.
01:05I'll show you. The collada. This animation is a collada. Okay, it doesn't have, I apologize, it doesn't have 365.
01:16It's got 240 frames.
01:19I do apologize for that. I say, normally, it should be a 360. Well, 365. That's what it should be.
01:27That's what I normally work at.
01:28But for some reason, I've done this one shorter. Anyway. The new content works. If you want the model, you
01:35can download it.
01:35So, well, who's the kid? Is that Emma? No, that's not Emma. It looks a bit like Emma, but it's
01:42not.
01:43If you look at the clothing, yeah. It's the same clothing as Emma. Because they're all made in a software
01:50called Make Human.
01:53I do have different clothes for them. But I can't like this outfit on the characters. Because that way you
01:59only get to see a little bit of foot.
02:01And a little bit of arm. And a little bit of face. Maybe. Yeah. So anyway, this character here, he
02:08is called Liquid Mitch. That's what he's called.
02:12He's going to be a friend, maybe later on, with Emma. You won't know until you play the game. So
02:18if you want the roundabout, you can download it.
02:20Okay. Now I'm going to give you two different files, right? So let me get rid of my character first.
02:26The character is in here to show you the scale of the roundabout to the character. Right?
02:33The roundabout is not too big. Okay? So if I open my character, that's my animation. That's my animation. Of
02:42course, my character is on the roundabout. Right?
02:45So I'm going to go here. Select my character. And I can just get rid of it. Of course, I
02:51don't want to get rid of the roundabout. Just bring it back.
02:55So I want to click on the kid. I want to clear his skeleton. Right? Now when I do that,
03:01you notice the roundabout moves to watch. See the roundabout? The roundabout moves.
03:07So this is how I'm going to do it. Right? So I'll give you the FBX version.
03:13Which works great. I'm always going to explain that to you. I'll show you what happens.
03:20Just in case you might think it's a mistake. If you can't, it's our attorney for the Unreal Engine.
03:26Here we go here. Import new. Download. If you import the collider. It comes in. Like that. And it looks
03:35like it's sideways. Right?
03:39If you press play. As you can see, it works absolutely perfect. So as soon as you start the level,
03:48the roundabout will be like that on the floor.
03:50If of course, you want to start the animation again. And have it already on the floor. Yes, you can
03:56do that if you want to.
03:57So this is what I'm going to show you. It's not really about the animation. It's all about the actual
04:033D model.
04:04The 3D model itself. It's an RGB. It's only color. So what I need to do is I can go
04:13here and take animations. Or I can go here. And delete the animations.
04:21OK. They're not turning out. They shouldn't be doing animations. It's just one on the kid. So let's clear that.
04:28OK. There's one here. Let's clear that. OK. So this is the roundabout. Right?
04:33This is what the kid works in. So we're going to delete that. Right? We've got the base mesh. We've
04:39got to delete that. OK. Now this is the roundabout. Right?
04:43So what I'm going to do. You're going to go here. Parent. I'm going to clear the parent. I'll explain
04:51the reason why I'm going to do it. If I hide the roundabout. Sounds like that. This is the kid.
04:57Right?
04:57That's the kid on the roundabout. That's his skeleton mark. OK. So we'll get rid of that. This is the
05:04generation of the kid. We don't want that. And this is the egg kid that's in the middle of the
05:08floor. Of course, we don't need that either. So we can pick that and get rid of it.
05:13OK. OK. So this is all we're left with. A very plain, standard template. Now, due to compatibility issues in
05:21the future. I'll show you this. Go here. Export.
05:25Now, the new format that replaced Colada over in version 5 is the Glyph 2. Now, it's kind of a
05:36great format. But when you come down to animating your skeleton, yes, I find it plays up a lot.
05:44So let's suppose I've got a skeleton here with the character. I export the character. Right? With the actual object.
05:54And when I go to import, I bring it back in.
05:57As a glyph oil, when I try to animate it, yeah, the bones are completely messed up. I think, yeah,
06:04it's no good. When it comes to animating, I like to use either Colada. And if I don't use Colada,
06:12I like to use FBX. Right? So, like I told you, for backwards capability to save using the glyph oils,
06:21you can use them. And I recommend that you do use them.
06:24If you've got, like, let's say, this object now on its own. If you've got this on its own, and
06:29it's got a texture on it, it's just got a colour. Yeah, great. You can save that out as a
06:35glyph file. That's compatible with Windows.
06:39Okay, on that, if you've got downloads, of course, it's going to ask you what it's called. It's called Renewade,
06:45right? You can, I can basically copyright it right here.
06:49So you can call it EBC, 2D, 3D. That's what it's called. And save here.
06:58Now, of course, normally I call it M&B cube. But it doesn't matter because EBC is M&B cube.
07:06And it's 2D and 3D, because that's what I'll create.
07:09Okay, now I've got a second model. You can go here. Import. I can import the camera. I can go
07:19here. I can import the glyph.
07:22The glyph version. Right? In order to see that, I can go here. Delete that. Go here. Import. Glyph. Download.
07:32It's just called that. I can change the name later. And you can see, it comes in and it's just
07:36there.
07:37Okay, you can pull it up. You press on this thing. You see the size of it? I like to
07:44change it to X, Y and Z.
07:47And it's not actually in the centre. Go here. Apply. All transforms. It goes to zero. Right. Now go here.
07:57Export it back out.
07:59Glyph. So Glyph knows when I go to animate it. That's exactly where it is. Right?
08:07And I'm also going to export it back out. If I want to. Because that's where I want it. As
08:13an FB expert.
08:15Of course, I'm not going to do that. Because this one has got an animation on it.
08:19But of course, you might prefer to do that. So if I want to do that. Let's just delete that.
08:27The box is here. There's no animation on it. So I'll take them anyway. And then I'll do these. And
08:32then I'll go export.
08:35If I take this and go okay. Go back to import. I can import it.
08:41And you can see. And you can see. Mine roundabout does not have any animation on it. It's absolutely plain
08:49and simple.
08:50But you might want to have it as an OBJ. Yeah. Export as an OBJ. Why would you have an
08:59OBJ?
09:00The OBJ calls us two separate files. Right? That's what it calls us. Unless, of course, you've got a skeleton.
09:10Then you'll have three files.
09:11So what I'm going to do. I'm going to go here. I'm going to click Downloads. I'll see what it's
09:17called. Because that's what it's called there.
09:19Go back to here. And I'm going to select that. I'm going to rename it. And then I'm going to
09:27save it.
09:29Now, of course, if I get rid of that. But now in your download section. Normally when you download an
09:36OBJ.internet.
09:36You normally get to choose either that one or that one or that one or whatever you want.
09:42You might be really, you might be using FPX. If you are, just import it whenever you want. And export
09:49it back out as FPX.
09:51I'm not going to export FPX in Blender 364. Because Blender doesn't like exporting the FPX. Just in case you
10:01don't know that.
10:01And not only that. It's not supported by Windows. So if you're interested in the random app. Then, of course,
10:08you can click on it. And of course, you can download it.
10:11And of course, you can download it. As I say, it's not animated now, look. It's easy to animate. It
10:15really is.
10:16That's all you have to do. Basically, click on it. And just animate it. If you want to see how
10:20to animate the roundabout.
10:21Watch my video. How to animate the roundabout. And that will be video number two. So this.
10:27This one is just about to download. And explaining how to basically take it apart. How to get rid of
10:34the animations.
10:36And, yeah. Basically, how to import it. I'll get rid of that. How to import it. And how to export
10:43it.
10:43Just in case you want to learn. Trying to learn Blender. And you don't know. So if you're following my
10:48videos.
10:49I'm almost finished. Right? As I say. If you want to learn to import. I will show you. If you
10:53want to learn to export. I will show you.
10:55If you want to learn to UV map. Texture. If you want to do a render. Get your filter wraps
11:00out. Get your animation out.
11:02Or you want to animate yourself. Yeah. I'll show you the whole entire lot.
11:06Say thank you friendly. I really hope that you know this roundabout.
11:10And I've got a second roundabout. Which looks very different to this one.
11:15See you next time. Bye.
