The KLIA Aerotrain will undergo a scheduled software upgrade after clocking 20,000 continuous operational hours, with the exercise aimed at further improving the system’s reliability and long-term performance.

KLIA chief operating officer Adam Nicholas Wilson said the upgrade would be carried out in two stages, with services temporarily suspended from midnight to 5am during off-peak engineering hours.

00:08operational hours as part of efforts to further strengthen its reliability and long-term performance.
00:14KLIA Chief Operating Officer Adam Nicholas Wilson said the upgrade would be carried out
00:19in two phases, with Aerotrain services temporarily suspended during off-peak engineering hours
00:25from midnight to 5am.
00:27The first phase, involving field testing from October 8th to 17th, will see the software
00:34update installed and tested under actual operating conditions to assess its performance and functionality.
00:41The field testing will then be followed by an independent safety assessment before the
00:46updated software is permanently deployed.
00:49Subject to the assessment results, the upgrade will enter the roll-out phase from November
00:5428th to December 1st, when the software will be permanently installed in the Aerotrain system.
01:01To ensure passengers can continue travelling between the main terminal and satellite building, full
01:07bus transfer services will operate throughout the upgrade periods as part of KLIA's contingency
01:14arrangements.
01:15Passengers travelling during the engineering hours are advised to follow the designated signs
