00:00The main elder who took the lead in the congregation became my first abuser.
00:05So at nine years old, I sat in a room with a grown man by myself to go over questions,
00:11to make sure that I agreed with the Jehovah's Witnesses stance on homosexuality,
00:16on homosexuality, before marriage.
00:18And that's when my first abuse took place in a grown man's apartment alone.
00:23And I had the little book that had the answers, that had the questions,
00:27that I had prepared and studied in, to be able to give my answers,
00:31to make my lifelong dedication to God.
00:34And I remember his hands coming on the outside of mine and closing them and saying,
00:38we don't need that book anymore.
00:40That's when the abuse began.
00:42I could feel his weight on top of me.
00:45I could feel him again.
00:47I could hear him growling in my ear.
00:50I remember when he was done that first time, he gave me a piece of caramel candy,
00:54so I didn't have the taste of s*** in my mouth.
00:56When I was nine years old is when I was baptized.
01:00And then at the Kingdom Hall, he was always, you know, at every single meeting,
01:04he was the one that was up on stage leading the congregation.
01:07We attended the meeting on Sunday mornings, on Monday night, and on Wednesday night.
01:12And then usually because he was my dad's friend and had been grooming my dad to get access to me,
01:18he would come over on Friday nights a lot when my mom was at work.
01:21I went back to get a drink of water, and he took me into the coat room and forced himself
01:27into my mouth.
01:28So, I was going to have to do the coat room again.
