00:00Are you ready for the Raiders? Yeah. Yeah, I am. I am ready for the Raiders, the Las Vegas
00:09Raiders. They've had many homes in our lifetime Jones as a young kid. I remember watching
00:14Bo Jackson, the Los Angeles Raiders. Try Vegas. They try them on for size. So the Raiders
00:21fans are, are all over the place. They've, they've had a couple of years, obviously.
00:27Oh, one, they were good. Oh, two, they were good. And then they kind of dip into
00:31obscurity for a while. You thought this was going to be a year where they were
00:34going to be dreadful. Turns out if you check out the Jones and keep tears from
00:39yesterday, they're actually fake. Good real good. They're fake. Good squad.
00:44According to our metric, which is through four weeks of evidence, they are three
00:50in one, a hard fought, close loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. And we have them as
00:55fake good. But no matter what you think of them, they're better now than when the
00:58schedule came out. When the schedule came out, this was an automatic W for
01:02everybody. We're like, how many guaranteed wins are there for the Patriots? Jets,
01:06Jets, Dolphins, Dolphins, Raiders, right? Pretty much. Yeah. Maybe there's another
01:10one. I think it was, I think it was those five. I think that's a good way of saying
01:12it. And now you're like, oh, oh, maybe not. You know, Kirk Cousins is seriously
01:18playing a lot better than he did in his time in Atlanta. You already know they have
01:22some like upper echelon elite players. That's a pretty good start, you know, for
01:27to turn your team around. And maybe they found a coach. Maybe they found somebody
01:32that was doing. I mean, Kubiak gave you fits last year in the Super Bowl. And that
01:37was a really talented roster with Seattle, but he has the Raiders three in one. Excuse
01:40me. He has the Raiders three in one. They're only losses to the Chiefs where again, I think
01:48they acquitted themselves quite nicely. And, you know, I don't always want to play these
01:54glass half full, uh, more victories. Exactly. A moral victory where you come in and you say
02:00we lost, but we kind of won something. I think with a team like the Raiders who have been down
02:04bad for a while, the number one pick in the draft last year, they were the worst team in
02:08football. And even we still, after that performance, think our fake good. Yeah. I think to hang with
02:13the Chiefs in that game, put up 27 on Casey cousins continues to make, I think he has 11
02:18touchdown passes this year. So it's going to be a test for the Patriots. And the way we saw this
02:24year playing out, he's tied for the league lead in touchdown pass. Yeah. So the way we saw this
02:28year playing out, we thought they would hopefully survive September, which they have two and two.
02:35I didn't exactly see it playing out the way it did with the wins they got versus the losses
02:39they took, but two and two out of September, they did their job in the month of September
02:43arrow seems to be pointing back up on Drake may after the arrow crashed through the floor
02:47the first couple of weeks, but okay. Arrow back up on your quarterback. You survive September.
02:52This is where the schedule is supposed to lighten up Raiders followed by jets

04:08with Las Vegas again, being in our estimation, fake good, but acquitting themselves quite nicely
04:14against the chief. So I think it's more of a test than we would have envisioned a month
04:17ago, but I'd also don't want to go crazy. I think it's the worst team they faced. I think
04:22they have some really good players. They're worse than Pittsburgh. I do. Yeah, I don't agree,
04:27but whatever. We're splitting hairs. It's close. Yeah. Right. I think we had Pittsburgh in frisky.
04:32So we technically had Pittsburgh a tier below, but I think at the end of the year, Pittsburgh
04:37will have a better record than the Raiders. And I think therefore, I think they're a better
04:42team. Okay. But you're right. I mean, it doesn't, I still think Max Crosby and Brock Bowers are
04:47two of the best players in football. It's probably the best tight end and second, third best pass
04:53rusher. So that is a lot to like those individual matchups, like the offensive line, wherever
05:00Crosby's lined up safeties, linebackers, whoever's trying to slow down Brock Bowers.
05:04I don't think there's much more of a challenge than that, but I also don't think the Raiders
05:09are like their record is surprising. They also beat the dolphins winless. They beat the chargers
05:16winless. So, and they played the chiefs tough, but lost. So I think they're good. I think at it,
05:22but when people are like, well, does the schedule really lighten up? Yeah, it does. I still think
05:26Raiders jets, even though they're a little bit friskier than we thought, depending on who's
05:31playing quarterback for the bears and then Miami, the next four game stretch, I think they're, I
05:35think you're staring at three and one. And if you're not three and one, it's disappointing.
05:39You may still avoid, you may still avoid Caleb Williams in that game, especially if there's
05:43no Caleb Williams and you're going four. No, if, if, if he plays, I'll say three and one's
05:46okay. You can afford to go three and one. The bears have won both their games without Caleb,
05:50right? I mean, they won with them. They won with Bajan smoking mirrors, uh, for sure. But okay.
05:55I mean, I agree. The schedule does lighten up in October, Vegas, New York, both at home
06:00short week at Chicago, and then at Miami, who looks like the worst team in football. It
06:04does lighten up. However, what scares me about the Raiders and you underscore max
06:09Crosby. I think Will Campbell had a brutal game last week. He's been good on balance and
06:14better than I expected, but he had a brutal game on Sunday. Uh, I think they're going to
06:19have their issues, even though they limited Dalton Kincaid limiting Brock Bowers in this
06:24matchup. Number one, I think the Raiders treat him like a true number one alpha receiver,
06:29even though he's a tight end and two, he's just light years better than someone like Dalton
06:34Kincaid. Oh yeah. So I think those are matchup problems potentially for the Patriots. One
06:38on defense, one on offense, which you highlight even put Crosby on Campbell's side. Morgan
06:42Moses has been bad. They might put him on that side. So yeah. And he might not even play
06:45the whole game either. So I think Campbell had a better week last week, but overall I agree.
06:50He has not been good and they've, they've given up high amounts of pressure, including
06:53last week in a victory over Buffalo. So all of those things, I think on paper, you're
06:57always going to have a matchup or two that concerns you. I guess what actually worries
07:01me about the Raiders, they're better than we thought. And this is like the definition
07:05of a letdown spot. We've had must wins. We've had could wins. We've had moral victories
07:11going into it that they actually turned into real life wins. Like we've had all kinds of
07:14different things. This to me is a letdown, your classic letdown spot. You got a big
07:19win at Buffalo. You're back home. It's a team we all expect to be bad entering the
07:24year. This is a spot where human beings let down that, that concerns me. And they
07:30lost to this Raiders team a year ago with Geno Smith. They were the worst team in
07:33football. Let's see Vrabel, McDaniels, Kerr, all the coaches. They pushed the right
07:40buttons last week on their respective sides of the ball. Let's see if they do it again
07:43this week where I think it's natural for a team to let down. So I, I think
07:47that's fair last year. However, they beat Buffalo. That was a real turning
07:50point, maybe even more so than this year. They didn't lose for months. Right now
07:54they didn't play a great game. I think the next game was that saints game where
07:57it was really close and you were like, Oh, why is this close with the saints? So
08:00I could see that where, you know, you don't win by on style points or anything
08:04like that. And maybe it's really close and then you have to pull away in the
08:07fourth quarter or something along those lines. But last year they easily could
08:10have fallen victim to that. And then they just won every game.
08:14They just, they just kept winning. Uh, so I also think sure there could be a
08:19little bit of a come down after being the bills, but the reality is you're two
08:22and two. So it's not like you're four and Oh, and you just beat the, your
08:26division rival. And you're like, Oh my God, look at us. How good we are. Like
08:29you don't have a winning record. So I don't, I don't know if that's going to
08:34factor in. And I also think it helps that the Raiders come to town three and
08:38one, if they were one in three and you're like same old Raiders, I think it
08:41might be much easier, easier to look past. Oh, much easier to be like, Oh,
08:45whatever. Like, I think this team is going to be looking to, I do think secure
08:48consecutive wins for the first time this year. I do think four and Oh, it'd be
08:51impossible to overlook them. It's like they're undefeated. That's true. I think
08:53the fact that they lost does lighten it up, but you make good points.
08:56I think three and one, I I'm sure they're going to be hearing about, Hey, last
08:59time you guys faced a Kubiak offense. How'd that go? Kubiak offense. Last time you
09:03faced this uniform, you lost and they were the worst team in football. You went to the
09:07Superbowl so they can beat you. Kubiak can beat you. They are three in one and
09:11you make a great point last year. They did get the win against Buffalo and they
09:14didn't let down for months, at least in terms of a loss. Right. I just think what
09:18concerns me about the game now is the spot. And I thought the second you got
09:22to week five, week six, that's when the Patriots would take off. I just think
09:27that takeoff point is, is one week out. Cause I think this would be a
09:30challenging game for the Patriots. They should win it. They're favored three and a
09:35a half. I think they're almost minus 200 on the money line. Three and a half. I
09:37would have guessed they should win it. I would have guessed more like five, but
09:40whatever. Three and a half. I don't know. I feel fairly confident. You think Vegas
09:44given the Raiders a lot of respect? Yes. Maybe it's right, right in their
09:46backyard. Maybe that's why. Yeah. Well, because if you, if you say it's three
09:51points now, I guess some of them are saying now like home team really more two
09:54and a half points, whatever. So they're saying like on a neutral field, this
09:57would be closer to a pick them. That does surprise me. Don't you think like, yeah, I
10:00guess when you put it that way, I just think they're almost minus one 92 on the
10:04money line. They should win this game. And I, uh, I do, or am fearful of a
10:10letdown.
