00:00A former executive at Samsung Electronics subsidiary Siemes has been arrested.
00:04Prosecutors believe the executive, who heads a chip company,
00:07funneled design drawings and other confidential files to that firm.
00:11The leak involves overhead hoist transport systems.
00:14They move wafer containers along sealing rails and chip plants,
00:18delivering them automatically to each process tool.
00:22Siemes, an equipment maker majority owned by Samsung Electronics,
00:26builds these systems itself,
00:28citing the risk of evidence tampering and flight,
00:30the court issued arrest warrants for the executive
00:32and a former Samsung Electronics employee.
00:36The other suspect allegedly conspired with the executive to smuggle the files out.
00:41Prosecutors plan to focus on how the files leaked
00:43and whether they were actually used.
00:45Suspecting more accomplices, they are continuing the investigation.
