00:00It has been a wet night and also a windy one. Rain will continue to push southwards and eastwards today
00:08with glossy showers to follow. The air behind this cold front is fresher certainly and this weather front here, this
00:14cold front will bring some intense bursts to southern counties into this evening with further showers pushing in and they
00:21could cluster together.
00:22So some wet weather into Saturday as well with a strong wind gales towards the northwest of Scotland gusty over
00:29the hills and mountains.
00:30Through this morning most of the rain has cleared mainland Scotland still though for Shetland where it could turn heavy.
00:38A rash of showers are moving in from the west with a brisk westerly wind.
00:42A similar situation for Northern Ireland the far north of England but notice where this rain is.
00:48It's likely to be heavy in places particularly on the up slopes on the hills and mountains and certainly a
00:53driving wind with poor visibility over the higher ground, lots of low cloud.
00:58Towards the south it's a drizzly start to the day, a fair amount of cloud and all of this rain
01:02is moving southeastwards as we head through this morning and into this afternoon.
01:08So through the day these showers across more northern areas will pile in from the Atlantic.
01:13The rain overnight has been heavy across Scotland and Northern Ireland but you'll see some breaks in the cloud if
01:20not some sunshine through today.
01:22This driving wind will continue to bring that cloud and the rain across central and southern areas of England and
01:28Wales through the afternoon.
01:29Some heavy more intense downpours can't be ruled out through the day here.
01:33But there will be some brighter weather to end the day across these parts as that rain becomes confined to
01:39East Anglia, the East Midlands, central southern England.
01:43These showers continue across Scotland and Northern Ireland moving in across Northern England as well as North Wales as well.
01:49And some heavy ones are likely. Temperatures then through the afternoon, probably I'd say 13 or 14 for Scotland and
01:56Northern Ireland.
01:57Temperatures across England and Wales a degree higher than we saw yesterday, even so it's a blustery day and watch
02:03out for that rain.
02:05Into this evening and overnight, well some tricky driving conditions through a rush hour towards the southeast before that rain
02:12clears.
02:12But notice these showers will ramp up into this evening and overnight.
02:18That wind also picking some strength up as well and delivering those showers not only across Scotland, Northern Ireland and
02:24Northern England,
02:24but further south you could see some as we enter the beginning of the weekend.
02:29Temperatures, well probably not as low as what we have seen.
02:34Yesterday was a very cold start to the day, today a mild one, tomorrow probably around 8 or 9 degrees
02:40Celsius.
02:41But these showers could have rumbles of thunder associated with them as we head through Saturday.
02:47So those showers also clustering together across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
02:51We'll see heavy showers across Northern England pushing in across the Midlands, a scattered affair across Wales, the west country
02:57and that driving wind making it feel cold with some high waves.
03:01Through the afternoon, even East Anglia seeing some wet weather and temperatures here struggling 14 or 15 degrees Celsius, 11
03:09or 12 further north and west.
03:11So a chilly day on Saturday, particularly with the strength of the wind.
03:15But through Saturday evening, overnight and into Sunday, we do have yet again a ridge of high pressure extending across.
03:24So we lose the intensity of those showers.
03:26It does become drier as we head through Sunday and we will see a mix of clouds, some sunny breaks
03:32and temperatures struggling a little bit.
03:34At least it will be a better day to be out and about.
03:37So all in all, yes, the weather remains mobile with rain showers and also some drier weather.
03:43Although come Monday, more rain on its way. I'll see you later.
03:46As forfeited and
03:49I'll see you later.
