3 WORST and 4 BEST Used Porsche Models After Warranty (Don't Get Burned)
The best used Porsche to buy after warranty comes down to generation and engine code, not the badge. We rank the 3 used Porsche models to walk away from and the 4 worth owning, each with the one inspection that decides it.
Covered: Porsche 911 Carrera S (997.1, 2005–2008), Porsche Panamera S, 4S and Turbo (970 V8, 2010–2013), Porsche Cayenne S and Turbo (955 V8, 2003–2006), Porsche Cayman (987.2, 2009–2012), Porsche 911 Turbo (996, 2001–2005), Porsche 911 Carrera (997.2, 2009–2012) and Porsche Macan 2.0 (2017–2021). Honorable mention: Porsche Boxster (987.2, 2009–2012).
A cheap Porsche is not automatically a good deal: an $8,100 Panamera Turbo is a warning, not a bargain. Get an independent Porsche specialist inspection, with a borescope on any flat-six. For buyers spending their own money on a used Porsche after the factory warranty.
