01:46Si
03:02Oh, check this out.
03:10Well, we had Back to the Future.
03:15Yeah, the look at the Terminator himself,
03:21who will look to terminate Kushida
03:23and extinguish his hopes of championship glory once again.
03:28The champion in the red corner from the club.
03:33That man right there is the 72nd IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.
03:38Of course, the first, Shiro Koshinaka,
03:40the man in the white pants earlier on.
03:43Kenny Omega-Stan, six feet tall, 205 pounds, 16 years of pro.
03:47And honestly, Yoshi, for me, Kenny's offense is so unique,
03:52but it may be the mentality, almost the instability of Kenny Omega
03:56that is the X-factor.
03:58In your expert opinion,
04:00what does Kushida need to do to beat Kenny Omega tonight?
04:06I think Taguchi need to eliminate their seconds.
04:11That is very important.
04:13Very good point, because Omega did not walk to the ring alone.
04:19The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion
04:22brought the new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions
04:25along with him, the Young Bucks.
04:28And Bullet Club domination has started quickly
04:31in each of the three matches they've been involved with,
04:34or the two matches so far.
04:36Will it happen here in the third?
04:39I'm very interested in what Taguchi is doing tonight.
04:42It looks like he's trying to get back to 1985.
04:47Trying to charge up the DeLorean.
04:48Check it.
04:49Go back in time when Kushida was champ.
04:52I can't tell if he looks like Doc Brown or Carlos Valderrama.
04:56For those of you that get that, good for you.
04:58What are you doing here?
04:59Nice.
05:00Get him, get him, get him, get him.
05:01What's he doing?
05:02See Kushida right away again.
05:04Get him.
05:05Hey, get him.
05:06And this, I get, Yoshi, I get it.
05:08I know why you're frustrated with Bullet Club.
05:10Oh, and a super kick party just on Doc Brown on Portagucci.
05:17So three for three.
05:19Yeah, but the bell hasn't sounded yet.
05:22And Bullet Club knows it.
05:24They know they're going to give the opportunity
05:26for the referee to check each man.
05:27Here we go.
05:28Give some quick instructions before calling for the bell.
05:32But Kushida, back on his feet, blasting away on Omega.
05:37Series of four.
05:38Basement drop kick right to the leg.
05:40Omega looks to seize on this.
05:43Ooh.
05:44What does that say to you, Yoshi?
05:47What does that say to you?
05:47Very disrespectful.
05:49But here's a man in Omega who moved to Japan,
05:53who's part of the Japanese culture, speaks the language fluently,
05:56but yet acts that way towards Kushida.
06:01Yeah.
06:01Of course, I cheer Kushida, but I can't forgive spit on the ring.
06:10Well, now Omega sent Kushida corner to corner.
06:15Boy, Kushida is moving so well, and there's a response.
06:19Similar move.
06:20He tried to take a page out of Kushida's offense,
06:23and now Kushida turns the tables.
06:26Down go the Bucs.
06:28First nick.
06:29Now Matt, Kushida cleaning house.
06:32I like this new, pardon the expression,
06:36more pissed off Kushida.
06:37It's what you almost have to do sometimes.
06:40Listen, I've been in plenty of fights.
06:41I've gotten my tail kicked plenty.
06:43Oh, again.
06:45But sometimes you just got to throw caution to the wind
06:48and just start punching people.
06:50Fans have seen this type of behavior from Omega before.
07:01But Kushida capitalizing on the antics of the champ.
07:08Oh, no.
07:10Stop them.
07:11Well, again, with the referee distracted, bullet club.
07:17All Matt's doing is trying to sell the referee some T-shirts.
07:20That's all.
07:21Well, and all it's doing here.
07:23And what Taguchi's doing?
07:25Taguchi is flux-capacitating on the floor.
07:29He's out for the night.
07:30And more bang for your buck.
07:34Oh, look at that.
07:36Wow.
07:36Wow, that's crazy.
07:37His own version.
07:39Garbage can't assist.
07:43The rapscallion, Kenny Omega.
07:46Take a look.
07:48Oh, man.
07:50Risking his own body to deliver the punishment to Kushida.
07:54But the door for victory now opens solidly for Omega.
07:58Backbreaker.
08:02Backbreaker.
08:03Backbreaker there by Omega.
08:04Doesn't let everyone know.
08:12Looks like the moonsault may have taken some toll on Kenny as well.
08:17Ready?
08:18Do it.
08:19Hey, hey, hey, hey.
08:21Hey!
08:30Two highest-paid bongo players in the world.
08:3320 bucks every hit.
08:34Up the bongo.
08:39As the drums of war beat Kenny Omega, beautifully done there.
08:46Yeah, that was...
08:48Well, I think he should have chosen Star Wars.
08:52Well, take a look at this.
08:54We saw Omega execute beautifully last year as well.
08:59He wrestled his first match at Wrestle Kingdom 9.
09:02Did Omega as a full-time member of New Japan and Bullet Club.
09:06He captured the title from Taguchi that night.
09:09Yeah, I remember that.
09:11And Port Taguchi, who came out here as part of the pageantry of Wrestle Kingdom 10,
09:16along with Kushida,
09:19got decimated for his troubles
09:21as he dressed like Doc Brown to support his friend Kushida.
09:30Nicely done there by Kenny.
09:32And the leg is hooked.
09:33The referee in position two-count only, and Kushida was able to kick out.
09:38Yeah, and you can notice on Kushida's right leg underneath his knee pad,
09:42and it looks like there's an ace bandage there.
09:44And if Kenny can notice that,
09:46well, Kenny's going to notice a choke with some tape instead.
09:49Perhaps that's something Kenny may focus on as this match rolls on.
09:57Blatant disregard for the rulebook.
10:00Shut up! Shut up!
10:03Shut up!
10:03Ah!
10:05Omega with a lot of controversial, inflammatory comments
10:09at yesterday's press conference.
10:12Kushida kept his cool, though.
10:16Just got cracked across the jaw, though,
10:19with an open-handed slap.
10:23Smart by Kushida.
10:24Lower his center of gravity.
10:26It doesn't allow his opponent to pick him up.
10:29You know, you learn these things
10:31as you're in more and more fights.
10:33Little things like lowering your hips
10:35or things like that
10:36can really change a fight.
10:41Underneath ice.
10:43Modified pain-lake kick there.
10:45We'll see some of that later on
10:47with AJ Styles, no doubt about it.
10:49But Kushida,
10:51I think he's got to feel good.
10:53He's taken everything that Omega
10:55and Bullet Club Young Bucks have dished out,
10:58and he's carrying the fight down to the champion.
11:02Springboard!
11:03Right to the top of the head!
11:06Omega, another kick absorbed!
11:08The kicks to the arm
11:10may impact some of Kenny's signature maneuvers,
11:14like the one-winged angel style.
11:16Nice.
11:18Tajiri, big influence on the career of Kushida.
11:20You saw some of that with the kicks there.
11:22Turns him around.
11:23Tornado, here we go!
11:24Nice!
11:24Into the modified Kimura there!
11:29His leg is on drop.
11:30Yes, it is.
11:31That is why the referee is forcing the hold to be broken.
11:35Those that train in jiu-jitsu know how painful that hold is.
11:41Right back to the arm.
11:44So now Kushida,
11:47we know what the formula is.
11:49You had to know going in
11:51that Kushida would look to try to win
11:52by the arm submission.
11:54Back at him in the throat!
11:55Very high.
11:58Caught him in the throat.
12:01Oh, that back chop, that's just dirty!
12:10Now Kushida reverses Omega.
12:14Underneath waist lock, no!
12:16Oh, that was cool!
12:18And Kushida knew it too.
12:20He was psyched that he hit it.
12:22Is this by accident or...?
12:24No.
12:25If you ask Kushida,
12:26he's going to tell you it was on purpose.
12:27Margin of error, very slight.
12:30Now Kushida goes for Brock and hits it!
12:37Smart of Kushida to roll back into the ring
12:41as the count begins on the champion.
12:44See, Tauzhi is sweeping on the ring.
12:46Well, he did get superkicked.
12:54And Omega gets caught coming in.
12:57That dropkick right to the side of the champion's head.
13:03Got it with the moonsault.
13:06To the center of the ring!
13:08And just on the escape of the cover...
13:11It's almost as if the cover was the prelude to the hold
13:14because during the cover,
13:15Kushida was able to trap the arm
13:17and now it looks like he could be going for a cross arm breaker
13:20but Kenny was wise to roll through.
13:23Now looking for a trapped German here.
13:25Kushida still has the arm.
13:28Kenny wise to get out of it.
13:30Yeah, Kushida dropped by and hard on his neck and shoulder.
13:34Kenny could have a torn bicep here
13:36but if it starts to change color as the match rolls on,
13:39that's what's up.
13:42And we've remarked before about the strength of Omega.
13:45Perhaps pound for pound, the strongest man in New Japan.
13:50I think Ishii would beg to do...
13:52Well, again, again, pound for pound.
13:54And when you look at somebody that's right on the cusp of that 220-pound weight limit,
14:00Omega tries to press that advantage as one of the bigger juniors.
14:03I admire Kushida sticking with his game plan here.
14:08From all the way up there, this does not bode well for Kenny!
14:16How do you not separate a shoulder?
14:19How do you not break an arm?
14:21It tells you just how good of an athlete Kenny Omega is.
14:24But this is a good idea.
14:25He focused the...
14:27Yeah, his arms.
14:29Right back to the arm.
14:36Nice half and half there.
14:38Kushida was able to block.
14:40Oh!
14:40Nice kick by Kenny.
14:43Blocked the knee.
14:44Wow!
14:46A little Hideo Nomo.
14:48Straight right hand.
14:52I don't care how long you train.
14:54I don't care how tough you are.
14:56Anyone can get knocked out from a punch to the mush.
15:03Second time.
15:04Oh!
15:05Of course, you're going to talk.
15:06I'm going to come.
15:07Kenny was able to roll in.
15:10That now creates space, and space is usually Kenny Omega's ally
15:14because it allows Kenny to build speed.
15:20Going to get some blood back into the shoulder and bicep area.
15:26Look, there seems to be a nice little knot in the bicep muscle,
15:30if we can see it again, right there at the top of the bicep.
15:33I'm definitely seeing something.
15:35And now...
15:38Nice.
15:40Back to the arm with the kicks.
15:43Yoshi, you've been in there, man.
15:44What's it like, you know, for you,
15:45when one of your limbs, your arms, or your leg
15:47are completely almost incapacitated?
15:50Yes.
15:50Up, up, up.
15:51One-winged angel here.
15:52We alluded to it earlier.
15:54Can Kenny pull it off with the arm?
15:55No, instead.
15:56Oh, look at that.
15:58There's that strength.
15:59I talked about it.
16:00Oh, he turned it over.
16:02Nice.
16:04Back to the Kimura.
16:05Trying to pull over.
16:08Modified here.
16:09Bit of a bicep cutter as Kushida tries to shift his hips now.
16:14Trying to get position.
16:16In some type of side control here,
16:19Kenny Wise to pull over onto his hips.
16:21And look at this.
16:21The tandem effort of the Young Bucks
16:23trying to pull Omega to the rope to force a break.
16:26But Kushida will not let go of the hoverboard lock.
16:30Kushida could turn this into an Americana
16:33if he chooses to here.
16:34Doesn't really have.
16:36Oh, wait a second.
16:37Taguchi back on his feet.
16:39Doc Brown.
16:40Taguchi.
16:40Taguchi back from the future.
16:42I couldn't resist.
16:43I'm sorry.
16:44They now let the Bucks have it
16:46with the trash cans they introduced.
16:50While that's going on,
16:52Kenny able to shift Kushida up.
16:55Kushida trying to fight.
16:56One-winged Angel.
16:58Kushida sends the urgency.
16:59Oh, distance form.
17:01Oh, God.
17:03Knee strike.
17:04Found it smart.
17:08Kushida could be out.
17:13Kushida almost.
17:14And you know, it tells you about Kenny's ego.
17:17Kenny could easily have tried to go for a lateral press there.
17:19But no.
17:20Wants to hit the big move.
17:22Look at that face.
17:23Look at that power.
17:26He will retain.
17:28No.
17:28Kushida kicked out.
17:30Kushida kicked out.
17:31Kushida kicked out denying Omega victory.
17:34Boy, Kevin, you hopped out of your chair on that.
17:36Did you see it?
17:37Did you see it?
17:38Did you see it?
17:38He was only light up.
17:39Yes.
17:41That's what it's all about.
17:42Yeah, it sure is.
17:46Kushida's time to dominate the division
17:48was derailed by Kenny Omega.
17:51And the cleaner will look down.
17:53Kushida's hopes and dreams once and for all.
18:08Every one of those D-strikes hit with precision.
18:11Here we go.
18:12If Penny hits this, it's over.
18:14No roll throw.
18:14Rolls through two.
18:16Yes.
18:26Good job.
18:27Good job indeed.
18:29Matt, it's a game of inches.
18:32A game of inches.
18:33Yeah, I talk about it all the time.
18:35In any combat sport, any fighting art,
18:38it's about positioning your weight.
18:40In this case, it was the positioning of the hips of Kushida.
18:43He knew that he would find himself in that position,
18:46and he had the perfect counter for it.
18:48And now, Kushida becomes the 73rd IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion
18:54in a great match.
18:57Congratulations, Kushida.
18:59Absolutely.
19:00Congratulations indeed.
19:01And to Kenny Omega as well.
19:04You may not agree with his personality,
19:07with his picadillos,
19:09with the way he presents himself.
19:10But what you can say about Kenny Omega
19:13is that he is a dominating athlete.
19:16But Kushida on this night was that much better.
19:20I agree with you.
19:22And Yoshi, you have to love the fact that
19:24New Japan titles are taken away
19:27from the Bullet Club in this match.
19:29Look at the smile on your face.
19:30Yes, of course.
19:32Well, you might find some friends on your effort
19:34as the Bullet Club Hunter in 2016.
19:36Yes, I will.
19:41Well, lucky for Kushida,
19:44his pal Taguchi,
19:45dressed as Doc Brown from Back to the Future,
19:48came back to life
19:50and was able to help
19:52keep the young bucks at bay
19:54long enough for Kushida
19:56to once again become
19:58the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.
20:04and we talked about it
20:05at the outset of the match,
20:07how important this victory would be
20:09and almost to the point
20:10that Kushida needed to win this.
20:11Now that Kushida has won this match,
20:14you can only imagine
20:15what the Junior Heavyweight division looks like.
20:22Kushida very popular with Ring of Honor fans.
20:27Absolutely, Kushida known throughout the world.
20:30Kushida will be back in Ring of Honor
20:32for the 14th anniversary weekend
20:34coming up in Las Vegas,
20:36which everybody's very excited about.
20:39That's in February.
20:40RO8Wrestling.com
20:41for tickets if you want to see
20:43the new champ.
20:50What this means to this young man.
20:52Victory tonight.
20:54Congratulations, champ.
20:58You please come back to Ring of Honor.
21:00We look forward to seeing you there.
21:02He said, please tell everybody
21:04in Ring of Honor,
21:05I'm coming back.
21:07When he comes back,
21:08he'll bring the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title with him.
21:14And you can see fans, young and old,
21:16they respond to Kushida.
21:17A spirited contest, an electric...
