Kenyan wildlife authorities swiftly intervene to free giraffe from tire encircling its neck

In Kenya, wildlife authorities saved a giraffe after a tire became ensnared around the creature's neck. Footage captured by Shazaad Kasmani depicts the officials locating the giraffe, sedating it, and removing the tire. Kasmani remarked, 'We were alerted that a giraffe at a wildlife sanctuary was seen with an unusual necklace around its neck. Upon reaching the location, we found that Suzie the giraffe had somehow gotten a discarded tire stuck around her neck, an odd choice for a fashion accessory. After tracking her on foot throughout the afternoon, the wildlife veterinarian and team successfully darted and sedated Suzie to swiftly take off the tire. She also received care for the wounds and abrasions caused by the tire. Fortunately, she has fully recovered.' This event took place in October 2019.
