Wildlife authorities in Kenya successfully intervened to aid a giraffe that had a tire trapped around its neck. Footage captured by a local observer illustrates the officials as they locate the giraffe, administer sedation, and remove the tire. Upon receiving reports of the giraffe displaying an unusual object around its neck at a wildlife sanctuary, the team embarked on a day-long effort to track the animal. After locating the giraffe, the wildlife veterinarian and staff were able to safely sedate the giraffe for the tire's prompt removal. The giraffe also received care for injuries sustained from the tire. Fortunately, she has since recovered completely.
