00:00Believe it or not, that's real.
00:04We didn't make it up.
00:05We didn't impose that on you as a prank.
00:09That would be a prank.
00:10It felt like a prank.
00:13Wes, remember that moment.
00:16What did you think?
00:17What was going through your mind in real time?
00:19Oh, I mean, I guess they can just kick this semi-far field goal.
00:24It's better than, you know, the tie.
00:26They got lucky getting that scat, fumbling the ball.
00:30But at least they got a chance right here.
00:32It would have been 40-something yards.
00:34A punch-out is not luck.
00:37It's premeditated.
00:38Yeah, but the thing is, for them, that game was going to be what Jaden Daniels did last year
00:43when he fumbled the ball and then the Bears come down and win the game.
00:49So for us, they could have kicked that field goal.
00:52The Giants couldn't win the game.
00:54The clock stops.
00:56The clock is just a formality on that play.
00:59And they decided to run another play, which I thought just from the beginning was confusing.
01:04But I thought, okay, I guess you throw it out maybe?
01:06Well, the kicker wasn't necessarily having a Mark Mosley type day.
01:12The Giants.
01:13The Giants kicker, yeah.
01:14Sure, but I mean, I don't know.
01:18Again, that was the 48 seconds I saw and I thought, okay, because they panned a Jaden with about 40
01:24and he was calm and cool.
01:26And I thought, okay, they know the situation with no timeouts.
01:30And the announcer even said they have no timeouts.
01:33And he thought, okay, they're going to maybe run it one more time and then go up and clock it.
01:38Because, again, the clock is a formality.
01:40If you kick it through the uprights, the game is over.
01:43And they didn't do that.
01:46No, I mean, it was – I'm glad that nobody was filming us at the time because I would hate
01:58to have it over the air what was said.
02:06I just – I couldn't believe it.
02:09I felt like it was a prank.
02:11It was something that Big Tony –
02:13SNL.
02:13Yeah, it was like this, Dale Frank.
02:16I thought maybe, you know, you may not – I'm a tad older than you, so candid camera was something
02:24that came up when I was young.
02:26It was almost like – I just couldn't believe that there wasn't a camera in that studio watching my reaction
02:33because I was almost in shock.
02:39Darryl, on line A, what was going through your mind in those closing moments?
02:43Did you ever think that what happened was possible?
02:47No, but I don't want this end-of-game clock management failure to make us lose sight of the fact
02:54that we have organizational failure.
02:57At the end of 2024, all I heard was how fortunate the Redskins are to have a superstar quarterback on
03:05a rookie contract and all of this cap room.
03:08And as we're up 27-13 and I look at our roster, I see we don't have a hammer to
03:18give the ball to win this game.
03:20We don't have the Hogs to lean on a defeated team to win this game.
03:25We don't have the pass rushers, the Manleys, the Mans, the Butses, the Grants to put a team into submission.
03:36Doc, you know, that is RFK weather up 27-13 against a division foe.
03:44Even if we won that game, how it ended, still inexcusable.
03:50I feel you.
03:53I don't take the parallel from the pass squads to this one because it's not fair to them.
04:02They're developing everything that you said.
04:05They're building a personality.
04:07They're building a way of how they operate.
04:12And those minuses you mentioned, I agree with you on it.
04:16And despite all of that, I felt they should have won the ballgame.
04:23And you were right in everything that you said, and I still felt we were the better team.
04:29I never felt we wouldn't win the game.
04:33It was closer than I wanted it to be, but I thought we can control this.
04:37We're up by 14.
04:38It should have been by 24, but it wasn't.
04:41You don't get anything.
04:42You got to take what you want.
04:43And it showed then that you're right.
04:46When we had to absolutely get pressure on him, we couldn't do it on demand.
04:53We could not stop their tight end.
04:55We couldn't stop neighbors.
04:58And then Terry was coming off injury.
05:01He made his presence known.
05:04And we can only go woulda, shoulda, coulda.
05:07All words of losers.
05:08Coach Frivanek, I hope you're listening.
05:11But no digs.
05:12And those kids stepped up.
05:13Now, we had some contributions.
05:15We had some people that stepped up.
05:19I always say this.
05:23Our performance has got to match our payroll.
05:27From what we're paying, are we getting our money's worth?
05:31And to me, that's how I look at everything.
05:33I don't mind you getting the bag, but what do we get?
05:38To have closers.
05:39You know what, neighbor?
05:40He's a closer.
05:43You couldn't stop them.
05:46And then they couldn't stop us.
05:48We had some guys.
05:48We know, scary.
05:50He showed his head.
05:51He reared his head.
05:51We knew he wasn't 100%.
05:53But we got to get more out of people that were.
05:57And I thought we were almost there.
06:01But we weren't.
06:02And in the end, when you don't win, somebody has got to be held responsible for it.
06:09Or it'll happen again.
06:11And again.
06:12And again.
06:13This ain't over, man.
06:15We're in the beginning of the season.
06:17This is not November, December.
06:21This is a chance right now you better line yourself up and be lucky or glad of what happened
06:27in Philadelphia and Dallas.
06:28If not, you're looking at the cellar, man.
06:31You're in the cellar and you're looking up.
06:33And the question is, how good can we be with the people that we have?
06:39Now, getting him back.
06:40Did he look like he hadn't played in several weeks?
06:43It looked like he's been out there the entire season.
06:48The dude is bionic.
06:51He had 200 yards in the air.
06:52I mean, technically 199.
06:54Yeah, he's bionic.
06:55He's over 100 yards on the ground.
06:57We talked about this.
06:58It was raining.
07:00It was a trashy environment.
07:02It was the worst you could imagine.
07:04And it didn't faze him a bit.
07:09So it's almost like now you have an obligation.
07:13You have a generational talent.
07:16What are you going to do?
07:21I'm still, you know, I understand that they beat the Seahawks.
07:25But now you have to.
07:26They beat him without him.
07:27Right.
07:28And, but you're going on the road.
07:30You have to play an undefeated San Francisco team who is about to also beat the Seahawks
07:36from the looks of it.
07:37But you have to win these games.
07:39Like there's no, you already have, you were five games in and you have one win.
07:45Yeah.
07:46So we have to, we have to understand that that is, I understand that, you know, the other
07:50teams lost in the division, but I don't care about the other teams in the division.
07:53They have to win the games.
07:55And they did that against Seattle, but they haven't beat a team in the same division as
08:00them.
08:01They lost the Eagles and lost the Cowboys.
08:03And then they just blew it against the Giants.
08:07So you have to be, you have to go on the road and win these games.
08:10You're going to have to go to the West and then you have to come home against the Eagles
08:12and Rams who are both possible playoff teams.
08:15You have to, if you don't win these games against playoff teams, then forget about it.
08:20Then you don't deserve it.
08:21You're right.
08:24Your record has got to match what you're paying.
08:29And I saw a lot of things that I was encouraged by zero blitz deal.
08:36And not having an answer for it because they're, they're, they're showing you that they're
08:43telegraphing what they're going to, their punch.
08:45We got to have a counter for it.
08:47We have to be better at that.
08:49Anthony from the district of Columbia on six.
08:52What say you?
08:54You beat me to the punch.
08:56I was going to say, where was the blitz beater?
08:59Where was the quick slant?
09:01Where was the passes, crossing patterns over the middle?
09:07I blame, I, the last play of the game, I go 55, Q, DQ, 25, Blau, 20, Daniels, as far
09:17as the blame goes.
09:19He said, DQ said in the press conference, that the intention was to try to get closer.
09:26It had nothing to do with, with clock, with the, with any time left on the clock.
09:32They wanted to get closer.
09:34Now, why Jayden didn't throw the ball away, I don't know.
09:38But he also said, said that he should have just lined it up and said, kick it.
09:44Spike it on that play, on that play and then just kick it.
09:47But that's what he said in the, in the press conference.
09:50So, it wasn't about, it wasn't about the clock.
09:52Right.
09:53But, also, our running game just isn't, isn't getting it done.
10:02I think it's more, I think it's more aligned than, than running back.
10:06Because, if the holes aren't there, the holes aren't there.
10:09I don't care if you got Riggins back there.
10:11I don't care if you got Jim Brown back there.
10:13If they can't get, get, get to a hole, it, it don't matter.
10:17And, also, the, the defense, as, as Max was, one of y'all was saying, unless we blitz, there's nothing.
10:35And, that's why they have all day to, that's why Jameis, of all people, could stand back there and throw
10:41the ball like that.
10:42Now, you notice, likely, he was there all day.
10:47But, for us, Chig disappeared.
10:51Now, why is that?
10:52Yeah, and he flashed today.
10:54I was like, okay, that's the Chig.
10:56We've been waiting to see how they take him away and we couldn't take their people away.
11:03Exactly.
11:03That's my point.
11:04So, I think, I think Blau has a lot more, a lot more homework to do.
11:13Because, on the, on the, on the, on the last drive to, to get to field goal position, you saw
11:19they changed up on the blitz and they started doing quick hitters.
11:23Well, you should have been, you should have been doing that in the fourth quarter when you couldn't run the
11:27ball.
11:28And, then, again, if, if they can get lively in the game all day to keep doing what he's doing,
11:35why can't you do that with Chig?
11:37So, we got homework to do.
11:39I know it's not over, but, damn, it damn sure feels like it's over.
11:43Yeah, this is a gut, I mean, this is, I appreciate you, dog.
11:46Been waiting to hear from you.
11:47This is a kick in the gut of the groin because this is like, I feel like I was being
11:55tortured watching the fourth quarter.
11:58And, it's a game that I felt like we were good enough to win it.
12:02It's what's supposed to happen at home.
12:05We got that going for us.
12:09And, five is, oh, man, he's over delivering.
12:12And, then, I'm saying, well, then we got to close this bad boy out.
12:18And, give the Giants credit.
12:21I mean, they took what they wanted.
12:23They ran a lot of plays.
12:25They ran 84 plays.
12:26The commanders had 60.
12:29So, the defense is going to be a little tired.
12:31But, the thing is, on the last drive for the Giants, on the 84th play, they got a fumble.
12:38Forced.
12:39And, the offense couldn't convert for them.
12:41They failed the defense.
12:43Absolutely.
12:44Absolutely.
12:46And, you don't divide it, you know, because you're all a unit.
12:52But, I saw a lot of things that, by Tuesday, I'll be encouraged by.
12:58Part of this pain is the process that you have to kind of endure if you're really committed to this.
13:05To understand it.
13:06Otherwise, you got to hold people accountable.
13:10People have to be held accountable.
13:12I always say, man, I wish I could watch the game in, like, 20 minutes after it's over.
13:19Because, tonight, I won't feel good about this until I see the game again.
13:22Then, when I get to the crib and I get to be able to look at it and see it
13:26again, I'll have a lot more answers then.
13:29I'll be better tomorrow than today because I will have seen the game.
13:33I can only remember segments of the game now.
13:37Now, I'll be able to go home and go, why?
13:40How could this happen?
13:42You know, who didn't give me 100% effort?
13:46Because, they play hard.
13:48But, I always look and say, did anybody quit on a play?
13:52Did anybody not sell out on a play?
13:55I need everything from every guy, every play.
13:58And, that's what I got to go back and take a look at.
14:03But, this is what happens, man, when it doesn't work.
14:07It doesn't go the way you want it to go.
14:09You don't get to celebrate.
14:11Man, those victories are just priceless.
14:15And, you don't get them.
14:16There's no bubble gum.
14:18What is your breakdown on the corners today?
14:20You know, there's times where they played well, but they still allowed what was 22 receptions to Malik and Isaiah
14:29Likely.
14:30Yeah, two studs.
14:31And, they were, I mean, I love two.
14:34I mean, it was a dogfight.
14:36And, you're going up against A1.
14:39You're looking at super talents.
14:43And, they're who they are for a reason.
14:46And, I thought that we were competitive, but we didn't get stops.
14:51I love Amik, man.
14:51I just love this kid.
14:54We rely on pressure.
14:57Again, I'm speaking out of school because, you know, it's hard to remember and not, having not seen the game
15:03again, to really look at everybody.
15:06And, all I look for is this, is did every guy bust his rear end on every play?
15:16And, if they gave it everything they have on every play, then I'm going to live with the outcome.
15:21I can live with it.
15:22But, if we didn't get everybody busting tail, then I'm going to have a real issue.
15:28Because, this is a moment that may reflect your outcome in December.
15:33And, you can't come back and get this one.
15:35So, the last drive, or I guess the first drive for the Giants, they kicked that field goal.
15:40It was in 12-6.
15:42And, the next drive was a touchdown, then touchdown, then touchdown, then it was the end of the half.
15:46So, you're looking at the last four drives of regulation for the Giants, where they scored.
15:52And, it could have been five, but it was a missed field goal.
15:57So, you can evaluate the defense.
15:59We haven't done too much of that.
16:01Obviously, we're going to criticize the end of the game, because they had a win, possibly, if they kicked a
16:06field goal.
16:08But, I think the defense still could have played better.
16:10Oh, yeah.
16:11If they don't force that punch out at the end of the scatterboot, we'd be on them like cheese on
16:17macaroni.
16:20Because, it's still, I'm not being disrespectful.
16:25But, nobody's two.
16:26Well, our two beat the Seahawks.
16:28So, it's not like, he can play.
16:32The number one pick in the draft.
16:33This guy's got pedigree.
16:34But, I didn't expect him to rip us up like that.
16:37I expected us to force him into errors.
16:44I don't want to ride on the officiating, but I got to mention it.
16:49And, maybe I feel biased towards it.
16:52But, I just felt like we got robbed on a couple of plays.
16:57That I totally disagree with the calls.
17:00Now, does that make me fanboy?
17:03Can I be right on that?
17:05How did you see the officiating overall?
17:08I thought it was fine, especially when you're comparing it to what happened in London.
17:13They had nine penalties, ten last week.
17:15Colts had one.
17:17Giants had seven.
17:18I mean, I'm sure the Giants can nitpick the referees and complain about their side in this game.
17:27Okay.
17:28Yeah, it's not a good practice.
17:30But, some of these things, you don't have bad luck.
17:37You just don't make plays enough to make you put yourself in the winner's circle.
17:42It bothers me that if I'm not doubling a guy, and I'm getting killed by him, then I got to
17:51question your design.
17:53There's got to be a way for me to force you to go to your left hand.
17:56I'm not certain that we did that.
17:58But, they went to who they wanted to go to when they wanted to go to him, and we got
18:03to be better than that.
18:06It, 621 here in the nation's capital.
18:09Burgundy and Gold postgame show.
