00:03A packed house for the opening of the 18th edition of the Festival Lumière in Lyon, France,
00:08which will honour the Coen brothers later in the week.
00:11On the programme, nearly 450 screenings.
00:14On the red carpet, a rug that really tied the room together,
00:18Euronews asked guests a single question.
00:21What is your earliest cinema memory?
00:24It was a Bruce Lee film. It was called Fist of Fury,
00:28the Chinese connection. I was like, I think, six years old when I saw it.
00:33And watching that film on Super 8 wheels, that was like taking speed.
00:39Well, Madeleine de Proust, no question, was the first film I ever saw.
00:44I was three years old and it was Mary Poppins.
00:46And it completely entered my physical and mental and creative brain.
00:59I have the great impact in front of Kurosawa.
01:04The first time I saw a film that I would say that this is very amazing is Yojimbo.
01:11I was like 14 years old. I walked in the theatre alone and I found out that was a very
01:17amazing movie.
01:20Among the guests was Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi.
01:23She was there to present Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, the film by Ang Lee that made her famous worldwide,
01:30screened for the first time in its restored 4000K version.
01:36It's the first time I've come to Lumiere.
01:42I'm very delighted.
01:45And yesterday I had a city walk and I think I've fallen in love with this city.
01:54Oh, brilliant.
01:55So I hope I have another chance to come back to the festival.
01:58Thank you very much.
