00:02Lisbon is hosting, through February 22, an exhibition inspired by the world of fashion designer Valentino Garavani,
00:11a collaborative effort with Portuguese sculptor and artist Joana Vasconcelos,
00:16who designed an exhibition layout at the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, MANT,
00:22where her own work engages in a dialogue with pieces created over the years by the Italian fashion designer.
00:28I had access to a service of Valentino and I could choose clothes that were not the cliché of Valentino.
00:37I wanted to show the diversity and the beauty of the work of Valentino,
00:42the way he worked the bordering, the fabric that he worked completely different ones from the others
00:48and how he, from the materials, transformed and created this woman idyllic, this woman deusa,
00:55that, in some way, he transformed the identity of women.
00:59At the center of the exhibition is the Valkyrie Venus, an imposing textile sculpture,
01:05conceived by the artist as a profound reflection on Valentino's legacy.
01:11A partir desta peça nasceu esta exposição em que vamos jogar no paradoxo entre o doméstico e o luxo.
01:19A mulher que está em casa, a mulher que está na intimidade, a mulher que não é vista e a
01:23mulher no espaço público,
01:24a mulher que se transforma em deusa porque veste um vestido do Valentino.
01:28E é esse diálogo entre o privado e o público, entre o doméstico e o luxo, é esse diálogo que
01:33é estabelecido nesta exposição.
01:35The exhibition includes some of Joanna Vascansello's most iconic works, as well as new creations.
01:42It follows a first exhibition presented in Rome at the PM23,
01:48the cultural space founded by Valentino and his life and business partner Giancarlo Giametti.
