00:00One of the big draft picks of a couple years ago was Marvin Harrison Jr. out of Ohio State going
00:05to the Arizona Cardinal.
00:07He is now on the move.
00:09We're going to get our friend USA Today's Jacob Kamaker's thoughts here on it as we go into the recap
00:14of Week 5
00:15and also tonight's games with the Rams and Bills.
00:19Jacob, right out of the gate here, were you surprised a little bit that you see Nick Casario make this
00:24move?
00:24I know that they end up getting their first win over the weekend, but it's a pretty big move.
00:30A lot of assets have to go out here for a guy like this.
00:33How surprised were you?
00:35I'm a little bit surprised just in the fact that they gave up a second-round pick for him.
00:39Now, that's not to say Marvin Harrison Jr. isn't talented.
00:41He's extremely talented, and he certainly needs a change of scenery.
00:45But we're talking about a guy who I believe across the first four weeks of the season had five catches
00:50for 85 yards at a touchdown.
00:51So I'm a little bit surprised the Cardinals were able to go out and say,
00:55hey, we do want this second-round pick for him.
00:58We are going to get that.
01:00I think Harrison has the built-in team control.
01:03I believe the Texans will be able to keep him under contract for two more years beyond this one.
01:08But still, it was a high price to pay.
01:11But I do kind of like it for the Texans because they're desperate for a number two receiver across from
01:16Nico Collins.
01:17And Marvin Harrison Jr. having that built-in chemistry with C.J. Stroud from their college days at Ohio State,
01:22that could be exactly what both of them need to kind of spark themselves and just get on the right
01:28track after what was really a rough couple seasons for them both.
01:31So I think the fit is great.
01:32I think the price was a little high just in terms of what I was expecting.
01:36But, hey, the Texans clearly believe they're getting a potential star player.
01:40And if they can turn his career around, he could end up being a top-tier talent for them.
01:45You know, if you think about it, too, you go into what, you know, maybe they got going on at
01:50Cincinnati with Jamar Chase and Joe Burrow.
01:52You want to put that relationship, you know, in a box there with those two players.
01:56But I'll also ask this.
01:58What does this mean then for C.J. Stroud's future in Houston?
02:01I mean, are they bringing this guy in for Stroud?
02:04Or are they bringing Marvin Harrison Jr. in for the next guy?
02:09I think they're bringing him in for Stroud because I just look at this and I'm seeing this as Stroud,
02:15you know, he's due for an extension soon.
02:17They have the fifth-year option, I believe, next year that this is kind of the time he needs to
02:22prove himself.
02:23And I think what the Texans are doing by bringing in Harrison Jr., they're saying this is going to help
02:28you.
02:28And if you cannot figure this out with this help we're giving you with a guy that you're familiar with
02:33who has a lot of talent,
02:33if you guys can't figure this out, then we might have to start thinking about, hey, is C.J. Stroud
02:39going to be our long-term quarterback?
02:41But I do think the Harrison acquisition is kind of about saying, all right, we are going to surround Stroud
02:46with so much talent
02:47that he'll have no excuse if things don't go well over the next year and a half as he looks
02:52to prove himself as that franchise quarterback.
