03:17Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago, our international audience.
03:20And of course, our brothers and sisters in Grenada.
03:23We welcome you to Beyond the Tape.
03:24I'm your host, Whitney Husbands.
03:26Now, I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend, a safe one at that.
03:29And the countdown is on for one of the best seasons in the world.
03:33That is Christmas, 74 days and counting as we get closer for that big day, Christmas Day to be exact.
03:39Now, speaking of a big day, today is a big day for us in Trinidad and Tobago
03:43because the budget is on and all eyes are glued to what is going to take place.
03:48And we already started receiving information.
03:50And let's see, the budget is moving very quickly for the fiscal year of 2026-2027.
03:55It's the second budget coming out from this said government.
03:59Now, of course, we will discuss that on more.
04:01But today is Monday and Monday is always a special day.
04:03Because we have a gentleman who is always willing, always prepared and ready to serve all of us out here,
04:09including the show, and make sure families get the closure that they need.
04:12We have El Capitan with us.
04:15I love to say it like that.
04:16Captain Rambrot, good evening to you, sir.
04:17Good evening, Whitney.
04:18And it's a pleasure again to be on TV6 Beyond the Tape.
04:21And a pleasant good evening to our international audience and especially our viewers in Grenada.
04:27I have to talk to you all today.
04:29Yes.
04:29I will call my number and I need you to help me look for somebody in Grenada, all right?
04:34Okay.
04:34So, yes, and good evening to the folks at home.
04:37It's been a quiet week for us.
04:40But at the end of the day, there were some issues on the weekend.
04:44I think we will discuss it.
04:46Yes, of course.
04:46I felt like Christmas coming into the city, the place was dark, which seems as if we're going to have
04:52an early night.
04:53Yes, from all quarter past five, past half past five.
04:56But I think more importantly, today was the budget day.
04:59Today was the day when the financial statement in terms of the intention of the government over the next fiscal
05:05year
05:05is presented to the parliament.
05:08And, of course, it will be debated and it will become the financial document which will guide the country over
05:15the next 12 months.
05:18So, I did listen.
05:19I listened as much as possible.
05:21And I will tell you this.
05:22There are some good takeaways.
05:23We saw the safety net, the country's social safety net.
05:29We saw some allowances being increased in terms of the senior citizen grant, the public assistance grant, the disability grant.
05:36I thought that was a positive because $3,000 now in today's can't support.
05:41Yes, that's not a surprise.
05:43So, even though it may look small, it will go and fill in a hole in terms of expended here.
05:50But there were some good takeaways that I also liked.
05:53So, you are a young professional, Whitney.
05:55Yes.
05:55So, I saw where for the first time government investment in government bonds and so has been brought in.
06:01From a thousand, I think $5,000 and $2,000.
06:03So, that the ordinary man could now go and purchase these.
06:07So, take for example, you have a $5,000 extra.
06:10The bonds are out there.
06:11You could purchase that for your daughter and probably she will reap the rewards whether it's a 10-year bond
06:17or a 20-year bond or a 30-year bond.
06:20Previously, these bonds were purchased by insurance companies and banks as secure investment because it was guaranteed by government.
06:30So, you know, I looked at that in terms of pensioners like me.
06:35I saw where, well, government pensioners, not the senior citizens grant.
06:40I saw where the personal allowance was increased because I strongly feel we shouldn't be paying any taxes at this
06:47age.
06:48But we do and so, there were some positives I saw coming out of the budget.
06:54What struck me was this.
06:56So, we've been oil and gas based economy and it is currently, we have a shortfall in production.
07:03It has impacted on the economy for the last 12 years.
07:07So, I saw that the revenue generated from oil and oil means oil and gas, $10 billion projected income.
07:15And then I saw from the non-oil sector, $45 billion.
07:19So, you know, it means that the economy is diverse.
07:25We're just expecting $10 billion from the oil and gas sector.
07:30It means, therefore, we have to continue in that direction so that we don't suffer these slow growth periods.
07:40But, I mean, we see, Captain, what is happening when you see the gas and oil sector, what we're seeing
07:46before us right now.
07:47I mean, where these major companies have been here with us for a while, they're officially closing their doors.
07:52So, they have no choice.
07:54They have to go in a different direction.
07:55Well, yeah, but, and there's, I was explaining to our friend, there's a different dimension to it as well.
08:01I don't know if you know that, and I stand to be criticized.
08:06I believe that government gets more revenue when gas is exported.
08:12And that's why you would find gas going to the point 14 Atlantic LNG processing plant for liquefaction and export.
08:22And that, then you have to have gas coming to these petrochemical plants.
08:26So, it's more profitable for government to sell the gas abroad directly and get more revenue.
08:33But, of course, you know, there are social impacts.
08:35Yeah, so we see any changes because...
08:37We see any changes, right?
08:38But, there is, they also dealt with the projection for some gas in 2027.
08:45I estimate that to be about 900 million scruffs of gas, which will add to our 2.3 billion currently.
08:52We were at, Whitney, in 2014, we were at 4.7 billion.
08:57And, I mean, we were doing well as a country.
08:59But then, it has dropped by 50%.
09:03Of course, because COVID, everything, inflation, recession, all over.
09:06So, I think adding a billion, estimated, a billion, standard cubic feet of gas, million, standard cubic feet of gas
09:16in 2027,
09:17we'll see an improvement in government revenues.
09:21And it shouldn't see, provide, you know, employment for persons because...
09:26Does God know we need jobs?
09:27You need jobs.
09:28I think, I think, as a retired person, when I reflect, I think jobs is sorely needed.
09:36And I'm talking about wealth, good, good, good, jobs which will provide persons with...
09:41Sustainability for themselves, their families.
09:44Well, I mean, the government started looking at aiming at another 50,000 jobs, so we will see how that
09:49goes from the 20,000 that they had opened up with the recruitment drive.
09:54But we will see.
09:55But we're solely in need of jobs in the country.
09:58A lot of jobs.
09:58Yeah, you know something, and you all, you have roughly about, I know this figure, about 18,000 persons turning
10:0818 every year.
10:10Because you have 18,000 children writing essays, so, you know, by 18,000, there's 18,000 around that.
10:16Approximately.
10:17And some have gone to, well, you have those who would go on to university, so you need, on average,
10:24about, I would say, 12,000 to 13,000 jobs every year just to keep people employed.
10:30And that's the reality.
10:32Yeah, so let's hope for the best and see changes being made, as they said.
10:36We will see a change coming in 2027, and let's see where they put things in place, because the main
10:42thing is employment.
10:43You need to make sure that we see the employment.
10:47And you need to boost the construction sector, because it could easily create jobs.
10:51Agriculture, sleeping on that.
10:53Agriculture, and I saw a small amount for road, I think $12 million, $15 million or so, and I was
11:00saying, that's the one thing that impacts our team, because we're on the road all the time.
11:05A little bit more there.
11:06Yeah.
11:06Because, Lord, the roads are just terrible.
11:08So, Captain, we have a lot to discuss, as usual.
11:10Yeah.
11:11And we are seeing more and more where, in situations where persons need to be mindful.
11:17They need to be mindful of what you're wearing, and it's sad that you cannot wear the items you choose,
11:22because these things will happen.
11:24And this is why we ask persons, just be aware of where you wear your jewelry.
11:28And this was a sad case, huh?
11:29Yeah.
11:30Captain, let's take a look.
11:33He is not even thinking.
11:35This is an elderly man, huh?
11:37Look at this young, this, the audacity of this monsters, call them monsters.
11:44Look at the impact on that elderly gentleman's back on that car.
11:48Watch it.
11:49Watch it.
11:49Watch the impact.
11:50Forget the fact that he has lost his change.
11:53Well, I don't even know if he really lose it, because it looked like he grabbed the jersey.
11:58I'm not sure if he got what he wanted, because he did grab the jersey.
12:02But this is a vicious attack on an elderly gentleman who is going about his business.
12:09But you're quite right.
12:10We continue to say, leave your jewelry at home, those gold jewelry, and there's plenty of imitation jewelry.
12:17So, if you know they have to steal, let them steal something that is cheap, the Brazilian gold.
12:22Yeah, the costume jewelry, and you're not sure.
12:24Well, I don't wear anymore.
12:26I certainly don't wear anymore, because I am trying to make myself a hard target at all times.
12:32But overall, I am hoping that the gentleman is okay.
12:35Okay, yeah.
12:36And of course, the relevant authorities, I know it's out on social media to find the individual who are doing
12:40this.
12:40For him, when I saw the impact on the car and his back.
12:43We don't know if it's just not his back, his neck, his head.
12:45He had everything.
12:46So, there's so many things.
12:47Captain, we have so many angry people out there.
12:48I am not going to lie.
12:50Persons are angry, and they're doing things and not being mindful that we have young people.
12:54The same young people be trying to correct, and let them know to do better,
12:58and not frighten the streets in the uniform, and disrespecting authority.
13:01We are the ones who are leading by example.
13:03And this is not an example for our young people.
13:06We're so angry.
13:08You can see here, angry individuals out there.
13:11This is, I believe, in the Kurep area.
13:13This is in the Kurep area.
13:14I don't know if you remember Whitney recently, the Trinidad, the big old police service.
13:18Look.
13:19But it's the woman that beats the night out, or is it a man?
13:21I'm not.
13:22Or is it a man?
13:22It's a man.
13:23I believe it's a man.
13:24It's a man.
13:24If you remember, the TTP has had a crackdown on this area.
13:28And if you're familiar with Kurep any night, you see the mixture of locals and Venezuelans.
13:35And the nationals.
13:35And they have the tendency, after consuming some with alcohol, to engage in this type of
13:43behavior.
13:44And I think it is prevalent in that area.
13:46Is he stabbing the man?
13:47Yeah.
13:47I think it's coughing at this point in time.
13:50But you know, that could result in severe injury and death.
13:54Because I don't know if you highlighted one where there was a little knife and cutlass play
14:00in Enterprise.
14:01Yes, yes, yes.
14:02You highlighted it.
14:03Yes, you did.
14:03And that ended up with, where five women intervened, you know.
14:08Yeah, trying to get them off.
14:10And one of them was killed, right?
14:12Yes.
14:12The younger one was killed.
14:15So these things could easily end up in injury, severe injury and murder.
14:20And people have, as adults, have to become better role models.
14:25Yes.
14:25Now, you mentioned an enterprising situation that took place there with the stabbing and
14:29the cutlass.
14:29And this happened on Saturday, busy corner in Chagornas, where persons witness, listen,
14:37the stabbing is taking place over the gun violence of both is just on a rise.
14:42Angry people and one person died in this incident.
14:46Yeah, really, really sad.
14:49To see this play out, Captain.
14:51Yeah, this was Saturday morning, I believe.
14:53Yes.
14:54Yes, Saturday morning.
14:55And it resulted in the death of someone, so, you know, to get up early in the morning
15:01and you're seeing that, especially if you're on the streets of Chagornas and you're passing
15:05in the corner, it's very busy at that time of the morning, right?
15:10And again, you know, overall there's this discussion on person's behavior and some of
15:15this we could reduce because if we just exercise patient and good, good, good, good, good
15:22behavior and practice being, um, doing good things at all times, these things wouldn't
15:27happen to you, you know.
15:28It is, it is really sad.
15:30And to hear persons, they see in comments, I was just outside, I just walked past the
15:34body, like, people are so numb.
15:36Yeah.
15:36Captain, it's a death around us now.
15:38It has become.
15:39It has become.
15:39Let me zoom in, let me see.
15:40Yeah.
15:41They want to see.
15:42Yes.
15:42The action.
15:43And, um, but the thing is, in such a situation, you put a lot of people at risk.
15:48The store owners, the persons who, who pass them by and, you know, going about their normal
15:54business, you're putting a lot of people to risk.
15:56Yes.
15:57And they are at risk.
15:59Now, what happened over the weekend, you could let us know the information.
16:04All right.
16:04So, I, I, I thought I would address this one frontally with our audience today.
16:09And over the weekend, a video service allegedly coming from another hunter search and rescue
16:15team, where it was, um, the video, any video, what was being shown was, uh, uh, um, an attempt,
16:23well, the finding of a, uh, 13-year-old girl, where she was interviewed by a gentleman who
16:30is not a police officer, and her face was all over there in her wet clothes.
16:35Now, that, that video went viral.
16:37And then it sparked a whole debate for the entire Saturday.
16:40Mm-hmm.
16:40And persons were saying that, listen, um, if you post a picture of her in a poster, then
16:47it's right to do what he did.
16:50Yes.
16:50Then you had persons saying, okay, they made an effort, they found the girl, but at the
16:54same time, what, the, the, the, the videotaping of the girl in that manner.
17:00Was unnecessary.
17:00Was unnecessary.
17:02So, let me just start at the end point.
17:03The end point is that the girl is in the custody of the Children's Authority, and she's receiving
17:09the necessary psychosocial, psychosocial, um, interventions and support.
17:14So, we sang the, the Children's Authority for that.
17:18Now, the second thing is, I want to say clearly was our team's policy in locating minors.
17:25Um, I have been a career educator.
17:27The policy was crafted by me when we started.
17:30I was fine-tuned with the help of police officers, senior police officers, and I want to thank
17:37senior superintendent, Claire Guy Allen.
17:40Yes.
17:41For the assistance she would have given to me.
17:44We, we, we appeared on radio programs, television programs together.
17:48The thing about her is I always listen to what, I consider her the nation's mother.
17:53Yes.
17:54Right?
17:54She performed excellently, and I learned from her.
17:58So, our team's policy is if, when we're looking for a female, a minor, um, what we do is that
18:05we will, when, once we get the location, we contact the police and ask the police to go and
18:12get that minor.
18:15It may be in a house.
18:16Now, I'll tell you, it protects our members because we don't know who is in the house.
18:20And the other thing is we don't have the right to enter property or to go and ask questions.
18:26That is the police jobs.
18:27And I've said it over and over.
18:29The team which I have the privilege to lead is one that we do not consider ourselves as police officers.
18:37But then there's the law.
18:39And what, what, what have we done as a country over the years?
18:43You know what we did?
18:45Internationally, there's the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
18:48And so, all participating countries that sign up to that treaty will come home now and say,
18:54listen, I'm going to begin to work on this and guarantee the rights of a child.
18:58And so, within Trinidad and Tobago, steadfastly over the years, we've created a whole legal framework
19:07and we've operationalized systems to execute the work as it, as it concerns children.
19:15The legal framework is the Children's Act and the Sexual Offenses Act.
19:19And if you understand that, that video should not have been done at all, at all, at all.
19:24You see, a child is now, now has a definition, a legal definition, 18 and under.
19:31And there are certain things that you have to know when it comes to the Sexual Offenses Act.
19:37Now, the head of the Police Communications Unit, Ms. Joanna, actually, reached out to me already
19:45and is saying, okay, Mr. Rambarat, we know your team has a policy,
19:51but there are others who may not know and have to come on board
19:54and they are willing to put together programs so that we all could learn.
19:59I'm a lifelong learner.
20:00Learn every aspect of the law as it pertains to minors.
20:05And victims, too.
20:08And victims, too.
20:09You know, one thing I admire about the police service,
20:13it was an issue.
20:17And, therefore, they created the Child Protection Unit within the police service.
20:22And then they now have the Special Victims Unit.
20:24So, as we go along, you're seeing where there's a deep dive to really deal with the issues.
20:32They're dealing with domestic violence as well.
20:34We're seeing this, Captain.
20:35The TTPS has a media release here.
20:37And they stated this to the public.
20:40So, the TTPS urges public to protect the identity of minors.
20:44The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is aware of a video circulating on social media
20:48in which a minor previously reported missing is shown at the time she was located in the company of an
20:55adult.
20:55The TTPS acknowledges the commitment of community organizations in assisting with the search for missing persons.
21:03However, the service is deeply concerned that the video identifies a child
21:07in circumstances that may form part of a police investigation.
21:12Images of missing children are shared with the public for one purpose only,
21:16to help locate them once a child is found, that purpose ends,
21:21continuing to publish their image, name, or any detail
21:24that may identify them exposes a child to stigma, trauma, and further harm.
21:30The TTPS reminds the public that the identity of any child
21:33who is the subject of a police investigation is protected by law.
21:38Publishing or sharing any material that may lead to the identification of that child
21:43may constitute a criminal offense, whether traditional media, social media users,
21:49or any person who posts such content.
21:52The matter is being investigated by the Special Victims Department.
21:56The child is safe and is receiving appropriate support,
21:59including through the Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago.
22:03So the TTPS therefore is stating,
22:05calls on all persons and organizations to remove the video and refrain from sharing it further.
22:12Requests that platforms and page administrators take down existing posts,
22:18and urges anyone with information relevant to the investigation
22:22to please contact 555-999-911 or the Special Victims Department regional offices
22:29at 612-0102.
22:34And the TTPS values the partnership with community groups
22:37and will continue to work with them to assure that efforts to protect our children
22:41never place them at further risk.
22:44And as leader of Hunter's search and rescue team, I would say this publicly,
22:48our number one stakeholder remains the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
22:53You recall two weeks ago I said we went on a search,
22:56we went to visit a home and it opened a can of rooms.
22:58Rooms, yes.
22:59That is related to this, right?
23:01And Sergeant Warwick of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service
23:05must be commended for his effort.
23:06And he was on standby in such a situation.
23:10The police service is there to support.
23:13And they would have ensured that all things would have been done appropriately
23:19and that the dignity that the child deserves would have been presented.
23:24That's it, yeah.
23:25We will discuss that and more, but right now let's take a look
23:27at what's making today's headlines.
24:11And those are your stories making today's headlines.
24:13Remember, you can also check out Marlon Hopkinson later on this evening
24:16to see the budget review.
24:18We take that break.
24:19We'll continue with more after this.
24:33We all know that not only fists, but wounds can beat you down.

24:48It's time to make a change.
24:51Be a body, not a bully.
24:53Tell someone.
25:01OK, let me see you, Cherry Hill.
25:03Yeah, now take it back.
25:05Let me see you.
25:05Rock off, rock off.
25:07Shake off, shake off.
25:08Let me see you.
25:09Rock off, rock off.
25:10Let me see you kick right.
25:11Now step forward, now step back.
25:14Lucas A, bring the energy.
25:16Unbeatable taste, new look.
25:18Shake off, shake off.
25:19Let me see you.
25:19Rock off, rock off.

26:20This is more than just news.
26:21It's accountability, the undisputed number one program in Trinidad and Tobago, delivering
26:26the hard-hitting investigations you rely on.
26:29The TV6 News, revealing facts, provoking opinions.
26:45And we are back, and of course we have Captain Rambarat here with us, and we dive straight
26:49in to the missing persons in the month of October.
26:53Yes, Whitney, thus far for the month of October, we've had 15 reports of missing persons.
26:59Because we still have five outstanding, but I just want to point out to you that out of
27:03the, so five outstanding, out of the ten, we had two persons being found murdered, a
27:10young man in Sandy Grandy, Tristan Steele.
27:14He was found murdered by in a cow pen, cow field, yeah, in a cow farm, just a few houses
27:21away from his home in Blake Avenue in Damery Hill, Sandy Grandy.
27:26And then we had Nairon Shady, age 20-something, I believe.
27:30He was found murdered in La Brea, both the gunshot wounds.
27:35So we want to extend condolences to both of the families.
27:39Still outstanding for October, we have Asia Grandison.
27:45Asia is from the Maloney area.
27:48Now, a couple of months ago, we would have highlighted her brother, who, again, was in
27:55a state institution.
27:58Yes.
27:58So it seems to be a family with some issues.
28:02And I had red flagged him, because we couldn't find him.
28:06But eventually, he was found.
28:09So his sister, Asia Grandison, is missing, and she was last seen in the Aranguese area.
28:15Before I came up, I was on the phone with some folks in Maloney, trying to see, you know,
28:21what is the situation with Asia.
28:23And then we have the situation with me.
28:26It's two persons missing from the Tobago, from Tobago, two fishermen.
28:31They left on Saturday morning to go to fish, Kester Alexander and David McLean Jr., two very
28:39experienced fishermen.
28:41Fishermen.
28:42And they went, you know, midway, you know, between Scarborough and Galera Point and Tobago,
28:49just about midway between the two countries to fish.
28:53And that's why I said I would talk to our persons in Grenada.
28:57Because what is happening there is that if there's something wrong with the boat, it will drift.
29:04And when we calculated the drift, that is David McLean, father and I, he's David McLean Sr.,
29:13we were able to calculate the drift.
29:16It will drift northwest, and it will throw that boat.
29:19It could possibly bring that boat to Grenada, carry that boat to Grenada.
29:24So, folks in Grenada, if you're locked on, I am at 1-8-6-8-7-9-9-1-4
29:33-5-3.
29:34I would appreciate if you all could message me.
29:37I'll send you this poster.
29:39And I would wish if you could circulate it amongst the Grenadian fisherfolk there.
29:44Because they go there to fish between Grenada and Tobago.
29:49And in some way in that vicinity, we suspect that that boat will reach.
29:53Captain, this reminds me of the two gentlemen who went to transport our boat.
29:59Yeah, they had left Tobago to get to St. Vincent.
30:02Silt or something like that.
30:03Yes, they were transporting our boat.
30:06And, you know, while I understand, there were two missing fishermen from Moruga on Thursday,
30:11but luckily they were found, right?
30:13So, please call us, message us, the persons from Grenada who locked on to the program.
30:18Then we have Kaylee Finley.
30:21She's still missing, age 14, from Digo Martin.
30:24So, we have Kaylee who is missing.
30:27We have a member who is dealing directly with the family.
30:30And hopefully we can locate her.
30:34She's from the Digo Martin area.
30:35So, if you have information, you could call Western Police Station.
30:39Or our team at 799-1453 or 800-TIPS-999-555.
30:48And then we have Carlos Married.
30:51And so, we're working closely with the Separia Police to locate him.
30:57We had information where he was, but when he was checked, he wasn't there.
31:01But if you see Carlos in the Separia area, please call the Separia Police Station or 799-1453 or 800
31:11-TIPS-999-555.
31:14Carlos is a young man and he should not be out there.
31:17He's 216 years old.
31:19He's already a couple of days.
31:21So, those are the missing persons, the five we have outstanding.
31:26And, you know, we should make every effort to remember, with respect to minors, how we treat them.
31:32Yes, most definitely.
31:33Now, remember, you all could give us a call at 623-1711, extension 1996 or 1997.
31:39We take that break.
31:40We will take your calls and more after this.
31:43As a teacher teaching how much he is, I never see if I have a subject called bullying on a
31:50timetable yet.
31:51But all them children want to beat up other children instead of beating their book.
31:57And to me, that is big, big failure.
32:01I promise to do my part to stop the bullying in the people and them school.
32:07But you see parents, you see uncles, you see grannies, you see aunties, you see nenens, all of them.
32:13And all of them, all you have to help out too.
32:17All you have to teach them the right way, boy.
32:19They have to choose peace, not physical and verbal violence.
32:26Teach them to be a body, not a bully.
32:30Tell somebody.

34:53You may be able to give us a call at 623-1711, extension 1996 or 1997.
34:58We have a caller and, of course, Captain Ramarat is here with us.
35:01Caller, good evening.
35:03Hello, good evening.
35:04Hi, good evening. How are you, sir?
35:06All right, I'm Captain Manage.
35:08Good evening, caller.
35:10Captain, the kind of fellow was lost in Otwaf, Otwaf, Otwaf, this day.
35:15What was the outcome of that time?
35:17That, that disappearance or so?
35:19How long ago was that, caller?
35:22Maybe a month?
35:23Maybe a month.
35:23Okay, you're talking about in the Tebland Forest, right?
35:26Come on, I'm a community name.
35:28Yeah, Vishnu Passad.
35:30Oh, sorry.
35:31Vishnu Passad, and he has been missing, lost in the forest when he went to Kachkongs, River Kongs.
35:37Since the 19th of September, so he's now 11 and 22 to 23 days now.
35:45Despite our best efforts, we've not been able to locate him.
35:49So I think if you're not able to locate him on the forest floor, I think, you know, other options
35:55must be looked at.
35:56It doesn't mean to say that we didn't miss any, we could have missed him.
36:00But I'll tell you from our team's perspective, when we look, when we look, we do a detailed grid search.
36:07And it's very difficult for us to miss something, like a human body on the ground.
36:12But, um...
36:12That forest terrible.
36:14Well, not terrible for us.
36:15We managed it well.
36:17And I wanted to go back in on the weekend, but the rains came, and we wouldn't go in the
36:25rain.
36:26But, you know...
36:27I'm curious, sir.
36:27You know, you're going to see these guys that sing on TV now.
36:29One, two, one in the forest, and he never come back out.
36:32Yeah, you do.
36:33But, Cap, that brings me to the issue that is being discussed at the moment, and I will not go
36:39into it to congratulate any details.
36:42But, Cap, how you could stay in the forest for so much a day without a proper shower,
36:47especially for a young lady, a young girl child, with all that proper access to little help, care, and so
36:55on.
36:55Cap, I find that disturbing, boy.
36:57Cap, I want to tell you that on this issue, in my mind, my humble view, sir, you are the
37:03person who shows true leadership
37:05and how this gives you an alert, and I have to congratulate you for that, and I know you've got
37:10an award,
37:11and I think that is a well-deserved award.
37:13So, the final point, Cap, is that I've seen them selling them pulling the freezer with spooky, boy.
37:19I hope them continue to respond to reality, but I can't take that to them, boy, Cap.
37:24Yeah, let me deal with the last point with you, right?
37:26There are a few hunters now.
37:28Kola, a few hunters now, and the game is rich, and, you know,
37:33you don't have the hunters going to the Penny Forest anymore.
37:36They park on the side of the road.
37:38They may be going a mile or two, but that's as far as they go.
37:41Our interior of our forests are well-protected, so I don't think overhunting could be an issue.
37:47And on the second point, I want to say this.
37:50If you're searching, if you form an organization to search for or help families,
37:56you must be cognizant of the environment in which you operate.
38:01It should not be a free-for-all.
38:04One of the things I teach all members is that, firstly, there's ethics in everything that you do.
38:12Correct.
38:12And there is a family, and with families, and that is why the police service is like how it is,
38:21you know.
38:21They're very protective of information, and I understand that now that I deal with them.
38:27So you have to be very, very sensitive.
38:31You have to be passionate.
38:33Sorry.
38:33You have to have compassion.
38:36And you have to be aware of the laws, and you have to be aware of the legal framework,
38:45and what other operating systems are there in the country that could do more than you can do.
38:51And that's why I said, when Sergeant Warwick would have known that he had CPU to go to,
38:59he had the Children's Authority, he had senior police officers.
39:03You must also be considerate as well.
39:05Because we forget the victims.
39:06I guess that's why I mentioned compassion.
39:08You have to have compassion.
39:10Yes, you must be considerate and mindful.
39:11You must have compassion, Carla.
39:13And I think if you're leading, you must always demonstrate leadership by example,
39:20and that is the example I said for our teammates.
39:23We have our own code of conduct, and we've now published our policy,
39:28but that has been our policy for maybe the second year since we formed.
39:32It took some time to craft.
39:34It took some time to understand the police service because it was a steep learning curve for us, you know.
39:40It doesn't show enough.
39:41I've never been in a police station, so I didn't know how it operates.
39:47But persons like senior superintendent, then you have head of communications,
39:56Ms. Johan Archie, who also has superintendent.
39:58He's now retired, a gentleman who held my hand and walks me through the anti-kidnapping unit operations
40:04and how it should be.
40:06He's a buff me, you know.
40:07He corals down the line.
40:10And then in the next hour, even how I respect that gentleman, that is retired superintendent, Daryl Ramdas.
40:18In the next hour, he will call me.
40:20I will call him and we'll have a normal discussion, and that is when I gained his respect.
40:26It was like that never happened.
40:28We're back to normal.
40:29But, you know, he was a professional in every regard.
40:35Yes.
40:35Now, Captain, I don't know if you saw the cattle situation where the accident was running aimlessly across the road.
40:43I didn't see it.
40:43You didn't see it?
40:44I think I need to get Jackie.
40:46I'll ask Jackie to pull that up.
40:47But we have a caller.
40:48I want you to see it.
40:49Caller, good evening.
40:52Hello.
40:54Yeah, hi.
40:55Good evening.
40:55Good evening.
40:56Good evening.
40:56Hello, I'm going to see Mr. Amara.
40:58Good evening, caller.
41:00Yeah, I'd like to congratulate Mr. Ayubi, I think that's his name, of the other funders association,
41:12for an excellent job in finding the young baby.
41:16Okay.
41:17So, I'd like to say this, and to also to add that I hope that this experience, that they would
41:24have also learned.
41:25And I agree with Mr. Amara that you have protocols which you should follow.
41:31And I hope that the other group, they will learn from this.
41:35But I think Trinidad is better for those guys.
41:40They have found her after how many days, whether something days.
41:42So, again, I'd like to congratulate them.
41:44I want to really, and this is not a mama guy, to really congratulate them.
41:49They did an excellent job in bringing her home.
41:52And, yes, they learned.
41:54And I think that the Prime Minister was very generous in that she didn't knock them.
42:00She kind of praised them in a way.
42:02And I think that they deserve it.
42:05So, I'd like to say congratulations to the gentleman on television.
42:12He also, and his team, they do a phenomenal job.
42:16And I'd like to recognize that and to say thank you, sir.
42:20And thanks to both of these, of these, the contest group.
42:24And they've been, they've been working.
42:27And we're all getting up there for free.
42:29Thanks again, and thanks for taking my call.
42:31All right, thank you so much for calling, Captain.
42:33Yeah, and thanks much appreciated, Carla.
42:35And I think you went into some, you know, a balanced argument.
42:40It's not really about, you know, we do exceptional work.
42:44Correct.
42:45But it's a lesson to be learned.
42:47It's not easy.
42:48Like, you know, it's exactly what the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is saying.
42:54You know, you have to be cognizant of the laws governing minors.
42:58And you need to understand the situations in which you operate.
43:03And you have to, at all times, respect the dignity of a child.
43:08All right.
43:09I don't know if Jackie can get that video for us when we come back after the break.
43:12But we will see what could happen.
43:13We take that break.
43:14We'll take your calls and more after this.
43:17Mommy, Kevon, girl, trouble.
43:19I'm telling you, you remember your bigger one that you didn't send you a few years ago, Cohen?
43:25Mommy, I don't know what to say again, you know.
43:28When Kevon was in Form 1, he was nice to bad potential like that, Mommy.
43:34He reached Form 2.
43:35He started a gamble.
43:37He started a cuss.
43:38He taxed people cheering.
43:40Getting into a set of wrong crowd, Mommy.
43:43Kevin, you feel me?
43:46I know you're selling marijuana on the school compound.
43:48What trouble is that?
43:50You want to end up in Aruka, in Golden Grove?
43:52You go ahead.
43:54Go ahead.
43:54But that would not be your story, sir.
43:57That is not your story.
43:59No matter how much the tension and how much community service and thing you're getting,
44:04you have to change.
44:05It's time for Mr. Kevon to flip the script.
44:10Flip the script is a multi-pronged campaign focusing on the 17 priority schools.
44:16The initiative is led by the Community Relations Secretariat and includes the Community Oriented
44:22Policing Unit, the TTPS Band, the Police Youth Clubs, and the Mounted and Canine Branch.
44:29The TTPS, working with schools, families, and communities to break the cycle of violence
44:36and start a new chapter in the lives of young people.
44:41Mommy, we are going to help Kevon rewrite his story.
44:45And Mr. Kevon, we are going to help you flip your script.

47:27The fearless one, with Andre Earl Batiste, is on your side, still fighting strong.
47:34I still believe, yeah, I still believe.
47:38iSports on I-95.5 FM, with the fearless one.
47:42The legend continues.
47:44This is my fight song, take back my life song.
48:03And we are back, and of course we're here with El Capitan, the gentleman that we love so much.
48:08And speaking of celebrating, you're celebrating.
48:12Today, is it today?
48:13Yes, today.
48:13You're celebrating two years?
48:14Today, yes.
48:15Two years on Beyond the Tape.
48:16Yes.
48:17So in 2024, October, I made my debut.
48:19It feels longer than that, by the way.
48:21Yeah, it feels longer than that.
48:23And let me just say thanks to the CEO of One Media Limited, Ms. Dawn Thomas, and to our producer,
48:32of course, Jackie, and Ms. Joanna Archie, who is head of communications at the Trinidad Abigo Police Service.
48:39You know, they did their thing, and I came in here, and I enjoyed every bit of experience I've gained
48:46in terms of being live on media.
48:48That's one.
48:49And the second thing is that I feel strongly that being an advocate of missing persons, you know,
48:59we would have brought that to the forefront, and it needed to come, you know, a little more so that
49:03we could have reduced amounts of missing persons in Trinidad and Tobago.
49:10And, you know, so it has been a great experience.
49:15In the two years, I missed three Mondays.
49:18Two because I was in Tobago, one for a lost hunter, and the other one for baby Angela, of course.
49:23And then one day I was in Ikakas, where to get out with the police, we found a gentleman's body.
49:30But I was unable to get back to the studio from Ikakas.
49:35I've only been three years, three shows, but it has been a wonderful experience.
49:40And we are blessed to have you, you know, and I just want to find out from you the importance
49:45of having teams like yours to assist the police,
49:49or is it that it wouldn't make it major, like a big deal if you're a loner term because your
49:54officers can do their jobs?
49:56Well, I think they recognize the TTP, yes, recognize the importance.
50:01And I think it stems from the fact that the officer has issues going into the bushes as well, right?
50:08And so here it is, you know, an organization was formed that could get into the bush or get anywhere
50:15and try and help.
50:16And actually, you know, be able to talk to parents and children and see if you can sort out your
50:22differences when they go missing.
50:25Juvenile, juvenile, persons who are juvenile who go missing is an international problem.
50:31It burns a lot of resources, and we just, they're happy to lend our experience.
50:36But, Captain, before you all, the officers would have been doing what you're all doing here right now?
50:40Yes, yes, they would have been doing what we're doing, and they normally would have, in terms of conducting searches
50:48and recovering dead bodies,
50:50they would normally have depended, and I'm sure Ms. Archie is looking on, and she would remember those days,
50:56farmers, farmers, fisher folk, persons, ordinary persons who work the land, to spot and report.
51:07But as we got along, you find that less persons were becoming involved in that,
51:14or communities organized their own search parties.
51:17Yes, yes, as a search party.
51:19Search parties.
51:21But as we moved along, we found that some people couldn't care less.
51:25Somebody go missing, they're pretty good.
51:27Once it's not my child or my family member, I don't care.
51:29Once it's not my child or that, and I'm getting involved.
51:31So that community effort was not there anymore.
51:35And I think we came in at a time when we filled that gap.
51:38And I would say that the police service has continued to recognize the need, the work we do, and that
51:46has encouraged us.
51:47And even what transpired over the weekend, they said in their press release, you know, that they cherish the work
51:54that the groups do.
51:55And we, however, additional training is necessary.
51:59And I was just saying that you can step in to train.
52:01And they have stepped in to train us already.
52:04Yeah, they can train you all as well.
52:05And they will train us 30 of hours made.
52:07Yes, yeah.
52:08So, you know, already made.
52:10Because I think they want to see us follow the guidelines.
52:14Now, so, yeah, two years.
52:16No hands on deck where we see Captain Ambrose and his entire team work together to make sure that we
52:24see our family and love our family and cherish our family.
52:28Now, quickly, before we make a move, let's talk about the rescues quickly because I understand.
52:32Yeah, well, you know, I think the members of you know that we stretch ourselves a lot, right?
52:37So, if we're not in the field, we do wildlife rescues.
52:40So, during the week, we had a monkey.
52:42Someone's pet monkey got away.
52:44We were not able to identify the owner.
52:47But he was badly bitten by two dogs.
52:49And we rushed there to get him to the vet.
52:54But on arrival at the vet, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
52:58But I want to make this point.
52:59Please do not keep monkey as pets.
53:02And in beach, in beach, this owl, possibly during the night, got his wing caught up on the tip of
53:09the chaining fence.
53:10And in the morning, the homeowner called us and we were able to get it out and get it to
53:17the vet.
53:17Thankfully, it had no broken bones.
53:19It would take about probably eight weeks for the soft tissue to heal.
53:24And for this lovely, spectacled owl.
53:29So, you knew it had that in Trinidad?
53:31Yes.
53:32You knew.
53:32This one is a, you have five types of owls, right?
53:35Yes.
53:35Remember what you said.
53:37It's a spectacled owl.
53:38So, he should be able to recover and be released soon.
53:43Captain, we appreciate you always.
53:44You all travel far and wide, near and far.
53:48Regardless of where you need to go, you are present to rescue humans.
53:52And the animals are that way.
53:54We appreciate you.
53:54Thank you so much for being here.
53:56A special good evening going out to Selwyn and Judy, who is locked on right now.
54:00You all have a great one.
54:01Gav News up next, TNT.
54:02God bless.
