00:00Former Minister Khairi Jamaluddin says wrongdoing should never be defended,
00:05even when it involves UMNO leaders,
00:07stressing that political loyalty must not come before integrity.
00:12Khairi said people should not be afraid to discuss corruption involving their own leaders,
00:17maintaining that allegations of wrongdoing and mismanagement must be addressed.
00:22He added that what is wrong should not be defended,
00:26and that where a case exists, those involved must answer for it without compromising on integrity.
00:33Khairi was speaking at the International Young Future Leaders Summit,
00:36alongside Slangoman Tripasa Amiruddin Chari and Johoman Tripasa On Hafiz Ghazi.
00:42His remarks came after a student raised concerns about corruption,
00:46public donations and support for former Prime Minister Najib Razak.
00:51Meanwhile, On Hafiz described corruption as a cancer that undermined progress,
00:57but warned against selective prosecution.
01:00Without naming any specific cases, he claimed recent developments amounted to political persecution.
