00:00Shane Gillis did his monologue on SNL, and the thought, for the most part, is pretty funny.
00:04He just kind of goes at it.
00:06Gotta respect that he takes chances up there.
00:08The debate over Shane Gillis' SNL monologue is raging on.
00:13That was radio star Bobby Bones on his 25 Whistles podcast defending the comedian.
00:18But former Saturday Night Live scene-stealer Ego Wodham may be having the last laugh.
00:23She trolled Gillis with a gym selfie, saying she's, ahem, reporting for duty.
00:28Her next Instagram story joked,
00:36It was one of many spicy clapbacks coming for Gillis, after his opening monologue on October 10th took aim at
00:43female gym-goers who wear skimpy shorts.
00:47Also, I haven't been to the gym in so long, I didn't know women just dress like whores now.
00:52Those neon, they're like the only, they're like artificial bait-colored.
00:56And the wrinkles, the wrinkles go like around the cheeks and all combine at the butthole.
01:03Backlash was swift.
01:05Country singer Maren Morris said, leave my gym short wedgie out of it, and flipped him the bird.
01:11She also reposted Schitt's Creek creator Dan Levy's takedown.
01:14Women wearing short shorts to the gym does not make them whores.
01:20It makes the men calling them whores misogynists.
01:26There's a difference there.
01:28Elsewhere on Gillis' third time hosting SNL, he accidentally dropped an uncensored F-bomb during a Dr. Seuss-inspired sketch.
01:35But he may like green eggs and ham.
01:38Bro, it's a non-starter.
01:40He told me, he said he doesn't cheese like them.
01:44Whoa, bro.
01:51The gaffe was censored in later versions of the show.
01:54However, SNL may skirt free from any FCC fines, seeing as it airs well past the 6am to 10pm window,
02:01which is regulated by the feds.
02:03During his goodbyes, Gillis apologized, saying, sorry about earlier.
02:08And diehard SNL fanatics will remember when cast member Jenny Slate accidentally dropped an F-bomb herself way back in
02:152009.
02:16But back to Shane.
02:17This is far from his first controversy.
02:20In fact, earlier this year, his roast jokes rubbed many people the wrong way.
02:24Here's what Page Six reported back in May.
02:26It's just everything we know, that they're racist, that they're bigots, that they're sexist.
02:31You know, that they think they're, like, invincible.
02:35Did you feel, I mean, did you like the s*** they were saying out there at all?
02:39No, I mean, it was ick.
02:41It was gross.
02:41There's no, I don't find those jokes to be funny.
02:44Jokes about lynching black people or, like, lynching is not a joke.
02:50It's not, that's worse than rape.
02:51Chelsea Handler gave withering comments about fellow comedians Shane Gillis and Tony Hinchcliffe's polarizing jokes, following Netflix's The Roast of
03:00Kevin Hart, which aired earlier this month.
03:02During the latest episode of Dion Cole's Funny Knowing You podcast, Handler labeled Gillis and Hinchcliffe bigots, and specifically called
03:09out a joke that Roastmaster Gillis made poking fun at Hart's hype.
03:13He said Hart was, quote, so short, they're gonna have to lynch him from a bonsai tree.
03:18Handler also revealed that Gillis' ex-girlfriends were blowing up her DMs ahead of the roast with dirt on him.
03:24Essentially that he believes himself to be uncancellable, Gillis was pulled from the Saturday Night Live cast in 2019 ahead
03:31of the premiere, over racist, anti-Asian jokes that surfaced, but then returned to host the show twice.
03:37Since his SNL firing, Gillis landed his own Netflix show, Tires, season 3 is coming in August.
03:45For Hinchcliffe's part, in 2021 he was dropped by his agents, after this stand-up set in Austin, Texas went
03:51viral, where he made racist jokes aimed at the host, comedian Peng Dang.
03:55How about one more time for the filthy little f***ing sh**t that was just up here?
04:00While all you f***ing race traders are hooping and hollering, I'm back there watching you puking in a f***ing bucket.
04:09Oh, we're making a gunpowder.
04:11Oh, you want extra soy sauce.
04:13Oh, you borrowed money from us, and you guys are just beating it up, you f***ing sh**t.
04:18At the Kevin Hart roast, Hinchcliffe got heat for making a joke about Sheryl Underwood's husband's suicide, and one about
04:24George Floyd.
04:26Meanwhile, Gillis raised eyebrows during the special by labeling Handler a Zionist, and alleging she went to dinner at Jeffrey
04:32Epstein's house in 2010.
04:34In response, Handler called out Gillis' anti-Asian reputation.
04:38Shane has been accused of being anti-Asian, which is ironic, considering he has the complexion and physique of a
04:46steamed dumpling.
04:49The 51-year-old veteran comic is now ripping Gillis and Hinchcliffe's jokes about her at the roast as just
04:55plain lazy.
04:56Like, what were they going to say about me?
04:58They couldn't say anything other than that I'm a whore or my age.
05:03I think that was the other thing that they went in.
05:05And you're like, well, okay.
05:07Those aren't jokes.
05:08That's not clever writing.
05:09And I knew they would be lazy because they do that for a living.
