00:23So, as long as we laid that foundation at the start, we got a 50-plus opening partnership.
00:26So, it was good for us to start the innings.
00:29And then, obviously, when you got that foundation, you can express yourself a bit more in the middle period
00:34and then try to give the team the best finish that they possibly could.
00:37The West Indies scored 247 for three from their 20-overs,
00:40with Hope getting an unbeaten 102 of 50 balls laced with 4-4s and 9-6s.
00:46Even though the result is now history, was Hope satisfied with his team's total at the halfway stage?
00:52Well, I honestly felt it was a decent score because his surface was actually holding a bit more
00:56than we thought. Initially, we felt as though the pitch would probably come on a bit better.
01:01But I found with the new ball, some balls were kicking a lot more and then some were staying down
01:06as well.
01:06So, it was a bit too paced to start. And then, obviously, with the spinners and the grippers in the
01:10back end,
01:11it was a little bit more difficult to hit through the line. So, I felt as though 240-plus was
01:15a decent score.
01:16This was the third time the West Indies scored in excess of 200 in the T20 series.
01:21And once again, India's captain Sriyas Iyer was disappointed that his bowlers were unable to deliver.
01:27Yeah, it all started with bowling. I think we didn't execute our line and lengths well.
01:31And, see, at the end of the day, chasing 250, you have to go in a certain pattern when you're
01:35coming and chasing.
01:36So, I liked the approach when we were chasing, but we were unfortunate we couldn't execute our plans in bowling.
01:43And that's where we fell a bit short.
01:45Just for the record, both teams have met 35 times with 22 wins for India, 12 for the West Indies
01:51and one no result.
