00:14a cancerous tumor from his lung.
00:16Millions of faithful around the world have sent their prayers.
00:20SpaceX boss Elon Musk said any limits on Ukraine's use of Star Shield are set by the US government,
00:26not his company, adding that speed and usage limits are decided by the US military and
00:31ultimately by US President Donald Trump.
00:35Musk was responding to a post by Mikhailo Fedorov, Ukraine's foreign defense minister, who said
00:40removing Star Shield's speed limit was critical for Ukraine's defense.
00:45Ukrainian defense officials have suggested Washington was behind slower connections affecting
00:49military drones.
00:51Earlier, Kyiv also accused the US of failing to warn it about incoming Russian missile strikes
00:56as an overnight Russian attack killed at least one person and injured more than 20.
01:02Strikes also targeted Kyiv's CHP-4 plant, which supplies heating and electricity to the
01:07capital, according to Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky.
01:10Trump denied any claim that Washington had threatened to stop sharing intelligence about
01:15Russian missile launches.
01:18Meanwhile, Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni called a US-Russia diesel deal a very risky
01:24choice warning it could weaken sanctions on Moscow and legitimize Russia.
01:35NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has urged allies to send more air defense to Ukraine.
01:41His plea comes amid Russian targeting of Ukrainian civilians and civilian infrastructure.
01:46But with winter coming, and with Russia's aggression unrelenting,
01:51allies need to do more, especially in support of air defense.
01:55Russia continues its attacks on Ukrainian civilians.
01:59And it continues its hybrid campaign against NATO allies.
02:03Rutte said the arson at Milram Robotics in Estonia in August was part of Russia's hybrid campaign
02:09against the North Atlantic alliance.
02:11Putin is trying to weaken our resolve and stop our support for Ukraine.
02:17But Russia is failing.
02:19It is failing on the battlefield in Ukraine, and we will not be intimidated.
02:26Over 600,000 people across Ukraine were left without electricity Wednesday after deadly Russian
02:31ballistic missile and drone strikes, said Ukrainian President Zelensky.
02:41Spaniards will have to choose between the far-right and the current government.
02:45Spain's Minister for Foreign Affairs has told Euronews ahead of next month's elections.
02:50Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has called snap elections for the 29th of November,
02:55after Parliament rejected his government's proposal responding to the housing crisis.
03:00Several polls predict the center-right People's Party and far-right Vox are set to win a combined
03:06parliamentary majority.
03:08The president decided to ask the Spaniards for a clarification.
03:12They want that type of Spain run by the extreme right and a reactionary coalition that really
03:21don't care about the rights of the people or they preferred the current government that has put
03:26Spain at the highest economic growth and always protect the rights of the people.
03:32It's up to them to decide.
03:35Albanese warned the far-right is a threat for Spain and Europe.
03:38There is a risk for the rights of the people, for all their social rights, for the pension
03:46rights, for the public education and the public health.
03:51And at the same time, extreme right is always connected with forces abroad European Union
03:57that try to divide us, that try to divide Spaniards and Europeans to make us weaker and
04:03to weaken our democracy.
04:06As far-right Vox capitalizes on migration and the Ceuta migration crisis, Alvarez stressed
04:12most of the migrants who illegally entered the Spanish exclave in July have returned to
04:17Morocco.
04:20U.S. President Donald Trump has wished Pope Leo XIV a quick recovery after surgery to remove
04:25a cancerous tumor from his lung.
04:27Trump told reporters that he wants to see Pope Leo get well and get better fast.
04:32Big stuff, anytime you have cancer.
04:34But the prognosis seems to be good, I've watched.
04:37And we just want to wish him our love and our best wishes.
04:41The Vatican said the Pope had a calm night at Rome's Gemelli Hospital.
04:45Doctors said he was out of bed walking and eating after the operation.
04:49The faithful around the world sent their prayers to the Catholic leader while others
04:53gathered outside the hospital.
04:56The 71-year-old underwent a 90-minute procedure on Tuesday.
05:00Surgeons remove part of his right lung and tests are now needed to see whether the cancer
05:05has spread.
05:06The Vatican said it was found early and was localized.
05:11Doctors are not considering chemotherapy or other treatment until the results are available.
05:17Leo is expected to stay in hospital for about a week.
05:20And all his public appearances have been cancelled until 20th October.
05:24Questions remain over his planned trip to Uruguay, Argentina and Peru from 6th to 17th November.
05:31The visit expected to be the longest of his papacy would involve more than 31,000 kilometers of travel,
05:37including 12 flights and two helicopter journeys.
05:41The Vatican has not confirmed whether it will go ahead.
05:50Supermarkets in France were restocking on Wednesday, days after being hit by a cyber attack
05:55that caused refrigerator temperatures to shoot up to as high as 50 degrees Celsius,
06:00forcing stores to discard fresh and frozen goods.
06:03But France's cyber security authority warned that the attack may still be ongoing,
06:08urging stores to reconnect refrigerators to the internet only through a secure VPN connection
06:14or protected network, install firmware updates and change passwords.
06:18The attack affected hundreds of shops from major retailers Isleclerc, Intermarché and CooperativeU
06:25across France.
06:26Intermarché reported losses of tens of millions of euros in a single day.
06:31It comes as supermarkets in the Netherlands and Belgium were hit with a separate cyber attack
06:36that affected the online services and distribution centers of the major Dutch chain Albert Heijn.
06:42The incident halted home deliveries and disrupted supplies to its extensive network of stores.
06:48Authorities in the Netherlands and France were investigating the cyber incidents,
06:52but said they saw no connection between the two events.
06:55The attacks have raised questions about food security,
07:00against a backdrop of growing concern over the potential havoc that can be caused in Europe
07:04and all sectors by malicious actors carrying out cyber attacks.
07:13Russell Brandt behaved as a, quote,
07:17ruthless sexual predator when he assaulted six women over the course of a decade,
07:23a prosecutor said on Wednesday, the third day of the actor-comedian's trial.
07:28The prosecution opened the rape and sexual assault case against Brandt,
07:32with alleged offences occurring between 1999 and 2009.
07:38Prosecutor Real Kami Jones told jurors at Southwark Crown Court in London
07:44that the six women who do not know each other were assaulted in a hotel room, workplaces,
07:50a toilet cubicle in a bar, and at Brandt's home address.
07:54She said at the time Brandt had an indiscriminate and voracious desire for sexual contact,
08:00and, quote, women were simply a means to an end.
08:04Born to working-class parents in Essex in eastern England,
08:08Brandt launched a successful stand-up comedy career as a teenager.
08:12He became a household name as a television presenter on MTV, Channel 4 and the BBC
08:18before making his foray into Hollywood.
08:25The German police are dealing with a case unlike any other.
08:29A robot is alleged of her as a 16-year-old girl,
08:33presumably remotely controlled by two young men.
08:36In the night on Sunday, a red-orangen or a red-golder robot
08:39will put a 16-year-old robot on the ring of a 16-year-old
08:43and then also put a push movement in the direction of the robot.
08:47The 16-year-old owner and his 19-year-old support
08:50will be filmed and then live on the internet streamed.
08:54Shortly afterward, emergency responders found the robot in the boot of a car,
09:00where the 16-year-old owner is said to have studied earlier.
09:19Authorities say the young men are suspects, but no charges have been filed yet.
09:24Die Kriminalpolizei prüft jetzt den Verdacht der Beleidigung auf sexueller Grundlage.
09:30Investigators say whether charges would be filed against the two young men
09:34depends on what they found and how the robot was controlled.
09:42Scientists at Stanford University discovered a way to prevent bleached corals from dying
09:48by placing them in contact with healthy corals for a few days.
09:52When water becomes too hot, corals expel microscopic algae that provide much of their energy.
09:58This is called bleaching.
10:01Global bleaching occurs roughly every five to six years,
10:04leaving reefs with less time to recover between periods of extreme heat.
10:09However, scientists found that when a bleached coral touches a healthy, identical coral,
10:14they fuse together.
10:15This allows algae and nutrients to pass from one to the other.
10:20While this is a huge breakthrough,
10:22scientists say the technique is not ready for wide-scale applications in the ocean.
10:26The corals must be genetically identical for the tissue to fuse,
10:30meaning every damaged coral would need a healthy copy of itself.
10:35Researchers now hope to find a way to deliver algae without requiring direct contact or identical copies.
10:47Mont Blanc has grown taller.
10:50Western Europe's highest peak now stands at 4,807.47 metres.
10:56Nearly two metres higher than in 2023.
10:59That's an altitude close to the historic figure recorded at the end of the 19th century,
11:04according to surveyors from Haute-Savoie,
11:06who have been regularly measuring the summit since 2001.
11:10This calls for caution, though.
11:12A single measurement like this can't be used to draw conclusions about the effects of climate change,
11:18since Mont Blanc's altitude varies with the weather.
11:29To refine their observations, the surveyors used ground-penetrating radar
11:35to map the ice cap and the rocky summit beneath it.
11:38Valuable data for tracking changes to the roof of Western Europe in the years ahead.
11:43Here's the inquiry.

11:46What was the last question?
